Squirrel With Raspberry

Raspberry, as glaringly large
Package with bulk, bulging.
Squirrel-eyed and squirrel-grasped.
Nuts, bells; enough weighing!

Thinks me, thinks he, if and once dropped:
"The spillage! Red flood-tide!
Every brown leaf to re-tint!
As yet branched high and wide!"

Walking Through It and On

We’ve been torn in between but we’re still walking on!

It's been haze and fierce but we still see clearly and glaringly

They’ve been tough and mean but we’re still winning and on them

Life has seemed so unbearable but we’re still in it and we shall conquer!

We shall conquer,it's not far but near!

There It Stood

There it stood,
torn from the threshold of life,
this mere device of atrocities,
this buttonhole that bleeds
your insecurities across
an ancient atlas.

It dies in the corner of your eye
as you solemnly glance,
yet make no movement to save it.

This is the terrible loss of belief
that leaves you glaringly empty,
no matter your desperation to retrieve it.

she was outrageously glitzy and gaudy

She was purposefully brazen, garish and flashy
Daughter of Lee, who owned a haberdashery
Her outfits were razzle dazzle, glaringly loud
That’s my daughter, her daddy bragged to the crowd

People lined up to gawk to see what she would wear
Some of them made fun of her ensemble, but she did not care
Others yelled mean things to her – vulgar and tawdry
She loved being known as outrageous, glitzy and gaudy

Goblin Ghoul and Ghost

generous Gus, Greystone’s glaringly green goblin glided into the glades.
giving Ginny Graceful, a gruesome ghoul a glimpse of glorious shades.
gary, Gryffindor’s ghost glared at them; for where was his grubby gratuity?
goblin and ghost, goaded Gary, giving him grief about Glue city.
grandiose grisly girl-free graphic arts gleefully featured the grimy three.
Gladly giving grotesque features in the glade’s next grimy graphic glossy.

The Shadow

Shall I not speak of the shadows?
The very depths of the soul of the sun?
For there is surly no more beautiful thing
In the sunlight everything is glaringly clear
Hot with the bluntness of the rays
The harshness of its gaze
But in the shadows
Everything may be as it chooses
Rules may be bent
Or broken
And the shade the shadows bring is by far more comfortable
The sun does pierce the soul
While the shadows caresses it with gentle fingers

Hope Prevails

Hidden messages.
Subliminal.
Yet glaringly obvious to the keen observer.
I wouldn't have relations with someone incompetent.
So it shouldn't come to great surprise that I am seen through.
The intentions of youth obvious.
Yet Hope prevails.
The irony of the hidden message hidden in dab and shot soaked memory's.
Soon to be corroded from the flow of recollection.
A late nights morning.
Kissing the dry mouth of the dreary after a hard days night.

Sultry Stemware

Listen to poem:
Image of Tasting Hour Martini Glass provided by Noritake Sultry Stemware He lifts me up, and holds me against the light, His tender eyes glaringly, stares at my genteel presence, looking over at my noble constitution, I feel his desires of his hands as he sips my e s s e n c e, as I am but a grin on his face, with eyes for another me. 2019 May 07 *1st Place* ALL YOURS (JUN 1) ~~Brian Strand: Judged 2021 June 01
