Silverback

Silverback led his gorilla by the wrist
out into the fog and missed,
lost his heart and then his way,
sadly, he was heard to say,
"Don't get me wrong,
I'm no King Kong,
it's plain to see,
so, don't make a monkey out of me."

Silverback took his gorilla by the hand,
looking for the promised land,
a jungle bungle at very best,
made him roar and beat his chest,
"What can I say,
she's no 'Fay Wray,'
here on the ground
I'm an ape, I don't monkey around."

Premium Member overgrown Amazon Ape

The overgrown Amazon ape
With his furry tree trunk wide nape
Flew over wearing a red satin cape
Birds cringed at his cumbersome shape
He carried a bag made of crepe
In plum, fuchsia and possibly grape
A fancy one-of-a-kind hairy ape

Limericks

A scientist said to his mate
“We came from the line of primate!”
Said one of the men,
While waving his pen,
“Refer to yourself, not us, mate.”

An ape heard the scientist say
That men share the same gene as they.
The ape proudly said,
“You’d wish you were dead--
Insult us no more or you’ll pay.”

Premium Member the shrewdness of apes

The shrewdness of apes delights me so
I barely know where to turn, when to go.
They are more fun than a drift of hogs.
Who smell to high heaven, worse than dead frogs.

There is a school of fish that bothers me too.
They live next to the foxes in the hollow boot shoe.
Labor of moles are rolling their eyes at my plight.
Luckily the pride of lions has chosen to stay out of sight.

Us the Naked Ape

Us the *****sapiens,

Formed from the rich dust
of the Earth,

mixed with salty
tears,

Us the *****sapiens,

Who knows,
Only so well,

What it is too loose,

Us,
The naked Ape,

Scared,

Born with minds that need
to Know,

That seek to soften rock
With flowers,

Paint over emptiness
with living colours,

Us,
The longing Ape,

Who knows so well,

That the day is
short,

And that it must be
lived.

The apes are winning because they stole the fastest bike.
We are trying to keep up, but I am riding a rusty trike.
They are mountain climbing as fast as they can.
Come on! I urge my partner. Let’s be the man!

The apes are ahead, by too many laps to count.
They are laughing the day away on the bike they mount.
I am irritated now, for they are gloating so hard.
Come on! I urge my partner. Let’s move our lard!

The apes just won the contest, and the golden prize.
I was so angry, I could barely see out of my irritated eyes.
They got the purple ribbon, and they bragged away.
Frankly, my partner has had a much better day.

Surrendered

You can't from the well-guarded escape.
It should be a wonder mouths to gape,
Each warder to think self big Ape;
Maximum security Rape!

You dare not from the prison escape;
All days, after recapture, Grape,
Warders familiar with the landscape;
The things you say, your plans, your cough tape...

Gosh! I can see them all your hairs scrape,
In prickly clothes your flogged body drape
And sweat cause to break out on your nape
You don't when surrendered escape

Jewels Need To Ape No Jade

Nor a competing tournament
Nor yet a journey, life is meant
To be. Stay just as you were sent.

Everyone made is so unique,
You need from nowhere debt to seek,
Beg nor beseech nor feel so meek.

So keep walking your chosen way
Letting your mind nowhere to sway,
You'll reach your heaven one fine day.

In such a way He's once ye made—
Comparing nowhere go ahead,
A jewel you're, ye need ape no jade.

Arcane Factories Iii

Hear the horrific ape scream
along the seam of nightmares.
Something waits, gestates
dreams blackened, brutal.
Brittle things skitter, scurry, scamper away,
eyes of entities, deities wail.
Intellectual ape stares into the void,
things better left unknown
unloved never shown.
Along a beautiful barren land of cars,
bars and neon parking-lots
fester into desolate nights
heated from the Aftermath.

The Naked Ape

Dreamer paddle a transcendental canoe adrift somewhere
Granting immortality dryads require acquiescence abound
Truth unravel illusions urging heart to conquer primal fear
Awareness begs the naked ape to strive for higher ground

Mind senses advanced evolution sculpting surrealistic land
Indisputable claim heralds the exodus of unknown entities
Before the deluge alien artifact found beneath desert sand
Man can erode bias with pragmatic and moral objectivities

Archie the Ape
Was much maligned
This nice young fellow
Had a pink behind

The glare was amazing
So brightly it shined
Caused gawkers to stare
And totally go blind

Premium Member Her Favorite Ape

My favorite ape-ette just called me her favorite ape
My silliness has finally been recognized my mouth is agape
I can now rest in peace
This friendship won't cease
Us apes are tied at our conjunction till our last octava
