While I was waiting...
For weeks of strong tease,
That weak mind's rating-
Shadow haunts at ease.
While I was looking...
For years of calm peace,
That heat up cooking:
Lighting love(s) apiece.
While for forever...
Stillness holds my breath;
While yours seems clever,
Ignorance stages death.
But I know, lies stare;
Yet looks unaware.
A mind confined to a screen
running on fumes and caffeine
Sight, smells, sounds, sterile become
old age, like unto death, her victims numb
dog’s nose is twitching
whatever he’s smelling, I am missing
dog next door barks ferociously
my dogs used to run toward the fence
they have a pen now
there is less running
they have been thwarted
confined to a mere thousand square feet
angry because they used to run the entire neighborhood
Love is thinner than a piece of cheesecloth,
transparent yet confusing to navigate.
More conservative than a political debate
More hearts are broken than mended
.
I am determined to search globally for an end to this love.
We desire it fiercely and embrace our fate to heal humanity.
Love may be a fleeting remedy,
Yet we pursue it with fervent desire,
Yearning to feel complete.
How many times must love deceive us
How many times must we yearn to feel complete?
How many times will we be let down by this thing called love?
He loves me, or he doesn’t.
I love him, but he chooses to reject my advances.
His heart clearly desires someone else.
Love is a cross that many of us must bear.
It can be a profound and challenging burden to carry.
However, I feel empathy for its victims in relation to what we call love.
Love cannot be controlled or confined
I often struggle to make peace
with nagging relapses that,
like endless tides, come
then I need to chase away.
Intrusive rekindlings of loss,
of wanting to resurrect the past,
each time needing to go through the motions
of convincing myself it's pointless.
Confined, trapped, buckled in,
I ride this live rollercoaster
that leaves me feeling disillusioned,
frustration having a bitter rancid taste.

Elevator ride,
a putrid smell, I assume,
someone's fanny fumes.
shadows
through walls
a blue moon
bleeds into the sky
the passing day
an unfinished line
a flickering screen
i am
living and dying
i am
a flickering screen
an unfinished line
the passing day
bleeds into the sky
a blue moon
through walls
shadows
A joyride
Like that of a high speed rail
We may take our partners
Our small children
Or our old parents
For a joyride
Looking around
Scenery and nature
People and crowd
Shops and houses
Cars and buses
Highways and lanes
All are eye-catching
After a long time confining to
Walls and beds
While people are still hesitating to dine-in
Because of the virus
I love a joyride
I won't leave the outside world
Out of contact
I take photos from the car
I eat inside the car
I enjoy the hustle and bustle
Of life outside
Even though through
A small car window
I was bornt to this world
I was gifted
I won't leave it alone
Will it leave me alone
And I hope to live with it peacefully
Can I
I like to penetrate your soul too
Your world too
With my true love
Although only a little left
Can I
Day after day unable to roam
Doing what’s needed
Staying safe, staying home
Week upon week inside a confined space
Nowhere to go
No other place
Good days positive
Fun and laughter galore
Reflection of life and memories before
Grateful, appreciative
For all life provides
Content for protection, safe inside
Bad days negative
Unbearably long
Nothing right, everything wrong
Frustration, worry, uncertainty, fear
Tired, lazy, future unclear
Motivation fading
No end in sight
Unsettled times
A challenging plight
Worries, woes consuming the mind
Insanity looming being confined
Leaving the home a difficult chore
Struggling to get passed the front door
Feelings of anguish, sadness, dread
Apprehension not knowing what lies ahead
Our world is responding to a time unsure
This virus can come knocking at anyones door
So let’s work together stay safe and contained
So we can roam our earth in freedom again
confined,
shackled in chains,
there isn’t an exit sign;
how can a person escape their,
own mind.

I could care less about
getting a haircut or
finding hair color to
dye my nappy roots
So what my nails need
a fill and my feet look like
I've been walking on eggshells
and frustration
I don't give a damn about
having to cancel weddings
parties
open mics and
play dates
I'm not interested in
swinging on conspiracy theories
while binging on fake news
None of that matters
My first priority is making
it out of this thing alive
mentally
physically
emotionally and
spiritually
I keep busy so depression
won't trump my faith
because in trump,
I have no faith
I want my anxiety to
calm the hell down
and leave me alone
and the more I try to
distract my thoughts
the more those social
media mail carriers
put their junk mail
in my inbox
I wish for a way to return
it to sender
Right now
in this minute
all I'm concerned about is living
to see the return
of another tomorrow
Reclaim my privilege to
openly breathe the air
that lives on the other
side of the wall

Languishing inside a cell(his demons) so fierce
and punishing; isolating loneliness pierce
the core of his misery. Every so often,
he feels claustrophobic, as if inside a coffin.

A bird sings.. mawkish
Sings and dances smooth
She... by doing so
has naturally
forgotten her world.
Soars high upwards
aims to touch moon
but sadly can't..
falls back in nest
the bird is
unable
to achieve
her dreams..
being
"leashed".

The grass is green just as it was last year
in spring, and the azaleas bring me cheer.
Their colors are not dimmed by humans’ fear.
Birds fly about as if there’s nothing wrong,
some bearing twigs to build nests high and strong.
They lift my spirits with each warbling song.
The squirrels chase and chatter free of care
before their audience. They’re unaware
that they regale me with their unique flair.
My walks are serum for my soul each day;
though I’m just in my yard, they hold at bay
surreal thoughts and free my mind to pray.
In times like these, we crave normality
to comfort us. In stark reality,
though home-bound, nature’s beauties we can see.

I'm feeling confined
since the Govenor declared
a mandatory lockdown the other day,
the sun is shining and teasing me
to go for a drive and see some friends,
freedom is a word of yesterday.
