to bare myself publicly
in style and essence
diving into the deep end
to dwell in a new realm - plunge!

Fierce spirit so strong
At that moment born poet
Creating words notes and hopes
Lonely shuttered days
as Covid slammed at our souls
To fill the long day
I tried writing of my sons
how they fill my heart with love
Thoughts self-manifest
bring back all the memories,
views, and warm feelings.

My daughter’s last breath
my first poem, “Stay,” was born—
a sad mother’s grief,
desperate for a reason
to stay for another day.
childhood’s dream remains
flashing its grandiose image
with me and Jesus
riding on His green bike was
my first mount of crafted words
~Tasting winter's bite as nightfall drowns this grief, my ink begins to pour.~

to remember loved ones gone
some were old some young
read at a reunion
the fading of candlelight
Dad's workshed dusty
cobwebs, cans and jars hold stuff
old tools hang on hooks.
That day I wept my Dad's death
and my first poem was born.
Your smile is an unchangeable gift-
Your face is of expressional bliss-
My sorrow dost your laughter lift-
Your presence my heart shall surely miss-
the leaves are dancing
