Premium MemberYESTERDAY a refrain

Toasted teacakes,parmesan cheese
Croquetted chicken,fricasees;
Apple dumplings,yogurt creamed
Welsh mutton,in pudding,steamed.

Baked Alaska,Banbury cake
Lyons ices with  Cadbury flake;
Gorganzola buttered roll
Side salad oil drizzled,in a bowl.

Melba meringue,warm mince pies
Filet mignon,mushrooms and fries;
Sunday roast in dripping jelly
Onions and peppered tripe belly.

Trout poached,not microwaved
Slowly cooked,and no time saved;
Thick fishstock,bouillabaissed
Beefsteak so lightly braised.

Hash browns,sausage,gravy and mash
Casseroled stew or goulash;
Poached,simmered maybe pressure cooked
Tempting meals from Granma's book.

Premium MemberMy Don Juan

I would like dark chocolate, but I need you
Cadbury alone won't do
I'll climb the Himalayan for you, because
When I'm with you, really with you
Grand Central can come in, yet fade thin, as
I bask with touch of you
Fierce, yet mild well-rounded honeybee
A die-hard Christian man forever, because,
From Okinawa to Timbuktu,
History's fiercest touch to your faith you've faced.
You're continental, universal
Unforgettably cultural
You're my drug of choice
Sweet chocolate could sedate one's voice
But you! You're not terribly sweet
Your bitter changes to firm treat,
Then I know for sure,
You're my Don Juan.

Premium MemberShe Likes To Knit Her Noodles

Her chopsticks are at the ready.
Her hands are good and steady.
She likes to knit her noodles!
The task has just begun...

She starts off with a mango Welt
With pride, with zest, with tang.
It's a mesmerising watch
While the wiggling noodles hang.

Next. She's on to saucy Stocking Stitch.
Her garment sure does grow!
Knit one - Purl one - Knit two together
On each tasty row.

And this main course is called
" Knit Purl Chopstick Cha "
With a curry Cabled centre,
With sides of paprika Purl and Knit korma.

And as an extra taste-bud treat
BBQ Rib Raglan is on the menu.
Trust me! This kind of cuisine
Can't be found in any old venue!

From there on, the sleeves do drop
Like the soy sauce shaken a top.
Neatly Knitted are the Ribs.
Who voted for fish and chips?

To finish this fine course...
Knit - Slip - Knit - Pass Slip Stitch over.
This will make the button holes
For the Cadbury chocolate to melt all over.

And on completion, these knitted noodles
Slide straight on down her throat...
Before we've had a chance to prove her skill
This talent to others gloat!

Caught In Charlotte's Web - Nursery Rhyme

Wilbur's piggy neighbor
had noted his favor
and anger had started to stir,

But Wilbur uses words
so I'll sing like the birds
but his hums sound more like a slur,

So sad was Cadbury
who was no canary
no singer talents that there were,

So mad he had noted
a tune had not floated
so crazed he became a monster.

This fairy-tale means, Do not teach a pig to sing,
because it cannot sing, and it annoys the pig.

Under the Thumb

I’ve been setting up alarm systems
in shops along a city mall.
It appears a spate of break ins
has been the reason for my call.
And it was in a jewelers shop,
before that day called valentine,
for lovers was around the corner.
This day’s a jeweler’s gold mine.

I had to work around red roses;
chocolates for cupid’s buyers,
while I’m putting in the system
and connecting all the wires.
I was given cups of coffee,
and a cadbury rose chocolate,
as the pretty sales assistant,
tried to buy me with her chat.

When I say she tried to buy me
it was to make a honey sale.
She said stoned rings are discounted,
and ear ring gifts will never fail.
A diamond brooch is lovely;
perhaps a locket made of gold.
‘Your girlfriend will truly love you;’
But there’s no girlfriend she was told.

‘No girlfriend!’ she squeaked. ‘Why not?’
and I smiled ‘simply this you see.
I would love to have a girlfriend,
but alas my wife won’t let me.’

Sleep Vibes

Sleep Vibes.

As a child,I talked in sleep about my dolls,
Cadbury houses, nursery books and what not,
Why did Lara figit with my colourful balls,
Scream at my friend who snatched my pot.

Talking in sleep is a common factor,
I yell in sleep targeting those stronger than me,
To my family members,at times I seem to be an actor,
Mind swirls around the dream that wants to be free.

I saw a movie late night and slept,
In sleep I happen to meet the protagonist,
Happiness knew no bounds,on my bed I leapt,
Rejoiced and told about it to my panellist.

This went on till Mom shook me on my bed,
Still I coudnt break off my sleep,
Mom in tension went all over red,
In senses, all vanished and I saw her stress drip.

Premium MemberHow Much Do You Love Chocolate

I love chocolate, all sorts of chocolate,
The darker and browner the better.
I love it like the Greek love their bread,
When their bread is covered in Feta.

A shout out to Cadbury and Nestle,
The companies making our dreams come true.
Making everything chocolate: cookies, cakes, and bars,
And even making chocolate shampoo.

