In This World,
Hath man e'er will'd his own will?
Hath the genial face grow agen in age or otherworldly experience?
Why hath Man wield his sword before his word?
Why, Man must shield the wounds his words wield.
Why hath Man cradle his own wounds in the cocoon of the worlds's cruelty?
Why, Man must man-handle his own begrudged drudgery.
Man must descend to fight his inner transcendental entities,
For Man to ascend beyond the outer transcendental obscenities.
Wilt man e'er fight f'more than the thrill?
Before man will only go for the kill.

Now I really have no concerns
if you think I may be nuts
If I finally owned a business
I would call it Rough as Guts
I'm happy with my own standards
someone else's perfection it's not my go
For years a fear to experiment
when self esteem was low
Confidence on the rise since mid thirties
as an owner builder several houses I have built
There maybe a wall or two that leans a little bit
So What! The Leaning Tower of Pisa I have no self guilt
Playing musical instruments started in mid fifties
eight in all I finally learnt to play a joyous journey had begun
When I play guitar and sing I may fluff a chord or two
So What ! Audience and me together are having lots of fun
Just recently began some illustrations for my poems
as an extra to provide some humorous cheer
I'm certainly no Picasso, Van Gogh or Toulouse Lautrec
So What !My drawings make some people laugh and I've not cut off an ear
We all have so much untapped talent
because of fear we often never try
Me. I'll keep on seeking mind expansion
until the day I finally die
Tasty confection,
Chocolate, caramel, nuts,
Delectable reflection,
Love those tasty guts.
It must Snicker,
While my taste buds flicker.
No Guts, no Glory’ : Have courage ,
whether young or in old age.
If you sit indolent with fear,
Life will turn stagnant ! No charm , Dear
Meet challenge at each step
Never try to escape.
Try again and again.
Remember ! No risk, no gain.
Ever have a fart that you don’t trust
Because you have the bubble guts
I squeezed my cheeks
I sneezed it leaked
Depends not dependable enough
Reunion of friends
Family, a crowd
Her fiftieth trends
Of her, we're proud
A model, she struts
Resplendent in blue
With signature, guts
Astride husband, true
Past, present, apart
To feast and dance
Next chapter to start
A risk, another chance
Ensues a warm glow
Asking, when next?
Meetings may flow
Pray not a mere text
A great effort brings prize
Cultivates the mind, makes me wise
Swim through a rough sea to get there
Strength with faith hand its share
Courage ignites by a strong will
Put me on a throne of challenge and thrills
A sense of fulfillment without regret
Victory’s my joy for giving my best.
The night should not be a barrier,
Darkness has a door through it,
Arise and walk into the day,
Push aside the obstacles,
Unveil your mind to see the way,
Persistence will blossom the field,
Speak to the body and it will comply,
Let it be led by the right rhythm.

Nette Onclaud,
Drop The Cliche Poetry Contest.
Father said pick your fights,
but I have guts and a backbone.
Always face my conflicts with brave courage,
fortitude and with heart.
I must, must protect my honor,
my dignity, pride, triumphs and delights.
oh, love to feel I won -
nothing is better than glory.

I sit uttering the common words,
NO GUTS, NO GLORY, but what of me?
What of the bone, the structure,
The planning for the plot?
Why am I denied recognition
For remaining in the background?
I was still here. It was me. Alas,
No guts. No glory
Hold thy hope, happy scene shall come,
To parched and keen, ocean shall come.
Rest nor relax O wayfarer,
Thy dream with joy within shall come.

Note: Inspired from the original Urdu:
Rakh hauñslaa, voh mañzar bhi ayegaa,
Pyaase ke paas chalkar samañdar bhi ayegaa,
Thak kar na baith O mañzil ke musaaphir,
Mañzil bhi ayegi aur milne kaa mazaa bhi ayegaa.
Out the window my dream go
Escaped from the clutches of self
Wandering the streets beggarly
A holigan besmeared in slime and guts
Where is my dream? Where is the world I hoped to see myself?
Why is my world gray? Of what hope is me without my dream?
So I wake by dawn.
Armed with my knife and my gun.
Out in search of my dream
In pursuit of wandering hope
I crouch
I crawl
I kneel
I bawl
I wait for time to search for me
I plead with the winds to take me to my dream
I plead to the heavens to see me
10 years old at heart, clutching at his heart.
Alone in the midst of a graduating crowd.
The Best ignored swallowed by the greedy despair
That night, at Midnight, my dream ran
Out the window. Leaped like a monkey
Wandering around the streets beggarly
Unkempt, besmeared in slime and guts
And so I search
High above and down below
For the day I reunite with my dream
But until then, I waste away.
Ginger had an ice cream covered in nuts
But the nuts took revenge on Ginger's guts
Alike a pea-shooter
They shot from his hooter
Now he has a burning pain betwixt butts.
Have confidence in mind
And a strong will to achieve,
Solace in God if you can find
Great plans you can conceive,
To injustice if you are blind
Justice, you won't receive,
Clear mind has no fear,
Cheer will dry off tear,
Dear pal, God is near,
If God's name is chanted
Your soul works efficiently,
When boons are granted
Bliss comes sufficiently,
Problems are by fate invented
Find out a solution patiently!
Be brisk, active and agile
Never shudder with fear
Think rationally always
Then only joins you joy
What is the use of worry?
It cripples your emotion
And makes you invalid
Worry is not wanted
Losing is not shameful
Only losing courage is,
By using our expertise
We must ever achieve
Self-pity must be shunned
As its effects are negative
Like a flower, be fresh
And rejuvenate yourself
Getting upset is very easy
Being lazy needs no will
Crying can be easily made
Gathering guts is manly
Thousand losses may emerge
Our life may face constant doom
Only defeat may be the result
Here only patience plays a role
Think and act with true grit
Swallow negative outcome
Give up not, but you march
Let not your will-power sag
Few more steps are there
That will take you to glory
Getting upset and losing
Will not serve the purpose
If those who lose must die
World will become empty
As all suffer at times loss
This is God's strong order
Why are losses caused?
There is no answer to this
About one thing I am sure
Toil shatters the fort of loss.
