Saving Love

The ghosts of past misdemeanours haunt me chaining me to misery and greed, a grotesque whispering of witless guilt that stifles the sublime of the soul. Damned demons howl around me, frolicking in a deadly dance, trying to put an incision on my brow : “This miscreant belongs to us.” The night grows nasty and terrifying, wolves wail a woeful weeping song, abominable bats blast off sucking blood, and putrid smells block my nostrils with decay. Suddenly a wayward wind dispels the clouds, stars shine brightly up above. A full moon shines through darkened trees, a ray of mercy envelops my soul. Hope lights my suffering soul. I remember my mother's advice. God created you to love and be loved. Who can love me? I ask. Why He who created me....and you!

Profundity found me in 50s swaddling clothes — our Mom’s seem to be of one mind and one accord in the conveyance of profound provebs at obliging moments of necessity — a reflection refreshes with Aloha

Stunning profound feelings in this poem. Saving love and memories is wonderful, but always we should open our doors to new ones. It's not easy but not impossible to love again in spite of saving our lost ones. My dear Victor, I loved it. Thank you!

Sorrow and gloom won't last long . So also joy and cheer. They shift and are cyclic. So when sorrow comes, hope for the happiness soon to arrive. Thus we can keep life's equilibrium. From darkness, your poem has shifted to bright sunshine. Lovely poem, dear Victor.

Expressing your fears, emotions and hope is the path to healing, Victor. You may also try confession, and a cleansing from a sage or shaman. ;)

Dear Victor God loves us and forgives, we all have regrets, of things we’ve done or shouldn’t have said. Those were wise words from your mother, we must all love and be loved… Beryl
