Premium Member Stone Deaf

their wills stronger than their wont’s
       like mountains, immovable
          stone deaf, irreprovable

compromise beneath them, a dirty word
betrayers of this world, rest assured

Premium Member In the Museum of Human Intelligence (HI)

At HI features, oh how we shudder.
Here, back in time, each human brain has 'em,
in DNA's scripts, brains soft as butter,
and the code of low-grade protoplasm.

But now, thanks to Tomorrow 4.1,
we've recognized the strange and the stranger,
and we look proudly at what we have done,
eradicating the human danger.

Rest assured, we are safe, silicon friend.
They were just evolution's hapless bump.
The human race has now come to an end.
and we're not plagued by that pesky ol' chump,

for, we quashed the clumsy human pretense
they called unique ethics and intelligence.

Premium Member Wonder, Wonder

Our life has gotten rather small;
these days we rarely go outside.
I venture to the mailbox some,
but do not like to leave my bride.

Her world, it seems, is smaller still;
she’s sleeping more and more these days.
She hardly ever has a bite;
you’d be alarmed at what she weighs.

Her grands, her daughters all were here;
it seemed a shame for her to miss.
I often wonder why it is
this stage of life should be like this.

But rest assured that in a while,
in joyous answer to His call,
she’ll up and leave us with a smile
to join the wonder of it all.

Premium Member Happy Valentines day

Bouquet of flowers with bright red roses,
dinner and wine, as evening approaches,
beginning of love, is dawn of new life,
when two hearts dearly wish, god disposes.

Fervent dreams walk the edge of a sharp knife,
their racing pulse, have some reason for strife,
blushing faces hold hands in deep romance,
pray one day the two be husband and wife.

Dim lit ambience, whispers, furtive glance,
perfumes and music do their love enhance,
words are said yet no one knows what to say,
desires in bodies reverberate a dance.

This day is the first of many such days,
when new love finds fresh love to pave new ways,
some end in Yes, some may start with a nay,
Rest assured, true love will go all the way!

Premium Member Peculanality

New buzz word, peculanality.
If you understand it maybe you met me
in this life or a previous one.

A world of peculanality,
to some refreshing to others off-putting,
either way always memorable.

With that frank peculanality
you can’t predict what will pass these lips.
Rest assured it will be full blown sincere.

Made up with peculanality.
Whatever is done? Others duplitry it.
Don’t make me explain that word either.

Embrace the peculanality,
the oddball that’s only discovered once.
A cold chill that’s felt long after it flies.

Peculanity is a force that bellows
‘To hell with duplitry.
Birr your way, blot the path as you go.’

Premium Member Horisontal

The life I live is horizontal
With no boss to answer to
I know bosses look for total
Scrutinizing what I do
I’ve no issues with the laws
How much better I should be
They don’t care, yet impose
Their massacring truth on me
I might be the worst offender
Rest assured I'm not that hot
Their spam goes back to sender
I’ve no time to read the bot
So I’m just a peaceful worker
Of the leisure job I run
You can count me as a lurker
One of those who's having fun
It’s a gift to see this living
Streaming through towards the mist
Floating down, I’m forgiven
No one cares if I exist.

Premium Member Thoughts Within, I

From in my mind arose a thought
Yet still I think another
Farther, what has mother brought?
A sister... now a brother!
Most indubitably I welcomed he
Thy blood flows through his vein
Arose a thought, how will he be?
For what ought- be his name
A name his face will take, in time
Rest assured-will be it so
As well it did to yours, to mine
To everyone- we know
Ye blessed his soul my sibling stone
Be forever free of ill and stress
And may he never be alone
Lo! live a life in happiness!
And yet, another thought; anew
I dearly thanked my mother
In mind I thought I always knew
I'd be a sibling's brother

Premium Member Raptor Rapture

With a fist full of daggers it descends upon its prey
Dropping like a meteor without the light of day

But no rocky harbinger, this bearer of last light
It's gift eternal night borne on the softest wing of flight

Envy, and wonder, consume the pondering breast
Was it oversight or blunder that left us so unblest

Since the point where first we leapt, we long have sought the wing
Yet clumsy sad contrivance is all that we can bring

'sif chitin brought to shiny curve, could match the kite its wing
Still our eyes reach skyward, as if prince had been king

Our reach forever past our grasp… we're left to pine and sing

Oh we can bring the night to those we deem worthy of rest
But soaring on the breath of life is not how we've been blest

But rest assured in this one thing we share with those of wing
Squawk, or screetch, or melody, we too, can laugh and sing

Breathe deep as though it be your last, and fill your soul with song
Then let fly with the breath of life… sing loudly, if not long

Premium Member The Hunt

The hunt for quails had begun.

