When Joe was young he had tonsilitis
In grade school he developed bronchitis
            Later, elbow bursitis
            And Colitis, Neuritis
Now that Joe’s old ~ he aches with arthritis

        Little wonder Joe’s gender-conflicted
It could easily have been predicted
             Sick of sports injuries
             Joe made some inquiries
Plays dolls injury-free ~ he enlisted

A Strict District

All the folks in the district
Know that they should walks restrict
Or guards shall restrict their walks:
Make them suspend lengthened talks
Or with lengthened talk send down
To the valley of the town…

All the folks in the district
Like human lungs that constrict,
Because bronchitis is strict
And tormenting hour picked…

In an-too-strict district
No lips just funnily licked
No face with a funny streak
Or prison for a full week;
Legal redress to not seek
As lawyers have their harsh beak!

So, how like you such, free man!
Three months I’d live there and ran.

Ave Maria

I hear the cries, the ties that bind.
I recall it all when Easter comes.
His suffering upon the cross our
Great and humble loss endured for us.

Ave Maria

How she must have suffered too at his feet.
The tears she shed as her son bled.
Then as He dies the darkened skies revealed
Mourning fears mingled with anguished tears.

Ave Maria

Laid to rest beyond the stone mourners moan.
In disbelief instilled with grief as He appears
First before Mary's eyes to see our Lord arise.

Ave Maria

Rejoice this blessed day as we pray...He lives!
As His disciples too bear witness to His wounds.
Jesus died to wipe our sins away. With the
Grace of God he rose from this sod into Heaven..

Ave Maria

Amen!

'i'M Too Darn Old For the Cold'

I am but a man who is so cold,
with a bad cough from a cold that’s bold.
Bronchitis cold sickness,
from this cold I’m listless-
Guess for nude cold skiing, I’m too old!

Premium Member Ms Black the Hypochondriac

I once worked with a youth who had gingivitis
Twenty years younger yet she already had arthritis

Pretty enough in spite of her dermatitis
She so craved attention we all thought caused by meningitis

Winters seemed worse with time off due to bronchitis
Bouts in hospital for appendicitis and diverticulitis

Regularly like clockwork she came down with severe vacationitis
After each self-prescribed vacation she’d strangely suffer from moneyitis

She talked our ears off we kept hoping she’d get laryngitis
But no, it was only bursitis and colitis followed by gastritis

Ms. Black sure was high maintenance with her neurosis and neuritis

Cherish Your Lungs

Listen man, have you not heard the word?
Smoking is not good, its’ bad; its’ absurd.
Take note; smoking gives you lung cancer;
Bronchitis, lung failure – makes you die faster.
Tobacco has poisonous gases and chemicals;
Damages your teeth and throat – mess your vocals.
Listen friend, be wise; don’t ever try smoking;
With your life and future, you can’t be joking.
You need your body healthy; so, take care it;
If you see tobacco, just watch it; do not smoke it!

Scum of Nations

At times, go public spending
And twice, will the salaries of functionalism
While they fleece the public treasure
Easy-going, claim the subdued
At the profuse bronchitis of patriotism
At the mercy of poor care

Get up, come and join us will
The scum of nations
Countless like the grains
In the deep Oceans
And the stoical vastness of deserts
Where the annoying wind
All entangled in gigantic fuss
And it even that more awake
Stay the unwary, because of all this

Premium Member Motive

Misty morning haze
Smoky skyline hues
Greyscale water colours

Sun floods milky
In smoky shades
Light losing tint

Dreary dawning
Ignominious feel
Runny colours fade

Weary spectacle
This ominous aura
No birds sing

Smoky persistence
Like old-time
Pestilence lingering

Rain rain come again
Clear the smoky haze
Let the children play!

There will be time
For non-smoky days
No haze and bronchitis

To each
A motive
To be festive

Advantages of Smoking

There may be "Advantages" to smoking!
But, I can't think of any today!
It puts a great strain on your wallet,
but, it's really your lungs, that will pay!

