Dull endless sights and slow restless nights
Oh the magnitude stifles the eyes
Parboiled schemes and tar soiled dreams
Soon your rifle attitude replies
Quick Draw McGraw, we know, you've done it all
That means your temper is semper tonight
You're so quick on the draw, how quickly they fall
When each night in some bar room you fight
Your throttle's in red, beer bottles and lead
Slinging bullets and bottles of brew
One's quicker with lead, and you find yourself dead
Just a stranger that nobody knew

You applause the actor
Her harmonious tone
Her play of words
Her triumphs heard
But do you love the stage after the song
The leftover footprints from where it sang along
Atoning for every step that was missed
Retrieving the dust from her accomplishments
The dust from the skill she used to win
The dirt from the shoes that store talent within
She takes a bow and stifles her breath
For love won’t come if she shows weakness next
But no one applauds the stage after the show
For being there, for laying low
For setting a platform all but their own
The cleaners perceive them as one last chore
The light flicks off, and what is love?
The stage hadn’t known, from being alone
And it will never know, until the lights flick on
And the cleaner applauds it for all it has done

amid muck and mire of a storm swamp
~ shadows dance below chartreuse skies
mirrors labyrinth stifles our souls quest;
holding reflections of lovelorn dreams,
maxims and myths that fall may wreck hearts
...and hope blooms as a fuchsia rose under rain;
where valiant words weave in the wind
~ skirmishing to stave off light catharsis,
a guiding star illuminates raw pathways;
In the mirror, viewing my dilemma and Hades,
from a mysterious bane to sangria songs
~ In the wilderness of mirrors, wander lost;
tales were spoken through wisteria vines
~ my soul is Persephoned and torn by dusk
breathless amid an etching saffron storm;
a melancholy flavor of kyanite and embers,
whispering waves shrouded in nostalgia
...as time breaks down at my lachrymal leaf;
creating jagged, exquisite tracks
~these veins carry love's delicious poison
memory cascades over empyrean inferno;
mirrorless miracles always have a synonym —
~scented with forgiveness by Nirvana Sailors . . .

Do not wear pride like a necklace
For God detests pride and arrogance
Pride does not go unpunished
Pride leads to disgrace
Humility is rewarded with wisdom
While pride begets destruction
Cause it takes credit for God’s accomplishments
And covets God’s glory
Pride demeans others
It arrogates sense of Almightiness
To a mere mortal
Pride stifles growth of other virtues
Makes one to reject help needed
Prevents one to listen and help others
And deludes one into believing
In one’s self sufficiency
But in reality Pride is admission of weakness
Pride leads to extreme selfishness
Pride does not gratify
Pride does not exulte
Rather it dehumanizes and belittles

Our heart once pure is soiled,
by cravings of ego,
the thrust of lust unjust,
a flame wherein we burn
and now we’ve lost God’s trust.
Our heart once pure is soiled,
which happened when we swam
in dark desire’s rivers,
where we befriended fear,
that has us in shivers.
Our heart once pure is soiled,
owing to ignorance,
mistaken we’re this form,
an untruth that stifles,
caress of love’s touch warm.
Our heart once pure is soiled,
since the day we chose to
turn our back to God’s light
and so now we suffer
in darkness of the night.

Angry eyes lurk in the forest
Deep within the Deathly Hollows
With unsuspected fervency
And malevolence it closely follows
An apparition from the grave
A vision from nightmarish dreams
With nimble hands that quickly throttles
And icy fingers that stifles screams
None who enters survives this realm
So menacing and devoid of light
In the Deathly Hollows murky mist
Still is the air and cold is the night

The ghosts of past misdemeanours haunt me
chaining me to misery and greed,
a grotesque whispering of witless guilt
that stifles the sublime of the soul.
Damned demons howl around me,
frolicking in a deadly dance,
trying to put an incision on my brow :
“This miscreant belongs to us.”
The night grows nasty and terrifying,
wolves wail a woeful weeping song,
abominable bats blast off sucking blood,
and putrid smells block my nostrils with decay.
Suddenly a wayward wind dispels the clouds,
stars shine brightly up above.
A full moon shines through darkened trees,
a ray of mercy envelops my soul.
Hope lights my suffering soul.
I remember my mother's advice.
God created you to love and be loved.
Who can love me? I ask.
Why He who created me....and you!

