Fame Poems

OUR CLAIM TO FAME

When I was young and in my prime,
I knew I’d be famous one day.
Although I hadn’t worked out how,
I was quite sure I’d find a way.

I’d play cricket or football for England
And win the World Cup again.
Then win an Olympic gold medal
And become a household name

Or maybe I’d be an actor,
A star of stage and

What am I doing?
I'm waiting to die.
My years are behind me
So, don't ask me why.

When I was young,
It was often said,
You're never too tired;
You can sleep when you're dead.

Now that I'm old
And ready to rest,
I trust in my savior.
My Lord knows me best.

I've journeyed for miles
And the years have flown by.
I leave a

               **********

Death approaches, yes—
But we do not recoil.
We stand, not wan, but strong,
a flexible group of iconoclasts
who shine in the shadows
of eternity’s

Our Claim to Fame

“death approaches but we have no regret ~
when God questions us, we will stand erect”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our claim to fame is the flame they acclaim,
No other tongue can sing our triumphs better—let’s not bung ours.
The choice to rise as best each hour is ours to take,
There is no shame in how we play the game;
Once our name
we are the authors of our life's opus
every scene and every chapter
we hold the pen as we record
history dreams and ambitions
stepping into the shoes of the hero
our integrity and pride on the line
one day we'll sign off on that final page
Premium MemberLemming
I’m as pragmatic as a lemming
The most important day I missed
Stayed in my hole cause it was raining
Didn’t want my destiny to meet
And probably she thought the same
Had mixed me for another one
Who craved to get his lemming fame
Like other lemmings also ran
Towards the beauties of blue sea
Each tried to keep up with a
At the Bobblehead Hall of Fame
A museum filled with Bobbleheads
Is not your average art,
Although that precisely is the thing
That makes it stand apart.
What started with a giveaway
To baseball fans has grown
To a huge collection, in the thousands,
That two friends now own.
Their gallery is organized
By categories, so
You can view your favorites from the teams
Of now or long ago.
Aside from every sport,
Fame
I could be famous.
Through laughter, then evil laughter.
Maybe sleep.
I could be famous if I used all my power.
Or I could be desperate.
In thinking things.
Somehow, secretly.
Everyone became more famous than me.
No one talks about it.
Becoming more and more…
Reclusive.
Writing things down.
I use my powers, but they can
My heart pleads
My heart pleads, and I know not how to proceed,
You shine just like phosphorus in outer space~
As Venus’ nebula that draws eyes with speed,
A celestial reign of elegance and grace.
In my mind, your love has always come with fame;
Your stars still brighten, needing no lunar peek.
With a lilt not lost in hubbub’s show of shame,
A
Famous Hope
So many people try for the good life
Along protecting that little bit of light
Trying feels just like twisting your own knife
Although you know you cannot help but try
You keep going and hope for a miracle
And all you have left is to just try
Speaking your efforts would be lyrical
Don't doubt yourself or make your life a
WE ARE ONE
WE ARE ONE
We march towards beckoning stars
tears, sweat, scars across bars
heralding heroes gone not forgotten
paving ways with courageous bones
we are One Love sown
Fortune, fame, pearls are not
ingredients in stewed freedom pots
Truth beckons a timbre away
chortling cherub cheer holding sway
cession chains fall heavy everyday
Open dark windows of shame
tigers tranquil