Your clothes and breath will give you away!
They have that "Special" smell!
If you smoke in your car and your home,
they have that "smell" as well!

Young folks think, it's a sign of class,
and maturity, in a way.
Unfortunately, too late, they're gonna find
it takes their breathe away!

Yes, smoking, in time, will destroy your lungs!
But, you still could be all right!
You just, have to wear, an oxygen tank,
24/7 - all day and all night!

Eventually, you'll find it a chore, to walk
or go up and down the stair.
You must ride around on a scooter,
or maybe a nice wheelchair!

Why people smoke, is a mystery, for sure!
Since the redeeming features could be:
Cancer, Emphysema, Bronchitis,
and most likely, C.O.P.D.!

There is no law against, smoking,
and there is no "Advantage", that's true!
So, STOP, if you do - Don't start, if you don't!
The decision is up to you!

THINK ABOUT IT PEOPLE!

Premium Member Puffing Away

Doctor determined I've got bronchitis
Use to think bronchitis was serious
It's serious enough but certainly not fatal
Once thought it could make you delirious

Don't get me wrong, I'm not feeling that great
It's like my whole system is in a knot
I'm certainly not one to suffer from illness
Quite healthy I always have thought

Guess age is finally catching up with me
Free from illness all of these years
Thought I was some kind of special being
Sure got it wrong, that's clear

It's not going to threaten my life I'm told
But it's terribly annoying I'll say
Puffing away every morning, noon, and night
No peace, no relief all the day

Good thing the prognosis is I'm going to live
If I follow the doctor's directions
Take the pills that she prescribed for me
Till I'm good and rid of the infection

Play Time Part 2

At the age of 10
I had an abundant amount of energy
I could never
be rid or get rid of it
there was just too much of it

At the age of 10
I was diagnosed with asthma
and Bronchitis
which explained my shortened breath
and restless sleep

At the age of 10
I would play tag
just like any other kid
but I had a secret

At the age of 10
I had lost my best friend
my closest friend
my brother

At the age of 10
Sean had died
and I was left alone

At the age of 10
I seemed normal
but I wasn’t
I was going insane
I was losing hope

At the age of 10
Play time began to lose its happiness
and it’s meaning

At the age of 10
My energy
began
to disappear

BOUNTIFUL BLESSINGS

I have acute bronchitis
I hack and I cough
I say to the Lord
Haven't I suffered enough

He says to me
“You wanna bet
I'm not through, and
You ain't seen nothin' yet

You think you're sick?
Just look around
At those who are shut-in
The infirm and unsound

Sure, you hack and cough
Your throat has a tickle
But innocent babies have died
My, but you're fickle

Count your blessings
Stop your grumbling
Don't be like the Israelites
Who were constantly mumbling”

I say to Him, “Lord, you're right
I must be confessing
I am highly remiss
In counting my blessings

Forgive me, Lord
For my fickle ways
And let me serve You
All of my days

Let me never forget
That I'm blessed beyond measure
But all of my days
Won't be filled with pleasure

Your blessings to me
Are bountiful and many
Compared to others,
I have quite a plenty

When You hear me complain
And You see my greed
Just keep me reminded
That You're all I need

Forgive my grumbling
When I'm feeling low
Help me remember others
Lord, help me to grow”

Your Poem

You are lying on the couch
God's perfect toes sprawled in that little fashion

He make them like they should be
I love them
Curling with every breath and snore

You read me something
Moses talking
I swear I heard the passage

But

I concentrated on you

I'm dull from the spider bite
You've made the salve
I sit and wait for the swelling to go away

I watch you sleep
Some commercial comes on the TV
As the humidifier hums

I watch you

As you breathe, your bronchitis

So strong

I bit my lip a little
In worry of your sickness
You smile and pinch me

I'm just a quiet babble
