Like a first kiss is first poem
It scarce starts as a well-formed line,
But as fuzzy thoughts if genuine,
All along you feel tense
As if under sentence,
A strange itch not of skin
In time gets somewhat mean
Whilst fuzzy thoughts begin to get some shine,
Words vie to form, play bin,
Show some rare discipline,
Slowly ever so slowly,
And somewhat painfully,
Though twisted, words make a fair twine.
Most poems

Rise
Pain hits us like a bullet
Suffocating us with every few breaths we take
Hit me with rock
Poison my roots
Burn me to ashes
But like a phoenix I will rise
Rise from the crippling pain of the burning ashes around me
I will rise like the sun does every
Shoot your bullets
Try to annihilate me with every curse

First Poem
This poem is Cole’s first
This poem wasn’t rehearsed
it’s not my best
but it’s not my worst
my creativity will show
the great changes my brain will undergo.

Absence Doesn't Make the Heart Grow Fonder
I didn't go to school yesterday
Didn't feel like it
Absence makes the heart grow fonder, they say
Nobody was very fond
When I was absent from school with no good reason
Whoever "they" is...
You lied to me

Her First Poem
One written gift
for Santa, left beneath
the tree -- a scribble of
a sorts~ bad punctuation,
mixed lower and upper
case rhyme -- but it was the
place left that meant the world,
alongside a crayon heart
drawn by a little girl
who only wanted to
say: I love you, in her
own special way. Merry
Christmas also to Mrs.
Clause, and all the deer
and elves.

How My First Poem Was Born
It was December
morning, the sun was shining
brightly that made me
look at the blue sky and write
“Reflection” six years ago.

How My First Poem was Born
nicknames for three kids
Perky Pink, Road Runner and
Sailor Girl. in blink
of eye, gone and forgotten
will they even remember
how first i saw them
in hawaiian paradise
personalities
between Pearl Harbor sailing
and home life with pen in hand
a real pen not much
time to let ink imagine
with work and salutes
pretty and cute and active
might kids care to find
the scrawls of my

My First Poem
(When got bedridden for months with a debilitating disease in 2007,
to escape from depression, I turned to poetry)
in pits of despair
I lay, finding all doors shut.
a sad impaired bird~
with broken wings wished to fly
into sky, breaking all chains.
a feat so daring
my mind urged me to just try
I started scribbling~
took off on fancy’s light wings.

My First Poem
At the edge of night
I met you for the first time
under starry sky.
Time stopped for me in silence,
rhythm of love flowed through me.
Wrapped in silver dust,
I soared with cadence of dream
in your fervent sky.
Lyrical breeze enticed me,
wrote my first poem for you.

Birth Of My First Poem
Dad's workshed dusty
cobwebs, cans and jars hold stuff
old tools hang on hooks.
That day I wept my Dad's death
and my first poem was born.

BIRTH OF MY FIRST POEM
Heart throbbing with love
first propelled poetry soul
as faith moved my pen
toward blest thanksgiving muse
exalting God*, Source of life.
*Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

how my first poem was born
my teenage fancy
that flooded like pure honey
spilt, in ecstasy
on a white sheet, full of glee
as a drop of poetry
simile smiled in it
metaphors mingled well knit
with nature's fine script
nooks of my soul seemed grace-lit
has poetry found me fit?
