I wasn't ready to fall in love
didn't have the time
something inside turned on me
it sold me down the line
wasn't going to fall for love
I couldn't take the chance
my feelings got the better of me
and sold me on romance
didn't want to deal with love
it wasn't in the cards
emotions took a hold of my reins
they sold me to the stars
because my heart turns traitor
when you're around
my mind is made up
but my heart lets me down
and like a Trojan horse
inside the citadel
my heart opened up to you
and I fell
Whispers in a january evening
Infringe upon the sullen silence.
Nature doles its peaceful sleep.
Tranquility come along bearing gifts
Enticed by embers scattered across the sky,
Radiant rebels in the night.
Modestly a moonstone hangs above the horizon,
Ovation worthy though she be.
Oceans sway to her command,
Nuptials possibly in the cards.

I heard they sent
for a royal fool
to make them laugh
until they cried
Now there's a pool
made of tears
& forced smiles
on the side
They're feeling blue
with red eyes
& black hearts
front yellow backs
You know the rules
of silly games
always produce
funny acts
It was a trap all along
meant to bait the
greedy flies
A pest will pest
til the end
attracting counter
to what is wise
Awakened rudely
by the fool
whom they assumed
was sound asleep
The crown it fits
a suited king
adorned from head
to rooted feet
The branch grows
full of leaves
& bears the weight
of coming fruit
Who knew the fool
could plant seeds
that would grow
through shallow roofs
You'll know the tree
by its fruit
& what it endured
and came to bare
Sometimes the weeds
are necessary
for what's the wheat
without its tares?
It's fair to say
what's in the cards
will soon require
a show of hands
Sometimes a fool
plays a fool
knowing what cards

Lighthearted pleasantries make me smile
playful banter and optimistic outlook

I realized I never fit in anywhere
Like forcing a round peg into a square hole
Even when I'm with people who are like me
I still stand out
Like I'm standing on a stage surrounded by people
But the spotlight is only on me
Am I made to always be on the outside of the box?
Being on the other side of the looking glass
Every one else's view is intact
But my side of the glass is cracked
I'm wishing to see the same view everyone else sees
But that's not in the cards for me
Is it?
A question mark in a world filled with exclamation points
Running through life waiting to get to that full stop
Period.
Only to run into a bunch of comma's
Run on sentences.
Weird isn't it?
How my mind works
Calling myself a concept instead of human
But am I human?
Do I fit in with other members of society?
Will I ever?
Can I ever belong?
Lend me your emerald ears
Hear my liquid love song
Drown fears lighten tears teal
Revealing the deepest chocolate heart
I long for you like bird blue
Craves the wind beneath wings
For you make me fly and cry and sing
Without caring for onyx opinion
You know my naked truth and smooth
The rough patches of my past into pearls
Despite being a neon naughty girl
You see me as good worthy of love
You accept me as amethyst queen
And king the joy you bring is heavenly
I peel layers of me for you to consume
However you want I am a bloom
Of passionate flowers wilting from famine
Your sunny kisses mix with rainstorms
That our bodies create and conform
I can’t live without you and I don’t want to
Grow old with me in time and dream
All the things that you want to do
Tell me how we can be better together
For solo is not in the cards dealt us
We may never part but if we do
My heart will be stronger for loving you
Has conjured a new fierce spirit
That God has blessed us with
don't ever come knocking

forgiveness might be possible
but forgetting absolutely not

Destiny it's not in the cards for Me
I can't do what I love
I can't be me
So untrue
Living is choosing
To get up
Or fall down
Failing is part of the growing
Taking a stand
Believing in your self
Letting the world see you
Should not be shame upon
You are so much more
You have so much to offer
Despite your trauma
There is a place for you in this time
You are relevant
You have the power to change
Carry on be that star
Be that light in someone's darkness
Help them carry on because the journey out weighs the reward

His last phrase was a melancholy refrain, a sad echo
of the reality which always seemed to be his plight.
Since he was born one frosty night, his fate, he couldn't rewrite.
He therefore refused salvation's rope and plunged to his death,
but was it marked in the cards that's how he'd breath his last breath? -
a reverberation of a theme, from each childhood fall
to the echo that sounded off that lonely canyon wall.
