she was a ramshackle, eyesore of a house
Uneven, unsymmetrical, with a plethora of problems
One bright red door made the rest of this mess glaringly sad
And yet, there was a whimsical feeling about this place
Something uplifting, exciting, and promising
my soul felt this as my mind was scrambling to figure out why
She was an unorthodox, maniacal, ramshackle of a place
looked like a haunted house, but in daylight without scariness
Sure, she needed paint, but she had smack dabs of character
She felt inviting, even though her roof was disintegrating
In some way I was drawn in, kind of loving this eyesore of a house.

She was purposefully brazen, garish and flashy
Daughter of Lee, who owned a haberdashery
Her outfits were razzle dazzle, glaringly loud
That’s my daughter, her daddy bragged to the crowd
People lined up to gawk to see what she would wear
Some of them made fun of her ensemble, but she did not care
Others yelled mean things to her – vulgar and tawdry
She loved being known as outrageous, glitzy and gaudy

A road to nowhere is all they construct
He who blindly follows will self-destruct
We awaken at dawn just to suffer
For many, life couldn’t be any tougher
Their dark cunning plans brought to light
The road to dystopia now glaringly bright
No real care for our sons and daughters
The evidence is in the poisoned waters
Treasured values slowly erode away
Degrading further day after day
People are just sacrificial pawns
To the maniacal of societies higher echelons
Billions spent to find that cancer cure
Trillions more needed, my good sir
A doctor’s visit may set you right
Treat your symptoms for the next fortnight
To a violent world they gravitate
The hidden hand doesn’t hesitate,
The deceived are marched off to war
To adorn their brothers in blood and gore
This digital age is one big prison cell
No more coins to drop in the wishing well
Just another languishing, unanswered dream
That, unfortunately, one cannot redeem

The new language
It was late August, on a glaringly hot day, when I felt dizzy
went to sit on a gigantic carob tree full of beans on thick leaves
to sit in its cooling shade; it was pitch dark inside, and I could see
nothing at all until my eyes got adjusted.
the sheep, seven of them, had sought relief from the sun’s cruelty
My dog refused to enter; she had been head-butted by a ram
the sheep looked alarmed; another human to order them around
but when I sat down among them, they took me for another ram
they continued to chew, looking absent-minded; with white wool
The sheep had white fleece in sharp contrast to the carob beans
that was like the gnarled fingers of a dark person (black is out)
Nothing is the same anymore; some men say they are women and
blithely disregard biological facts as unimportant.
There are no longer any Jews in Israel, now called Israelites
it is as if they are trying to kill the ghost of yesterday by living a lie.
In Denmark, a children’s book was withdrawn showing a black doll
a new book issued, a merger of many faces, quite unreal,
like the faces were drawn by I.A and certified by a committee.

Raspberry, as glaringly large
Package with bulk, bulging.
Squirrel-eyed and squirrel-grasped.
Nuts, bells; enough weighing!
Thinks me, thinks he, if and once dropped:
"The spillage! Red flood-tide!
Every brown leaf to re-tint!
As yet branched high and wide!"

DARKNESS AND LIGHT
My friend, you seek to wound
With a knife, sharpened from
Bile-imbued speech,
Twisting through to the heart's fragility.
A life bleeds crimson into weeping
Earth and you, smirking
Wantonly out from
Behind an artificial facade,
Barely able to conceal the suppressed pain
Inside your blighted frame.
You mock the inconvenient
Before blinkered eyes -
That which accords not with the acceptable,
In adherence to rules, laid down
From an unmoved tradition.
You need the skeletal framework
Of structure and routine
To bolster an inadequate existence;
Familiar only with restrictive darkness,
You hate difference or variation,
The obscure smothering attempts
To discover the glaringly obvious.
Yet still you wound me at the fork in the road,
As though it's your life's work to do so,
I now speak the truth in my defence,
Succeeding to deflect your arrows
With the impenetrable shield of love.

The distant pings of a windchime
Dance around my head like fairies
My lungs fill with the warm breeze
But my eyes are distracted
By a white stamp against the blue sky
Everything I've learned as a child
Whispers that this is wrong
Why is it so beautiful?
I drink in the sight of it
Of her, of me?
Its very being changed by the summer
Showing its face while the sun shines on
In defiance of expectations,
Defiance of rules
Her blemished skin glaringly contrasts
The smooth blue of the sky
Unashamed
"I am here", it calls to me
My eyes sting as I whisper
"I am too"
My words carried off by the wind

Looming shadows ‘neath sapphire skies;
“whooo whooo” the hooty owl cries.
Jack-o-lanterns scowl beneath the trees
as we shiver in the chilling breeze.
Where tombstones tower above the lands
and a blue corn moon glaringly expands;
beware the zombies that walk the night
and werewolves howling in the moonlight.
Amorphous specters flit and float,
as Charon rows past in his boat.
Keep your neck wrapped up very tight,
for vampires are all out tonight.
All Hallows Eve’s a frightening time,
for lurking monsters it’s just sublime!

We’ve been torn in between but we’re still walking on!
It's been haze and fierce but we still see clearly and glaringly
They’ve been tough and mean but we’re still winning and on them
Life has seemed so unbearable but we’re still in it and we shall conquer!
We shall conquer,it's not far but near!

Behind the words, there might exist
A message that’s unspoken,
A code that those who listen well
Might realize they have broken.
For what is said aloud may not
Convey the total meaning
And sometimes one can’t even tell
Which way the speaker’s leaning.
Reacting to an answer that
A query may solicit
Could possible ignore a thought
That’s glaringly implicit.
The words released into the air
From someone’s mouth and mind stem
Quite often hide some connotations
Lurking them behind them.

Earth has not anything to show more dread or drear
And reckless would he be of soul to venture by
A tragic scene gut-wrenching in its travesty
This city now doth fully its mourning weeds wear
From a shocking afternoon filled with siren blare
Open to violent threats, aimed to terrify
Kids,tourists,passers-by,police and medics cry
In defiance, not broken in the pain soaked air
Never did the sun more glaringly drench and steep,
With her lancing rays, face, window or reflection
Ne'er saw I,never ever felt trauma so deep
River flowing by,blind to this vile aggression
Good God!The very House was locked in nightmarish sleep,
All that mighty city then and there racked with tension.

Hidden messages.
Subliminal.
Yet glaringly obvious to the keen observer.
I wouldn't have relations with someone incompetent.
So it shouldn't come to great surprise that I am seen through.
The intentions of youth obvious.
Yet Hope prevails.
The irony of the hidden message hidden in dab and shot soaked memory's.
Soon to be corroded from the flow of recollection.
A late nights morning.
Kissing the dry mouth of the dreary after a hard days night.

A young pretty lady, seeking company from an unknown
and to the hospitality of my open arms, she quickly lodge.
A stranger still remains an alien until some acquaintance is established
seeing what is right in front of me, such a feeling was purged.
Sweet conversation, chilly atmosphere and some sense of belonging
are benefits attached, hence nothing observable to judge.
Her youthful exuberance was glaringly into play,
but it was stimulating and an effective nudge.
She’s damn good! - Soft touches, sexual tricks, and erotic riddles,
all put my physiological smoke into heavy surge.
A sudden feeling of satisfaction and a ‘game over’ countenance surfaces,
she’s definitely an expert and what’s next is to dodge.
Taking a polite excuse, she run-walks to the bar’s comfort zone,
my instincts begin to define all her gestures to be a forge.
Then I realize my fat wallet is her hired escort,
officially making me a stranded victim of a beautiful scourge.
