Legal Eagles

'Oyez! Oyez! Oyez! all stand,'
said the bailiff before remand,
as legal eagles had looked for loopholes,
flaws in the law,
large enough to lose a lorry,
is that what they became lawyers for?
If I had taken their advice,
blindly handed out to me,
I'd have gone directly to jail,
if not in a trice.
Attorneys, barristers, solicitors,
ambulance chasers,
searching for victims
so they may

are criminal lawyers good people when they allow the innocent to Be Convicted

no god would stoop so low,
to break a mind already fragile,
or put innocence in a cell,
let alone make it pay for some sinless crime.

there are ghosts who don’t leave,
they cling like smoke,
they stain a man’s skin
with the black of all he’s seen and felt—
screams sealed inside walls,
eyes kept wide, without sleep.

in prison, the screams bounce

[verse]
My crazy sister had roamed homeless for so long.
Once an intellectual, then her brain went wrong.
For hospitals to keep her, she had to be a danger.
A strange logic, but to reality they were a stranger.

[chorus]
Where does Brenda sleep tonight?
On an underpass out of sight?
In a doorway, or a city park?
Seeing visions in the dark?

[verse]
One

The Morning View from Snappy Shine

7 AM
and the doors

of Snappy Shine
Are open

The lights turned
on for the

Artists already at work in
Palettes of kiwi and spit

Lawyers and Bankers await
Their turn for their

Usual seat with
Greetings passed

to the Rhythm of
rag-men relaxed

Skillfully mixing politics with spit
and blackened wax

The Friday

Life itself sometimes begins at the "End"? Life always has a beginning, and I am not certain about how "Life itself" will "End".Will you hold on to your "Life" that you have now to invigorate, and inspire the desire that the love gives so that you can live again, regardless of the condition that we sometimes find ourselves

Premium MemberLawyers Are Nojoke

Lawyers are no joke.
They take life seriously.
Their briefcases and files are immaculate.
Their hair is in place. They are grown up acting.
Expensive? Yes. Annoying? Sometimes.
But they know how to make bad things go away.
Get one if you can; use them wisely. They are worth the money.

My blood boils when I think I have yet
to meet a lawyer with a shred of dignity
one that's god-fearing and not immoral
heartless greedy or egomaniacal

It boggles my mind how anyone could
stoop so low to take advantage of the weak
and deliberately dry them out and
watch them grow old sick and wither away
at their weakest and most

(No aspersions are willfully or otherwise cast on the honorable profession of the Law. Though I’m not a Barrister, I passed – through self-study – all the subjects at the Bar Examinations set by the Inns of Court School of Law, London, by 1956. And my knowledge of the practice

Legal eagles or vultures?
Alimony and divorce
Wills
Your problem is in their best financial interest
Enduring power of Attorney
Representing you at a exorbitant fee
Stay away from them if you can!

Lawyers

The legal eagles I have known
fly low, incompetence they have shown
standing before the court
as they come up, all too short
has been my experience with the man
who never seems to do the best he can.
And so, laden down with laws
my lawyers seem to have no claws
or wings with
