Bustle Poems

The Bustle of Time

A new day dawns,
I’m welcomed into its embrace,
I journey its length and breadth,
I search its depth.
Time is in motion,
It reaches the end of its journey,
Its continuum collapses.

I board a train,
Twilight is its last station,
Midnight is its final stop,
There are no delays,
There are no obstacles,
In the multitude of my thoughts,
In the flow of my desires,
I find myself at the final stop.

I stand before a portrait,
The onus is mine to add my colours,
With each brush stroke,
With every hue,
Time wanders,
It tunnels through the elements,
A new day dawns,
Its portrait lies before me.

My tardiness is not a delay,
My swiftness is not speed.
It’s a strange entity,
A mysterious phenomenon,
An enigmatic existence,
Time brings us to the end of our journey,
And takes us into the beyond.

Premium MemberCity Limit Lights

In the city's limits at dark,
All the lights were in a glow
From corner to corner stood
The brightness shimmered its shows.

It is something to view at night,
If you haven't been to the city before
Put it on your bucket list,
And go on vacation in New York,
Oh, don't resist!

The hustle and bustle that goes on,
Those street players performing
Whatever their art, craft, or music
They'll be doing some ameliorating,
Be sure they'll do it!

You'll hear the saxophones,
And the brass horns to
Those series of strings bring them
Blues players up from Blackwood Gorge.
The Mardi Gra is the city that lives.

Oh, those blues are playing,
Its echoes are from corner to corner
Those brass cymbals are swaying
Like the slippery, shambling water
On a tin roof when it's raining.

“How are you doing?”… (sigh)… “Busy”… we hear and say it all the time
Wearing our busyness as a badge of honor while stuck in the grind

Why are we are always moving like we have somewhere else to be
Perpetually pushing forward as the world swirls under our feet

We constantly craft our calendars only to arrive at those moments
To realize our happiness is still lacking the necessary components

Constantly spinning our wheels without stopping to ask our destination
Maybe it is time to consider updating our mode of transportation

Swapping the future for the present to stop scheduling and lean into today
Savoring the slices of life that are on our plate right now that will soon go away

Realizing that joy already resides closer to home than we think
But make sure to catch it though since it will be gone in a blink

My Spot Amongst The Bustle

Every day feels like a race
Always some job to do
Or person to please
I'm all over the place

I always thought it was just me
Looking to escape the madness
Even just for an hour
Somewhere to flee

I found a spot
For peace and quiet
And a cheeky little beverage
Which can't be too hot

I found a friend whilst there
Who sat with me amongst the bustle
They liked me for me
And my flaws? They didn't care

We spent many an hour eating toast
Escaping the rat race together
Understanding each other
That's what I miss the most

I still go to my quiet place
Sit in my favourite spot
Before I head out to battle
But oh how I'd love to see their face

... Again

Resistance

For persons leaving little to chance,
To others’ orders don’t wish to dance;
For weapons reserving user’s glance:
If they can’t find guns grip a close lance…

Resistance means that one has muscle:
A king who must not lose his castle,
The accustomed to life of hustle
And harsh towns of hustle and bustle…

For resistance, the reddest of eyes:
A time one freely Anarchy tries,
Wastes more than a soul and one’s tears dries:
Sometimes doing the thing with war cries…

All: on the Altar of self defense,
The blood one sheds not really offense…
Sooner achieved sooner respected,
Less badgering rightly expected;
No more the clumsily inspected:
Whoever tried this war prospected…

A colony nests inside my soul
where the nectar of pity was hoarded
For all you, the urge to soar is unabated
Hence, we may widen this horizon
Truth can form hallucinations
Still, can goals reflect reality?
maybe not?!

Enter inside the nest as a frogman
vulgarity rules the roost
you crave her gentle embrace
like breath, she sheaths
you are lured and compelled
follow up on requests at your peril

accepting you to the hive
our place is ideal for you
Improvement? or excellence?
however, we do not practice this here
wear your uniform and stay in line
shut off your mind and act as taught
you will be keen
soar solo if you must
we will sever your wings

early creative endeavors
I have gathered things for many years
yellow sunshine over grassy slopes
vividly sketched wildflowers
exactly as intended
the swarm of delight rarely stopped
by what lies outside the white picket gate
given the presence of shadows
the fence moved further away
until all my brightness occurred.

Premium MemberA Joyride

A joyride
Like that of a high speed rail
We may take our partners
Our small children
Or our old parents
For a joyride
Looking around
Scenery and nature
People and crowd
Shops and houses
Cars and buses
Highways and lanes
All are eye-catching
After a long time confining to
Walls and beds
While people are still hesitating to dine-in
Because of the virus
I love a joyride
I won't leave the outside world
Out of contact
I take photos from the car
I eat inside the car
I enjoy the hustle and bustle
Of life outside
Even though through
A small car window
I was bornt to this world
I was gifted
I won't leave it alone
Will it leave me alone
And I hope to live with it peacefully
Can I
I like to penetrate your soul too
Your world too
With my true love
Although only a little left
Can I

Premium MemberAirport Bustle

Where can all these people be going?
Thousands in this one huge terminal
Scurrying along like ants in single file
Growing impatient with any distraction
A last minute gate change or delay
Brings no holiday traveler satisfaction
One must look closely for the rare smile
Long lines waiting for next vacant urinal
In a full Airbus or Seattle's 737 Boeing.

Could never live in an isolated area
No people around what could be eerier
Hustle and bustle
Without a muzzle
Is what I need to feel much cheerier

Christmas Bustle

Scurry, bustle, hurry, it is getting very late
Soon Santa has a very important date
His sleigh is in for a last minute testing,
not even the reindeer have time for resting

Polish the brass, brush reindeer coats
Remember all those Christmas quotes
"On Dasher, on Dancer" and more
Things Santa has said many times before

Boys and girls around the world wait
to hear sleighbells, Santa, don't be late
Make those toys, make more an more
For children from one to two to four!

The Bustle

Quickly wake up, shower and shimmy
You're late for work and kids for school!
Eventually arriving, settling into the routine
Suddenly you realise you forgot something at home!
All's a mess, again you overslept!
Traffic's just crazy, your hairs a disaster
Barely time to breathe, let alone eat!
Afternoon pickups, late for hockey practice
Its homework and laundry, then off to bed
Awaiting the bustle that's sure to aggravate!

The Hust and Bustle

In all the hustle and bustle
Of Life.

People running around in
Circles,

Stepping on your feet, pushing
Shoveling,

Without a hello

Where did all the nice people
Go?

Never a smile

Just disgruntle

“Wow just a sigh”

Know sugar and dumpling

Not a smiling face in all the
Audience.

“Just a sigh”

Rushing around in circles

Looking for something they
Can’t find..

Just open your heart and let
A beautiful serenade flow

From the essence of your inner
Self..

And let love flow through the waves

And find all inner peace..

Let your love touch someone
Heart today..

Let another heart shine with love
From the love for one another..
