Waiting To Be Disappointed

the lights flicker I gear up, ready to be disappointed how long will we be without electricity? Four minutes? Forty minutes? Four hours? Four days? Thunder blasts again. I hold my breath, waiting to be disappointed.

Oh, I just hate when we lose power. I am immediately filled with angst, and I want to see the problem solved. How we can't stand to be without our conveniences, forgetting that for many centuries no one knew anything about them, yet they lived wonderful productive lives...I think.

We have so many conveniences, we do not appreciate until the power goes out.
