Near swift streams
Hear loud screams
Dear ones unsteady
Gear up—make ready!
Fear causes pause
Bear paws claws—
Bead on the Grizzly
Lead story too grisly
Dead hide becomes rug
Deed told with a shrug

Premium Member PRAISE BE TO GOD FOR ENABLING US TO BE RICH TOWARD HIM

October 27 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on Luke 12-13

Key Verse – Luke 12:21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

PRAISE BE TO GOD FOR ENABLING US
TO BE RICH TOWARD HIM

Praise be to God for enabling us to be rich toward Him:
Laying treasures in heaven
Leaving troubles of helplessness
Loving Him with His triumphant hope
Lighting testimony of health’s happiness
Living for Him with thanksgiving by His hoisting

Luke 12:42-43 Praise be to the Lord for helping us
to be His blessed servants:
Delighting in His work while worshipping Him along His wonders
Deciding according to His Word against wicked worldliness
Depending on His direction midst His watchfulness
Doing His will and discerning His ways
Dealing well by His wisdom

Luke 13:13 Praise be to the Saviour
for straightening us so we can glorify Him and:
Grow by His grace
Glow in His goodness
Give through His generosity
Go along His greatness-grandeur
Gear-up toward His guided governance. Amen!

We moved back into the residence yesterday - we were jubilant - and had a slumb-over last night, to celebrate our reunification. We woke up joyous, on the right side of the same bed (slumb-over), and we’ve been bouncing off the walls ever since.

We’re in the ‘settling in’ phase, restocking our Keurigs, getting our same-’ol furniture in the same-’ol places, picking up our books. In this liminal space, between sugarplums and sutures, our shrinking free-time will sag with increasing weight. Even last night’s normally fabulous martinis began to taste metallically laced with formaldehyde.

Once we’re settled in, our leisure will begin to have the tight, mangled fit of a borrowed jacket. “We’ve got to gear up.” Lisa said, just this morning and even as I type this, my eyes are flitting between my dog-eared copy of Gray's Anatomy and the mcat prep hub.

Classes start in 5 days. Free days burn bright, but disappear in a blink. Time is a precious coin.

Dr Pepper

If you pop off like so Duh you’ll get carbonated by the greater leader/
Who’s lewd and balks will infuse and let loose the Dr. pepper/
True shrewd walks through new hues shake up and fizz out/
Who knew soft drink talks brewed late would diffuse and flatten down/
A few could have caught a case while flapping around/
There’s a new juice to use as you grew your own fruits /
To improve clues to truths of uncouth abuse /
How you’ve misused the news and stayed true to loops of untruth/
Life continues in new shoes with cues to choose moves for your crew/
Lives renew his aiming from hereon in we’re here to zero in/
Peer on in at the position I’m a hero in /
I’ve never been as near or within a jeer on sin/
Freer I blend gas and gear up a poster man for my own loved ones/
Disband from that brand with new planned action no acts spun/
Just realism with no love from realization of the matter of faction

Be Amongst Few

Mediocrity, Excellence two shores
Waves of Efforts connecting shores

Surf on tide, swim against flow of ocean
Be ashore leveraging art of propulsion

Mediocrity, a reality, almost repulsive
Excellence, a rarity, almost elusive

Race of Excellence, making man a rat
Each gnawing at other to breast the tape

Peaks exist because of bottom layers
Underneath layers vital for peak to be there

Peak below feet, mark of Excellence pursuit
Feet dragging at layers, a mediocre feat

Peak and layer, complementary pair
Live with conviction, dash of dare

Peak accommodates just few
If at layer, gear up, stir up, be amongst few

Colors In the Sky

As dawn peeps in through the mountains,
Morning sky mirrors reddish orange fountains.
Doves wake up with cheerful coos;
Is it their way to gear up for facing worldly ruse?
These epitomes of peace soon grace the pinkish blue sky,
Spreading their pinions they prerogatively soar high.
The azure sky soon turn into a limitless blue lake.
Those white wings must embrace freedom & enjoy a break;
Afternoon paints the heavens with yellowish shade;
To deal with the fatigue the feathered ailerons need aid,
For bearing the density of duty is not easy,
And that burden can make the conscience hazy.
The abendrot sky marks the serene sunset;
These symbol of liberation deny to be down & upset.
Finally walks in the obsidian infinity night,
Snowies sleep with hope that tomorrow will be bright.

