Wonder, Wonder
Our life has gotten rather small;
these days we rarely go outside.
I venture to the mailbox some,
but do not like to leave my bride.
Her world, it seems, is smaller still;
she’s sleeping more and more these days.
She hardly ever has a bite;
you’d be alarmed at what she weighs.
Her grands, her daughters all were here;
it seemed a shame for her to miss.
I often wonder why it is
this stage of life should be like this.
But rest assured that in a while,
in joyous answer to His call,
she’ll up and leave us with a smile
to join the wonder of it all.
