Twirling her fairy skirt,
a lace and pearl dessert.
His eyes hypnotized by
the lace and pearl overt.
Bells on her fingertips,
this lace and pearl concert.
She gives her all to him
in lace and pearl exert.
Her father hides her in
the lace and pearl turret.
But marriage promise
gifts lace and pearl convert.
Twinkling eyes of the groom
splays lace and pearl dessert.

Every glance is a sharpened knife
aimed at a love getting harder to hide
my hand splays out, gripping your waist
the blade piercing flesh, desire misplaced
the urge to hold tighter never leaves
leaving me colder than fallen leaves
a body drained, its warmth set free,
bloodless, breathless—cut by need.

a soft wind embraces the skin of the sea
as twilight dances across a changing sky
in a gown of flowing red sunset
surrounded by the silhouettes of birds
gliding on the breeze
before the night appears
wearing a glittering dress of thinly veiled glows
that spread across the black sky in sparkled light
as it takes center stage
turning the wind-blown sea into a dazzling spectacle
when the moon parts a curtain of clouds
and splays its rays upon the waves
enfolded by the soft wind, filled with a hint of salt
a nurtured ambiance
from the silent serenity of a Western zephyr

Her pink okra fingers play violoncello,
Rises from her harmonic throat songs so mellow;
Is she a swallow? A skylark? A Nightingale?
Or the Greek goddess Calliope's sweet-sounding tale...?
An amalgamation of Bach and Beethoven,
Splays open, in and through her, like a vast ocean;
Piano, cello, bass guitar, and percussion,
Her heart and hands try all with perfect precision...!
Venomous feelings of infantile memories,
Childhood and adulthood draperies of worries;
Mushroom-like or monsoon creatures-like resentments,
Repetitions of termite-eating sentiments...
Like palms or banyans or olives Beth Hart withstood,
Worries and cares, though, continued as wild Redwood;
Grim hurt, anger, embarrassment, and frustration,
Could all these, yet, crash her creative causation...?
Rocks and boulders and hard hills, and mountains she breaks,
Earthquakes and volcanoes of destructions she shakes;
"Screamin' for My Supper", "LA Song (Out of This Town)",
Midst best melodic arts, Beth has her laurel crown...!!!

The heart of the meadow
is a solitude of wonder that stretches to the horizon
where a red ribbon offers the awakening dawn
in a paradise of glorious glow
that reflect in my eyes of wonder
Where silence is welcomed
by a mortal soul yearning
for a painted palette of color
that begins at the end of an endless meadow
that lay on the banks of a meandering stream
formed by cascading waterfalls
pouring over ancient cliffs from mountain snow
where a dove is heard as a mist rises
to dance on the leaves of flowers
leaving dew for a gentle purpose
the eastern sky has lit
and splays its rays upon the wet stones
of the lonely stream
to leave a sparkling glow of tranquility
in a tabernacle of vibrant technicolor
where my curious eyes wade into the shadowed lace
of leaves dripping with dew
seeking birds of beauty hidden in an oasis of limbs
like a distant note that echos through the valley
the red horizon becomes a chorus of light
where my longing soul can wander this lonely stream
of fragrant wildflowers
and welcome the gentleness of Nature

It's here- that special time of year- once more,
when autumn leaves bid their farewell to trees
to spread bright cheer o'er summer's old decor.
The velvet green that covered them before-
no longer kissed by summer's gentle breeze.
It's here- that special time of year, once more.
Such lovely, pastel blooms, the summer bore;
now sturdy plants of bright fall colors, please-
to spread bright cheer o'er summer's old decor.
Along a path, or gracing a front door-
they can withstand temps lower in degrees;
it's here- that special time of year- once more.
The autumn paints new landscapes to explore
warm, burnished scenes before the winter freeze;
to spread bright cheer o'er summer's old decor.
As autumn splays its red and gold splendor-
for sure, this beauty always will appease.
It's here- that special time of year, once more
to spread bright cheer o'er summer's old decor.

