The End Product

I'm thinking there's many
a drinking toast
'Cheers!' 'Cin cin!' '¡Salud!'
'Sláinte!' 'Prost!'
'Here's looking at you!'
or 'Mud in your eye!'
'To health wealth and happiness!'
in Japan it's 'Kanpai'
Hebrew 'L'chaim!' Chinese 'Ganbei!'
Russia 'Na Zdorovie!' Scandinavia 'Skål!'
and 'E ola!' in Hawaii
but was it a member
of the gay persuasion
who first let slip
before a sip slurp or sup
twixt cup and lip
the suggestion 'Bottoms up!'

Desire on fire
It's under control
But deep down inside me
It's full and it's whole
Thoughts of big snowstorms
Still thrive and abound
While dreams of guitar lessons
Still drift around
So close that I'm catching
The faintest hint of
Rose and vanilla
Of you it's pure love
Your lips look so soft
How I'd love to kiss
Them for hours on end
In passionate bliss
The kind that make movies
Of romantic ilk
If I could just kiss them
I'd drink all my milk

At a sports event in Europe*
Norway got a hefty fine
For their players were competing
In some shorts that crossed the line.

For the only proper bottoms
Are bikinis, so the crowd
Gets a peek at much more tush
Than what it seems the shorts allowed.

As the spectators were cheering,
Maybe Norway got some boos,
Since the team from Spain provided
Much more titillating views.

Cilly Willy was born transgender
And became a Public Defender
She could be a judge
If she would just fudge
But she knows that Trump would upend her

Premium Member Roots - Bottoms Up

A tree's roots are under the ground
where, with little fanfare or sound
They nourish the tree that we get to see
its trunk and its limbs, its twigs and its leaves

Our focus on powerful branches
   or brilliant autumnal scenes--
We know that without sturdy roots deep down
there'd be nary a tree for miles around...

Yet my family tree has its deepest roots on top
   Without those brave primogenitors
~ all growth would have stopped

I have always wanted to see the world
From the bottom up
So when I die
don't cry
Throw my ashes down the toilet
And flush with vigor
while shaking the handle
here is looking up at you

Bottoms Up 2

not feeling well
not finding the
bottom of the
well

because the well
springs gone
but what about
what

the dowser didn't
say but her rods
got excited and
bent

down saying that
here there is water
to be found so
dig

so i dug and am
still digging
but finding
dirt

then my world
eyes opened
seeing the
globe

on the other
side was my
much beloved
Asian Sea

Bottoms Up

taking all of my pills
and vitamins to fill
a shot glass

chasing them to stop
the things that are
chasing me

with
a bottle
of wine

Bottoms Up

I just hit rock bottom I fear
The landing sure tore up my rear
A BADLY bruised butt
But hey, ya know what?
I'm starting to LIKE it down here

Bottoms Up

Heavy handed was the pour
convex cap to rim of glass
chasers iced and doubled back
dry toast to soothe an empty flask.

Innkeepers have their history
in treating drunkards mystery
disguising in replete display
the demon haunts their every day.

Beached the sun-bleached bottoms
of small boats color the sand scape,
safely turned bottoms-up
far from the high tide’s line.
They lay in wait beneath the teardrop rain,
huddled from the bay’s breath, they hide.
It is only the lap of languid wave that bides.

Bottoms Up

When my dad said bottoms up, he wasn't talking about drinking booze.
He taught me that drinking is not a good thing to choose.
I was drinking in his house at the age of eighteen.
He was furious and he put me over his knee.
He beat my butt cheeks like a pair of bongos with his hands.
He even started using my ass for bongos when he joined a band.
He had never beat my butt like that before.
If you drink in your dad's house, your ass may be sore.

(This is a fictional poem.)

Bottoms Up!

In the spiritual quest for all that is best
I discover another who is seeking it too.
A superior material that's ripe for a touch,
To feel it and test it and kneel with it much.

And our fingertips linger and our palms are like psalms,
Measuring treasure, holding with pleasure,
The body so real of our holy ideal.
And the words pop, and the seekings stop.

O perfect independent, resplendent, so fine,
I draw you within me to drink you like wine.
And the feast of a lifetime thrills at our lips
And the sparkles are felt and the bubbles dealt.

One hundred percent proof is our stunning truth
And we are the drunkards full of our tankards.
O calm, clear-sighted, rational sun,
Material superior, integrity spun,

A new year is dawning, new life rushing on,
Achievements and profits, new promises sung,
And I have you and you have me,
And we are the bottle pouring so free!

Bottoms Up Is Not Easy Anymore

Take me to inner,
It has lot in store,
Let me concentrate,
A little now and later more,
Allow me to take the dive,
That ends nowhere but towards the end,
I want to live life bottoms up than upside down,
I wish to know the inner meaning and raison de etre,
Then look for where I want to build,
The lore has it that those tried to do so,
Stopped hands and began mind,
It all did help the mind,
It went the speed of light years,
To thoughts that took them right to core,
Exit back to up perhaps was very tough,
Once they knew the inner and core,
They all did not want to live ,
the way we all do,
any more.
