Premium Member I'm Sorry

I'm sorry about the thorns
I hope that these horns
will one day be left to burn

I've danced to my past mistakes
and now the real me is about to wake,
there's no simmering beauty of a lake
that's full of pollution and waste,
I need to forgive and live the human race

I've come to realize my infliction
is based on my bruising afflictions,
and my life needs special attention
as I've burned and axed the bridges,
No-one deserves my own decree

Premium Member Forest of Lost Dreams Felled

I wandered through the forest felled.
Its stumps arrayed as scars.
Its bird song larks forever quelled,
to axed-silent memoirs.

Remnants of trees are now a maze,
traced by entrails of mists.
Curling up as veils between leaves,
that once held memories.

The moon's face shunned, shamed.
The wind scurried all around,
the graves of trees blatantly maimed,
along paths no feet had ground.

The forest of trees, lost its leaves.
Lost its old trunks of dreams.
Lost all its shade and shadows cast,
to vast bright white clearings.

I saw the ancient remnant dells,
spared of incumbent trees,
get crowded out by death-neath spells,
of clearings, felled down to knees.

Premium Member Grief on Antidepressants

She seemed blitzed on happiness, weird to us
For she had just lost her husband, old man Gus
A smile split her face in a strange joyful way
He never had a chance, she told us, he never had a say

Doctor put her on antidepressants, her mother would explain
Before she got these pills, she was one huge pain.
Is this better? I asked, not understanding at all.
Oh, yes, she already axed up the dresser down the hall.

Mr Slim

He was a born teacher
From birth destined to be
You'd know by his phene.

In capitalist-run schools
He's taught for many years
Earning pennies for labour.

Three years a beneficiary
On stipend of N-power teach
The Program axed by corruption.

Then long a community teacher
He's rendering public service
For little pay out of community levy.

He's adept; he got more papers
Hoping for full employment
With satisfaction in the job.

He got a conversion to EdoStar
State-run, two-year probationer
On the barest wage.

On his appointment
In the civil service, he got
The news of his careerlong pursuit.

The government is youth-centric
On account of his age, maybe his status
Or affiliation, he's disqualified.

Meanwhile politikers in the council
Of politricks make millions
By the seconds chattering all day.

Premium Member Soozie, the Flamingo Floozie

She was dressed like a flamingo floozie
Her big boobs and booty ~ what a doozie!
Wearing a shade of pink
She flirted with a wink
I ran away from Wicked Witch, Soozie

Soozie was once a he-man. Way back when
Turned into a Barbie doll... do ya Ken?
Overdid the implants
Axed the bulge in her pants
I heard tell her name used to be Big Ben

*Finding a balance between writing humor and serious poetry.
I try but will never be as well-rounded as Soozie... Thank Goodness!

Premium Member Delete Me Please

You don’t like my politics, so you are deleting me.
How much more delighted could I possibly be?
I’d try to let you know, but of course, I have been axed.
Which is fine because my Facebook friends are kind of maxed.

You don’t like my religion, so we cannot be friends anymore.
I will miss you all of two seconds it takes to go out that door.
I would care a lot, if I did not care at all.
But this is the way I feel, doll.

A Scandalous Public Kiss of a Woman

A scandalous public kiss
A woman would gladly miss
And upon her forced hiss,
If she didn’t in her pants piss!

Openly, she has been axed;
For it wasn’t at all asked;
Her tolerance one has taxed
And one’s low esteem faxed

A stranger’s not–sought–peck
Of a woman’s not notified neck
While in some open deck
Bound to a relationship wreck;
And should it salacious stories sell
Cause give her to arrange you a cell:
She’s a maiden you’ve stripped of glory,
If not implied she could court The Gory…

Scandalous public kiss of a woman
Not an option for a gentleman…

Premium Member Gold Run

My granny’s bucket list included visiting Japan
She didn’t think that if she went she’d meet a nice young man
She went in twenty-twenty-one when covid rules relaxed
A man said can you help us or our contest might be axed

Gran leant on her walking frame and said you’re very kind
My bones all ache, my gait is slow, I have a failing mind
If you want a politician then I think that you might find
That I’m your girl but all things else would leave me way behind

The man said everybody’s sick, we don’t know what to do
The cleaning staff all tried to help but they’re all ailing too
We need some folk to help put on the show as per the plan
So pardon the expression dear, but granny, you’re the man

So he took her and her walking frame and showed her where to stand
She made off like a thing possessed because a gun went bang
She dropped the shawl that she had worn in case she felt the cold
And that is how, I kid you not, my grandma brought home gold!

Premium Member Axed

There was once a woodchopper
One day he came a cropper
While swinging his axe with glee
Pinned himself to a tree
I have just told a whopper

Premium Member Abandoned

how can someone not know you anymore?
forswearing the very thought
that you existed
a total disclaimer of your name
cease to acknowledge your being
in adjure denial
it’s incredible
when one disavows another
when one discards another
and your heart is torn, scraped
scrubbed out like a chalkboard
junked like something old and worn
you’ve been axed
ditched
quit

you’ve got to wash your hands of this
renounce depression
forgo the little reminders
avoid junk food
refrain from tears
lay aside time to heal
time for you to
relinquish
knowing this,
someone gave up
something of
great worth

If There Was No Poetry

If there was no poetry
I would visit ward psychiatry
For poems give energy
Free me from an allergy
When we vent our woes
Wonders wander with us
Nature gives insight much
Only to bounce back such

If there was no poetry
I would visit cemetery
For there I understand my symmetry
Apart from life’s geometry
When I compose verses
On current customs and crises
It makes me feel relaxed
With all worries axed

If there was no poetry
I would visit toiletry
For there I get ideas many
Only to pen in a manner funny
When we worship words
Love gushes like cattle herds
It makes us forget frustrations
And many small tribulations..!!

The Ghosts of Xmas Past May Seem To Taunt

After Xmas many people part
The bills appear, the credit card is maxed
Divorce appeals to those with strangled hearts

Is such action foolish, will it smart?
Do you really want your true love axed?
After Xmas many people part

The ghosts of Xmas past may seem to taunt
As if from some old wardrobe they’re unpacked
Divorce may leave us all with mangled hearts

Crude hate with its afflictions hits the charts
Can’t we focus more on love than lack?
After Feasts too many people part

Unlike the worms so humble in the dirt
We have faces angry and alert
Divorce may leave the hasty with sad hearts

Forgive but if you can’t, can you forget?
We expect so much of Xmas that it hurts
After Xmas many people part
Divorce appeals, oh, cheer your strangled hearts

Nintendo's Wii U Got a Bum Rap

Certain people hate the Wii U, they call it a piece of crap.
But I like the game console and I think it got a bum rap.
It's no XBOX One or PS4 but it's not an abomination.
I believe it was good and that's not an exaggeration.
Yes, a few of its games do stink, especially Paper Mario: Color Splash.
When I played that game, I'd get so mad that I wanted to throw it in the trash.
Nintendo released the Switch when they axed the Wii U.
People hated the console and so it was discontinued.
I hated to see the Wii U fail, it has become another Dreamcast.
Certain people hated the Wii U and now it's a thing of the past.