Premium Member Waiting To Be Disappointed

the lights flicker
I gear up, ready to be disappointed
how long will we be without electricity?
Four minutes?
Forty minutes?
Four hours?
Four days?
Thunder blasts again.
I hold my breath, waiting to be disappointed.

Gear Up

It is set to take the stage,
We see signs of its coming,
The tillers eagerly await,
Its visit brings life, hope and newness.

Halloween Night

Wake up children of the haunting night
gear up for bewildered scavengers in fright
slip in and out the darkened figures
ugly masks and skeletal bones in rigor,
step lively and step quick
or you'll be the next image tricked.
Oh, to be a kid again
with traits and hints of Houdini, Teller and Penn
dressing up in lieu of magic spells
when demons and witches rise from the deepening well,
hidden in the shadows creeping
 moonlight wakes from its sleeping,
and moving there barely seen
 pace all the scary creatures of Halloween;

Wolves and the Moon

Brave wolves at midnight boldly stand-
howl at the moon with heads held high.
Top rocky cliff, they take command
and gather 'neath the star-filled sky.

Some say the moon's hypnotic hold
	induces baying at its glow.
		It's more a battle cry, we're told,
to round the pack, gear up the show.

As they prepare their next advance-
the Alpha signals, start the flight.
Grave power in their moonlit stance-
poor prey will meet its fate tonight.

Stepping Out

Like the first day of school,
The first step is the scariest.
You were born to be remarkable,
And altogether incomparable.

Don’t you dare punk out,
By running in fear and doubt.
Gear up and step up to plate,
Trust yourself and be great.

Step out of your comfort zone,
Life is tougher in the red zone.
Don’t be afraid to take a chance,
Even if you only get a glance.

If you have the passion to dream,
Develop the desire to succeed.
Get out there and make it happen.
It’s time to put your dreams into action.

Premium Member Brad the Grad

There once was a boy named Brad
Loved to wear a bowtie made of plaid
He looked like a nerd the way he was clad
But he barely knew how to add

Get some sun kept repeating his dad
Couch potato is a real bad fad
There are things to do a whole myriad
Soon when school’s out you’ll be a grad

Time to plan your life, my lad
Gear up to be happy not sad
Sharpen your skills to be had
The last thing you want is a life that’s bad

Motivated, in the paper Brad found an ad
For participants in the Olympiad
He lined up and was glad
'Cause he won a trip to Trinidad

Pushing For Success

In the aftermath of any competition, be it sports or otherwise...
We will see a gamut of emotions in the mass of humanity in sight..

There will be riotous screams of joy and jubilation, laughter and smiles galore..
Fist pumps and high fives, happy faces all around at the victorious camp.....

We readily quip, to the victor the spoils of a victory most deserving...
To the losers we empathise and wish them better luck next time...

To be fair, all players deserve recognition for there was none who participated just to lose...
So if we downplay any successes, it is not doing justice by the best efforts of our children...

Every junior player, we can safely assume, he/she has done the best possible...
Look at the blood, sweat and tears each time they train and play their hearts out...

Those who achieve personal bests and better their rankings, congratulations!
Those who falter, train and work harder, gear up and go for the next competition...

An Ocean

She is deep, mysterious, and beautiful. Life, color
and thrill pulsates within her. It's by getting inside
her world, that you can understand her really well.

On the surface she's calm and sometimes rises
within her own tides. Most people get fooled
when they see her surface. They admire its
beauty, forgetting there's more and richer
beauty within her. They see its tides and
assume that there's death within,
more eerie than Jack Sparrow's
walking dead.

Some people though,
manage to gear up their courage
and swim into her inner world;
without protection,
without doubts,
without fear,
eyes open with wonder.
They get into the ocean,
and feel what its like to be an ocean...

The people are men;
a woman is the ocean....