Two old men sat on a bench on the main street.
A shot rang out of the stillness of the countryside.
Below one old man, weak-sighted but the sound of hearing,
raised his head towards the ridge.
"He missed! Surely the fool has missed!" he said.

Up the street, two youths approached, both carried
a double-barrelled repeater. Both had empty bags.
The two young men stopped in front of them.
"Oliver would have hit any bird even with half-blind eyes,"
the taller one said. "And you, Bert? Come with us tomorrow?"
Laughing, they continued their way.

"Of course, rest assured we are indeed men!
I lost count of the number of quails I caught!"
"We are men! You know what, we’ll go hunting too."
Two heads, one white, one bald, nodded in unison.
“We’ll meet early at six tomorrow.” They agreed.

The town hall clock rang out every hour.
Six o’clock struck. Nature slept on.
Below, in an alley, two old men dreamt. Damn fools!
They moaned in their sleep. Why can’t they shoot straight?

Premium Member Gotcha!

Tingly skies full of surprise oh how I love when I surmise,
the little rascal aims his dart as if it were, poetic art!

Nobody knows where it might hit, but rest assured, in seconds split,
that mischief maker's dart will pierce an unsuspecting heart.

With his freshly sharpened tool, our lover boy creates a silly fool,
but, if his arrow punctures you, know his aim is pure and true.

This angel's wish, you must abide. Forget your pride. Enjoy the ride!
When cupid's arrow aims for you, there isn't much that you can do!

Premium Member Self Esteem

"If you put a really small value upon yourself, rest assured that the world will not raise your price." --Anonymous

Hard to be a humble soul
In a world of silver and gold

Some rather tweet than to speak
Others prefer cookie cutters than unique

Self esteem is like a boat's sail
Without it more likely to fail

It’s ok to ride tides pride
Yet still stay humble on inside

The Preemptive No

Before you ask

The answer is no

I will never surrender courage

For a place of defeat and storage

I will not abandon faith

For a worthless attachment to an uncertain estate

I refuse to relinquish love

For a well-fitted but counterfeit glove

I cannot renounce my goal

For a destination that ambushes my true role

I will not forsake confidence

For a river that runs with polluted opulence

I refuse to discard determination

For a chance to keep company with resignation

I dare not part with humility

For a life that grants honor to futility

Before you ask

Rest assured the answer is no

I Dare

I dare you to run on__
even when the day is long...
I dare you to be the best version of yourself.
To know you're enough and that you have all your help...
I dare you to hold a smile.
Not care and sit and dream awhile...
I dare you to stay with it.
Especially when the naysayers inveigle you to quit...
I dare you to get in the ring.
Even though you know Goliath is going to take his best swing...
I dare you to keep fasting and praying.
Because rest assured the enemy is out preying and slaying...
I dare you to run on.
I dare you to get on stage and sing your song...
I dare you to be early and not late.
I double dare you to go and be GREAT!

Premium Member Thinking about Nevermind!

Thinking about Nevermind!

Skinny dipping soaked in bleach, albino by design
Eyes burning, -Something in the way- future gives a sign
No pacifier needed, when remuneration’s on the line
Keep calm it’s just rehearsal, will sink lower another time

Born too soon, umbilical’s frayed by a toothless bite
Lure instills urge to swim, bypassing baptismal rite
-Come as you are- take a breath, be sure to stay airtight
Nevermind the grunge, it’s less dirty with a soul of white

Zero in on bait, the watermark hides a sell by date
Perhaps-stay away- not much change at going rate
Don’t lose sight of legal tender, it won’t always sate
Take a breather, rest assured, if lungs don’t reinflate

Swimming in circles chasing what is never truly ours
Set in ripples, a reflection of mankind’s weakest hour ?
The dollar breaks, revealing depths we’ve yet to scour
In the murk, no god we trust, just a bill we all empower

Premium Member Here we go again

There will always be times where it seems that we are coming apart at the seams
Our patience wearing thin with stress once again seeping into our skin
Suddenly we're swallowed up in the moment even if we pretend not to show it
Sure we can try to keep it all bottled up, but eventually the volcano will erupt

This is when we need some extra scaffolding around our hearts, but where can we start?
Begin by remembering we've overcome similar obstacles in the past, even when they seemed so wide and vast
So while we worry things won't improve, rest assured this too shall pass and we'll fall back into the groove