Rugged mountain peaks are now snow-capped
Wintry weather creeps down with passing days,
The lips on the blossoms are faded and chapped.
Many of the larger critters are sadly trapped,
For they have not adjusted to our urban ways
Rugged mountain peaks are now snow-capped.
Tall, spindly pines are in thin snowsuits wrapped
In the wind a snow-laden limb melodically sways
The lips on the blossoms are faded and chapped.
Native brown bears, fat and lazy, seem zapped
As they search for a safe place while winter splays
Rugged mountain peaks are now snow-capped.
Before the snow can melt, it is once again lapped
Piling up high, thwarting mountain hiking forays
The lips on the blossoms are faded and chapped.
For years the mountain trails have been mapped
It’s possible to enjoy those Christmas Eve sleighs
Rugged mountain peaks are now snow-capped
The lips on the blossoms are faded and chapped.

Beautiful rose you take my breath away
you with your pastel colors of pink
resemble the sky when
daylight splays
you, with your beauty at the brink
of dawn, you scentacize my days...

Echo
A web waves in the warm breeze,
caught between ancient wooden struts,
indefensible, beneath an empty seat.
It splays to breaking point;
fine-knit, like a fibre-glass veil;
delicate strength resisting air.
Behind, purple bell-shaped blooms bow their heads in unison,
deferring to the weight
of a sprinkler’s misty jet,
that fans out in the shape of victory.
But it is not these shimmering droplets
that crystallise quietness;
nor the opaque haze,
as heat warps the scene into film;
it is not even the web, hanging on, precarious,
like angel-hair, suspended,
where even one breath might fracture the whole.
My quiet distils
to single drips
echoing inside a hollow barrel,
like an insistent broken tap
in a sleeping house at midnight,
incessantly filling night’s spaces
until dawn arrives again.

The slow red sun falls through the dusk gray sky
Shadows from bird's wings glide casually by
Feathered limbs carry them away from night
They float through skies of layered painted light
The day changes coats when night creatures sing
Dim stars appear like an uncoiling string
The worn cloth of time turns into twilight
Harmonies of night fill ears with delight
Sunlight ends on a quiet spinning spool
The red of its light becomes minuscule
Moonlight splays upon a realm of starlight
And brings its own layers of painted light
I watched in awe at this slow changing scene
Only my whispers of thanks intervene

Like the sparkling stream flowing down the hill
I see you dance around my green meadow,
Feel the air of ecstasy standing still,
Enticed by the ripples, your shy smile shows.
Shimmering dawn flushing the horizon
Masks your mystique face as the red sun burns.
Yearning splays hues in the sky of my own,
Straying there to wisps of cloud your smile turns.
Treading in blue night you’re drenched in stardust,
Enigma like sparks on you I see glow,
Rinsing you with secret aura of lust,
Its cadence in your smile begins to flow.
Even if from close many times I see,
Still, for me your smile is a mystery.

Oh, Wintertime with weathered hue
of leafless trees and faded lawns;
the sting of cold with biting winds,
much shorter days and dreary dawns-
Oh, Winter, with your weathered hue-
I share my winter blues with you.
As I, behind this window, stand-
observe this season that holds sway,
I'm filled with ashen, Winter gloom
that buried Autumn's lovely stay.
Oh, Winter, with your weathered hue-
I share my winter blues with you.
But, now I see your snowflakes fall
to quickly transform grays to white!
Your blanket gleams below blue skies-
becomes white satin neath moonlight.
Oh, Winter, hide your weathered hue-
whitewash my winter blues with you.
Uplifted by your pristine snow-
the bright sun beaming off its glaze,
I know that dormant Spring will rise-
a sliver of nirvana splays.
Oh, Springtime will bring life anew-
and I will share in rebirth too.

twas dark, a hen's night
stillness abandoned fright
knocks echoed freely
her presence held
chimera fragments
an innate realm
unbeknownst reasons
dare overwhelm
a shoulder-companion gone lain
unearthed my being hath slain
seams seared, half-bakes felt
rivers hot, unadulterated knelt
twilight's heightened bell
barriers broken bedlam befell
curvaceous moon slip away
chamber dust filled out of old
breaths breathing air gone cold
pumps pursed crimson clouded lips
breading beats inner anguish sipped
lingers light in parchement craved
digging deep, past stones yet paved
pebbled path's growth graves utter grief
sight lines fall with Autumn's leaf
promise skips 'cross barren ponds
flight trapped pain becomes undone
curvaceous moon come to stay
marched beats slow and humble
vagabond makings soon to tumble
hearts welcomed back home
release, the wilderness calls
blessed, respite guides the walls
yellow splays the morning
(or is it night)
balance tips the scales
