The Fireplace As It Splays

the fireplace as it splays
like flu stitched under bone tenderly
embers touch more apart, then staid
one movement now, leaving

flicker so brief on shadowy lines
our last goodbyes
the fireplace as it splays
embers touch more apart, then staid

the will of multiple burns gait
its warmth holds our eyes together

This transcends our planet. Chimney splays give a home a more exotic feel.

Very nice, Paige. But check her rules on syllables per line. If this is for the contest .

How creative! “Flu stitched under bone” what a unique phrase! You think outside the box! I like that! Best wishes if for contest!

A flaming seduction, the word bone is raw & enigmatic yet sensual. "its warmth holds our eyes together" very nice! Me thinks the tail end could be "but it splays" & rhyme it with 2 more tail ends. TC!

This is other worldly. Fireplace splays > exotic image. Combining flu with tenderly ! Yes, viruses love us too forces humans to go under bone. So next is to go into bone marrow = golden key. “will of multiple burns gait > you really stretched my mind here, Paige. First class last line. Sending Great Love.