Some say chocolate’s a medicine, a type of food group,
To others it’s a lifestyle choice.
I say chocolate gives everyone a serious reason to smile,
A serious reason to rejoice.

It makes us feel happy when sad, confident when not,
Forgetting all our troubles and woes.
It makes us feel delighted, ecstatic, perky and tickled,
From our head right down to our toes.

And the best time of year, every single year,
The Easter Bunny hops around quiet as a mouse.
He’ll be here soon, leaving hundreds and thousands of eggs,
Eggs made of chocolate all over the house.

Premium MemberDiamond Dust Turned Rock

I owe you, Cadbury iris of mine eyes
From age to age you watched me aged
Grace reminds, I'd see naught sans you gracing me
Yet; two more eyes I possess, there's two of spirituality.
Yes, I've grown from fire and ice, hurricanes, and sad groans
They say, one day I just simmered; seemed more settled
I who rose like dulcet scented rose in spring time
When time served stews with parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme.
My whole life I spent waiting; feeling trapped inside dark hole
See, I lived near the Sea, but could not behold its quiet beauty
At seventeen, one knight sought my hands, I smelled freedom that night
As my spirit soared; but he was dismissed... my heart felt sore with pain.
Dear to me was he. "You have eyes like a female deer." he said
But mine eyes now sparkle like a rock... black girls also rock!

Redneck Easter

I went and bought me some rabbits,
And built a rabbit coop.
Like that Cadbury Bunny has,
‘Cept I got me a group!

And they all’s gonna lay some eggs,
With nice milk chocolate shells!
But they won’t be no coco brown,
‘Cause I prefer pastels!

So I’m gonna feed them Fruit Loops,
And that should do the trick!
They’ll be poppin' out rainbow eggs,
I’m thinkin', pretty quick!

Then I’ll get rich like Cadbury,
And buy me a new truck!
Maybe breed all of them rabbits
With cousin Millie’s duck!

People’d sit up and take notice
Of a bunny that quacks!
They’d storm the Piggly Wiggly for
My multi-colored snacks!

We’ll have us a rainbow Easter,
With chocolate eggs and beer!
Drunk rednecks on a sugar rush,
Can really spread some cheer!

Buy some rainbow chocolate duck eggs,
Then turn on your TV!
There’s a new realty show,
Called Rab-uck Dynasty!

I should have thought of it sooner!
My problems are all solved!
Ain't nothing a redneck can’t do,
When there’s a duck involved!

Premium MemberChocolate Indulgences

Chocolate Indulgences (20150129)

If I really had no choice but to divulge,
In mountains of chocolate I would indulge.
I'm not just taking about Snickers,
Reese's peanut butter cups, Butterfingers,
Or other grocery store sweeties.
I'm talking about the expensive stuff, most from oversea:
Fruit and nut bars from British Cadbury,
Milk molasses chips from local Mrs. See's,
Fudge Easter Eggs from domestic Helen Grace,
Belgian praline Sea Shells from Leonidas,
Belgian Cote D'Or bouche pralines,
And from Germany's Ritter Sport--EVERYTHING!
Wallowing in glorious chocolate, I'd be so pathetic,
If not for the fact, that I'm a diabetic.

Premium MemberWhite, Too, Is All Right

My first Dollie was white
It sat on the lap of Papa's mahogany chair
I looked closer and saw blue eyes
A miniature mannequin, she was thin
Was it a sin I stood not smiling? But turned within
Filled with joy, the color of my skin was Cadbury brown
My Christmas gift to me all along

Dark girls I meet were pretty and sweet
If they were poor, I loved them more

My brother's first love was an Ebony dove
She was the color of my love

Nobody told me I was beautiful
On our way to sea, I felt it
A nappy haired doll; hand in hand
With my teacher, Miss Daphne, on the pier
I felt a touch, warm as Carib' breeze
It was the arms of God saying I was His
Of Her, my Jamaican Mama wedded to my Papa in Belize
Where mahogany speaks

Mys second dally was brown
She made me smile, and lingered long
peering into iris of her eyes
It was deeper than colorism
It was first pool my spirit plunged in
It soothe my soul

My friend, Denise Taylor was white
Eyes the color of chocolate
Her curls bounced gaily as we skipped to school
Her mood I always savored, was jelly sweet treat
She painted me a picture of light in all its glory.

Premium MemberBukut of My Belize

Give me bukut!
First root of my Belize
It is builder of blood
Strength of my bones
Soul fortifier
It ignites my fire
It has stood the test of time
Unscathed
Just as mahogany wood in hurricanes.

Bukut reminds me of the Baron's lighthouse
Its interior is mysteriously sweet
Generations come to feast
Do you know how long?
It endures heat
It is dark Cadbury of my skin
Its seed, caramel iris of my eyes
Its sap, blood of my blood...

Folks bask in shade of its limbs
It is here and there multiplying
Give me pallet friendly bukut!
It is root of my Belize.