AH! POLICY ...
Politicians mock politicians
Democracy groans every day
and the people vote without thinking!
WEATHER FORECASTS
Rain comes, heat stifles,
unpredictable phenomena
predictions always fail
ON THE MARKET ON THE STOCK EXCHANGE
On the market, on the stock exchange
despair, euphoria... analysts
They only get it right when they get it wrong...!
OVERVIEW OF FAITH
Hanging by a thread
surviving hard times
balancing on a tightrope!
P E T S
House animals
pure, innocent happiness
happiness goes viral with them
HAPPINESS !
When we are lost
the greatest happiness consists
find our way back!
OH IF IT WERE POSSIBLE!
How extraordinary it would be!
how wonderful it would be,
old be young again!

Radio’s on loud at the crack of dawn
though it blared to the full moon too
A couple of fans whir all day
though it’s mostly hot air they spew
A goldfish drifts belly-up in her bowl
dirt-clouds laze past the coral and shoal
The pall of her death stifles the air
where once breathed a maiden so fair

The itch to love
and satiate pride
swallowed too long stifles
breath
without emancipation
A tragic capitulation to self
Pride, perhaps acerbic,
leaves morsels to ruminate
and loves to regurgitate
coy ceramic dalliances
and Venusian masquerades
Masked in smiles
And toxic
This love,
These loose granite memories
Ductile innocents
And hasty lulls
These shining sunsets
And supernovas
Must rest.

What is there to hold onto if you don’t even know your Self?
There’s nothing worse than a hardened heart that yearns to crack and spill all over
Bleeding for the truth, finally breaking free
Thickened by time, grown into leather
Loss, ignorance, misdirected energy
Trapped and bound, waiting in the dark
No one goes in or out
So softly it whimpers for deliverance
Questioning whether anyone exists to hear
Yet it longs to cry harder, to yell with passion
To scream wildly with the force of true surrender
An unrelenting frenzy capable of compelling a worthy answer
The loss of control promises a sigh of relief, “Ah, so”
But resignation is a tight-fitting muzzle that stifles the sound and it chokes on the words
Despairing, it struggles to forget, knowing full well it cannot
Blessed. Cursed.
A cruel and ?beautiful game
Stuck in the in-between
Who doesn’t dream of opening up
An entire lifetime (or more) pouring out, free of the chest?
A hollow shell never so complete

Sitting at the edge
Fire lights flickering by my face
Eyes frozen shut
The coldness comes through my dangling foot
Moving my head
It s c r e a m s
I escape without you
Only you were supposed to be here-
In the light
It swept you u p
Into the light
Y o u went into the l i g h t
Seeking your heart
At the edge
Wailing
Into the darkness
Coldness stifles the pain
Cold over takes my pain
Rocking back n forth
The coldness numbs the pain
Bring the bottle out
It can’t be found
Coldness stifles the pain

it’s not desire per say but the clinging ~
that stifles soul and stops heart from singing
enlivening silence sets our soul free ~
vibrant in the now, joyful and carefree”
Nobody wants to feel truth anymore.
They cry out loudly for “comic relief”
Closing their eyes with a stubborn ignore
to block any sight of sadness and grief.
More pleasing to speak on beautiful things,
stars, skies and flowers, descriptive details.
A river’s fluid dance that softly sings,
floating on a dream, with wind driven sails
How sadly tragic we all cannot be
blessed with eyesight of a rose-colored tint
and that joy is dispersed with inequity.
For a beggar’s life is not Heaven sent
May all caring ears be acutely tuned
to those human songs that hum in the gloom.

Line of enquiry.
It’s not desire per say but the clinging ~
that stifles soul and stops heart from singing
enlivening silence sets our soul free ~
vibrant in the now, joyful and carefree”
Phantoms of constant fog create a zombie state of existence,
feeling worthless, your barriers offer demons no resistance.
Thoughts drift into a hazy labyrinth of toxic wilderness,
you're wide awake, but the mind's sleeping in fields of bitterness.
Dark shadows of silhouettes in shrouds start to frighten,
so you search for stimulation, for your eyes to enlighten.
To hush these' car crash' carnage echoes of violence,
soul seeks refuge away from ego to master silence.
To wander under blue sunny skies with caffeine clarity.
To cleanse in waterfalls that lead to principles of purity.
When you no longer dance with the Devil's temptations,
serenades of resurrection release suppressed frustrations.
Spirit soars, humming the repetition of a sweet refrain,
as you break away from the monotony of past pain.
In the muteness of stillness the heart learns to let go,
flourishing like the first daffodil after months of snow.
