Premium Member Good Morning,

As with all things it began small,
As a whisper, a glint, a glimmer
A distant chickadee giving voice
To a sun that rose ever silently
And a morn that seemed ever,
And ever more promising of wonder
Fleeting westward the veil’d stars
And rolling thunder
Dappling tears
That shed their gladness
The growing light abate the fears
Wrought, the wet groaning night.

And it seemed a slow standing ovation
A clatter of chirps, cars and school children
Beginning their ritual’d day
A smattering of clouds forming and deforming
As the orchestra began to play
And my window became a ringing call
Beckoning me to my door,
To turn the knob that had secured me before
Symbolizing a threshold—of a freedom
That lay beyond—
And more.

I sat in the sun and closed my eyes
I heard birds chirping and singing
I heard the soothing flow of my birdbath waterfall
I heard the windchime occasionally ring

Then I opened my eyes
I saw birds all around me
They were diving to the ground
and chasing each other around
I saw patterns from plane paths across blue sky
The American Flag fluttered with leaves on trees in breeze
All these sights and sounds merged to greet me
                    - and I smiled -

Premium Member The Sounds I Hear At Night

In the early eve
Different sounds are heard
Before I slumber
I hear the sounds of
A motorcycles
Starting up their motors

As I am dosing
I hear a bird chirps
A small child screams
Screaming very loud
Pass byers talking
Music playing loud

Its hard to sleep
Every eve I hear
All these sounds at night
Before the evening
Begins to be quiet
Then I fall asleep

Premium Member Silent Sounds

Ol' Sol descended. The day was done.
There was no sound from the sun.
I could hear no celestial tune
from that bright golden balloon.
I may as well give a futile try
to catch the song of a butterfly,
so, I listened with a silver ear,
harp strings on the moon to hear.

Did you lead me on?
I had dreams you might measure up.
Was it really just illusion?

Premium Member The Source of Sounds

Whether from the east, west, north, or south,
The winds blow, sometimes with great noises.
Yet, at other times, I hear melodic whispers.

A vehicle passes with a sound, but its directional
certainty is concealed. A search is enjoined,
and only then is its pathway revealed.

A light fixture falls, and the sound is heard.
An investigation is undertaken to identify the fall.
We search the hallway and check the walls.

The inquiry yields no results, but weeks later,
although inadvertently, the light fixture is seen.
It's hanging against the wall, still attached to its electric wires.

Premium Member Everything Sounds

Music stirs,
Vibrations
Whip and lather

Icings of formal
And intimate flavors –
Singular or entwined,

Everything sounds!

Anzac Day Sounds

Bugler and player of bagpipes
Continue. Stretching out
That now breathed to more than a stout
Minutes' honouration.

Soonest war, its great wound
Closes, opens again.
With no respite to the realm's pain.
Nor your own! Death appoints
By tomb, blue-faced, with sound annoints
To stand at attention.

Premium Member sounds of the country

In the far distance I hear freeway noises
there is a jet plane arriving from the east
my dog is chewing something loudly
probably a walnut
he fancies trying to break his teeth
a car has accelerated rapidly on I-70

I hear a tin-like barking sound
try to identify it
sounds like a screaming robot that is being dragged and tagged
a tiny bird tweets to my right
another jet plane

I look up
It looks like a toy up there
makes a sound like distant thunder
train whistle grabs my attention
five or six pulls

Motorcycle revs up
life in the country of Kansas
uh-oh
a siren
police or fire
lots of honking

Premium Member The Dumb Lyrics

There are sentences that are inaudible
And words that are passively silent
Oh! Words, verbs, innuendoes and pirouettes
We instantly ask incredulous questions.

Their gestures sometimes are understandable
Clever foxes hide behind vices
We comprehend very well why racists
Are intermittently invisible.

Oh! Silence that is when words do not exist
We see rats robbing the store at daylight and the cats
Patiently and intelligently examine the list
Of the remaining victims peacefully and wisely.

Words are often deadly dangerous
Daring the weapons of inequality around the hellish fire
Which is about to consume the desperate city
Where the words are silent and strangled.

Sweet Sounds

Glittered across glassy dome above
Slight lights sprinkled
Conductors of
Sweet sounds
A first lullaby
Hummed from the lips of a new mother
Just before a bedtime kiss
It drifts, floats
The gentlest of notes
Glide down from dust-lit sky slides
Into the ears
Of those who will hear,
Pause In awe
Then listen... listen
Wait some more
And the newborn babies softly snore

Premium Member Whoosh, Echo, and Shimmer with Experimental Lyrics

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh
Pulse, pulse, pulse, pulse, pulse
Echooooo, echoooooo, echo
Echo, echo, echo
Shimmer, shimmer, shimmer
Shimmer, shimmer
Pulse, pulse, pulse, pulse, pulse, pulse.
Tic toc, tic too, tic too, tic too, tic too.
Throb, throb, swoosh, and glimmer
Humming drones craft sparkly saucers.
Blip, blip, blip, beeps, beeps, beeps, beeps
Resonate and oscillate. Vibrate and pulsate.
Undulating Nebula. Reverberating pulsar.
Wailing Quasar. The throbbing void.
The Cosmos echoes. The Cosmos glimmer.
Shhhh. Shhhh. Shhhh. Shhhh. Shhhh.
Sizzling singularity whispers the secrets.
Of the wailing Heliosphere.

Flaring pulsar with whooshing voids.
The chiming zenith balances rumbling singularity.
Surge, shimmer, wail, whisper, flare, and rumble.
The moon beckons you with its beams.
My UFO shimmers as it drifts into the mystery.
Shimmer, shimmer, shimmer, and sparkle.
Reverberating and gazing at stars.
Echo, echo, echo, echo, echo.
Tic, too, tic, too, tic, too, tic, too.
Whoosh away. Whoosh away.
Whoosh, echo, and shimmer.

The echo rebounds.
The shimmer opens bright eyes.
Whoosh as we fly high.
