Summer's soft glow

Fruits ripe beneath summer’s soft glow~
as light rains fill streams with gentle flow.

The Drowning Darkness

When life goes right
it somehow never fails
that something from the past
tries to return and bite you in the tail.
Try as it may
I stand strong and stay
on the path set before me 
and nothing will get in the way.
I've been steadfast on this journey so far.
There is no way I can fall off the radar.
I've lived

Letting the artist in me shine through

An Open Heart

An open heart, unguarded and true,  
spills light like dawn across the dew.  
Its glow, a quiet, golden flame,  
draws souls who never knew its name.  

It listens more than it speaks aloud,  
a gentle force beneath the crowd.  
Moments bloom where it has been.
Soft echoes of what might

Caught In The Glow

Do you like
knowing
or the idea
of knowledge
The pretense
of perception
or a wellspring
sublime

Political
correctness
or the search
for a moonbeam
Relighting
your way
as you glow
— in its shine

The Star

Glittering unhindered in the sky 
Is the star’s glow at places high,
Lighting seas’ abysmal turmoils:
Nature’s eye that darkness foils. 

But this glow’s sometimes short-lived:
Evil gods by such excessive shine miffed
May with clouds obfuscate  the star
And its heavenly luminescence mar. 

Yet whether in resplendent glow
Or by jealous clouds overcast,
A star will remain a star you

Once in the evening of a lovely pond’s face
a moon glow appeared; fireflies giving chase
pine soldiers watched the mystical sight
one of the prettiest moons, which gave them delight

The ducks were asleep, so they missed it all
Cattails did not see, for they cannot lean after all
the grasses were smitten, for the glow was ethereal
unreal thought the

Summer's Glow

pleading petals play gently in the sun
whispering joy across the sticky skin
summertime blessings cannot be outdone
however, autumn is her next of kin

praying roses and melancholic buds
remembering our heart’s tender healing
hanging in timeless ache of fair redbuds
season’s bliss lifts shadows who’re concealing

promising the night stars, moon and fireflies
rousing such beauty the skies come to life
only God

Melanin Glow

Born from the sun's ancient kiss,
A gift wrapped in golden brown bliss,
I carry the stories of ancestors proud,
Their strength echoing clear and loud.

Melanin flowing through my veins,
Like rivers of cocoa after the rains,
Each shade a testament to divine design,
From ebony deep to honey wine.

They tried to dim this sacred light,
But stars were born to shine

Hopeful mind

Time's gone, religion's in decline,
Why don't we care about this line?
Used by tyrants, the poor consider it fate,
Do they care about the poor's state?



The night of darkness started soon,
But still shining the brightest moon.
Tyrants swimming in a pool,
Poor watching, feeling cool


Different religions, different rules.
Poor confused, but they are fools.
Horror dreams, horror thoughts,
They are holding charity

Golden Glow

When I was coal you mined my soul 
and treasure there you found: 
a heart, stone cold, but solid gold, 
was buried underground. 

So long I hoped and blindly groped 
for rescue by the brave; 
from skulking fears and sour tears 
that haunted my dark cave. 

The sifters left my heart bereft 
of airy thoughts

There is an incandescent glow in the “not to know”, 
Like sprinkler mist on my secret garden. 

There is a horribly beauty in leaving it as is. 
No knife to be turned in your back again, 
just leave it and watch your body grow around … 
To leave a tiny scar where an innocent pain

Girl, Level up and leave

You’ve been holding on too long,
To shadows where you don’t belong.
But girl, it’s time to break the chain,
Release the hurt, shed all the pain.

No more tears for what won’t grow,
It’s your time, just so you know.
Pack your strength, your heart, your dreams,
Step into light, hear your own screams.

Level up, rise from the ground,
Find your voice,
