Premium Member Where are we going

Where are we going, an endless question in our minds,
Do science or destiny lead our ways?
Life takes several paths, some lead to despair, some to the glory,
Should we blame the failures in the name of destiny?

If we do not believe in destiny,
Let science be our guide,
Through telescopes, we gaze at the distant stars,
Unveiling secrets of worlds afar.
Genomes mapped, we trace our lines,
Understanding the code that intertwines.
Curing diseases, we push the bounds,
With each breakthrough, new hope resounds.

Robots and AI, our new frontier,
Ruling our lives as advancements near,
The future may be bright,
But soon learning hard way will be over,
It is a dangerous precedence,
AI influence on education should be legally controlled.

If we believe in destiny,
Let faith and understanding be our guide,
Our deeds(karma) will shape our destination,
You only have rights to your deeds, not their outcome,
In solemn moments, we should look within,
To find the divine, where it all begins.

Using Technology To Track Us

In the land where sunshine kisses the sand,
Florida's shores, a technological hand.
Through wires and waves, its eyes ever keen,
Tracking our steps, in this digital scene.

From Tampa Bay's gleam to Miami's bright glow,
Smart devices whisper, so the records can grow.
Data points captured, where we roam and wander,
An unseen web woven, our movements to ponder.

Satellites above, their watchful gaze,
Pinpointing our positions, tracking our ways.
Cameras on highways, peering through the night,
Capturing each moment, tucked out of sight.

Through algorithms and code, a watchful domain,
Florida's digital realm, a comprehensive campaign.
Our habits, preferences, every click and tap,
In the depths of servers, they securely map.

But let us not fret, for technology's reach,
Can also empower, bring knowledge and teach.
In this digital age, where boundaries blur,
Florida's advancements, a path to explore.

So, let us embrace, the wonders it brings,
The knowledge it shares, the songs it sings.
But mindful we stay, as guardians of our privacy,
In this realm of connectivity and great ingenuity.

Amendable Stake of Life Back In School

Schooling life- a main pursuit to learn,
Is surrounded by various impairments:
As much as catching fun-fill cruises, spurn!

Easier said than done- taking the right turn;
Good enough to measure apt adjustments,
Schooling life- a main pursuit to learn.

Goals avoid suffering consequential burn;
Been on phone longer than reading confronts-
As much as catching fun-fill cruises, spurn!

Aims widen scopes to balance grades concern
"Phone-'let there be light;' book- darkness affronts"
Schooling life- a main pursuit to learn.

Objectives object what football games yearn,
Both on field and view centre attachments,
As much as catching fun-fill cruises, spurn!

Late night matches during exams, pattern
Crying-read sleepy eyes' grace advancements...
Schooling life-a main pursuit to learn,
As much as catching fun-fill cruises, spurn!

Premium Member Old Man and a Baby

Whisper this in your baby's ear
science poses little fear.
Though still primitive and childlike,
it finds first tracks on which to strike.

Billions spent on science research
scantly more than a stumbling lurch.
Bright babies will topple toy towers
as Mom picks pieces up and glowers.

Twisted forces tempt to abuse
having doubts, deny and confuse -
truths used as toys, science as tools.
So the rest can be played for fools.

With all we know of life and earth,
clues about our universe's birth;
each new truth reveals another,
there's so much more to discover.

Few children dare to stare away
while others sit and play all day.
Babies do grow and take the veil;
when they learn, science shall prevail.

Premium Member The Travesty of Trump

I have lived through times of economic depression
Seen my country triumph over Japanese aggression,
Observed the demise of Russian communism
And seen great strides in undoing systemic racism.
I recall the first passenger jet flight from coast to coast
Of our space exploits and landing on the moon we boast,
I remember the first computers, the first cell phones
And now, I am seeing widespread usage of flying drones.
Medical advancements, MRI, C-Scans, too many to mention
Explosions of knowledge in all sciences boggle retention.
I remember when one could flag down a greyhound bus
Long before Interstate highways were a traveling plus,
F.D.R. was president when I was born in December ‘41
Some thought when he was in office, we’d all be done,
But we made it through Nixon and Watergate, still alive!
Through inflation, deflation, we have managed to thrive,
American ingenuity and enterprise get us over the hump
Now, if only, we can get through the travesty of Trump!

Broken Bond

I swear you’re haunting me even in death, I can feel your breath, breathing down my neck, I can’t catch a break even for a sec, you’re under my skin like some sort of insect, your hatred pours out in some of my sentences, so I’m asking what my sentence is, am I doomed to a hellish existence? What are my chances, of stepping out of your shadow and making real advancements, when every corner I turn I find another one of your abandonments, I just want to start again, get out of the pen, that you turned into a cage, I realized the bars existed at a young age, you never wanted me to escape, didn’t expect me to end up being brave, but I broke your mold, happiness isn’t bought or sold, it’s created through experiences both had and told, but lies only turn a young hopeful soul, into something bitter and old.

Premium Member Pondering the Future

Sometimes my mind wanders into the distant future,
Long after I will have departed from this vale of tears
And I ponder the problems my generation has created
Which we are leaving for our grandchildren to solve.
I consider the advancements in computer technology
During my lifetime, and wonder how far it might go,
Whether in one hundred years robots will be in charge
Humans will be slaves, perhaps, no longer in demand,
Expendable commodities, with many clones of a genus
Then I think, perhaps, I have completely lost my mind.

Short Yet Fiercely Lived

Things seem different
This spring
The same sakura petals
Heart shaped
Short lived
But
There is something breathtaking
About a short yet fiercely
Lived existence
One of the things
that don’t change every year
A sense of relief
Living in a time of unease
In the air of spring
In an age of advancements
Close yet so far away
Sitting in solitude
As the
Spring turns into summer
When we leave our doors
Each and everyone of us
Will be together
As one and all
And all for one

Conspiracy

All the while, I speculated
What we had was concluded
The glare of enormity
Was in your eyes
It caused an combustion
Of covetousness to appear
Inside of me that I thought
Was long gone
But without you I’ve
Really been all alone
Another simple filling in
Your space.... but he could
Never replace the love
I’ve always had for you
Just gazing into my eyes
You should know this is true
There is no resistance
When it comes to you
I could not contend with
Your advancements of sensualism
Your firm groping
Of my derrière
Reminded me of my femininity
And of your masculinity
I have no doubt
We were meant to be
What am I supposed to do
With this craving I have for you
It is worse than any enslavement
Around you I just can’t seem to behave
You have this noose around my neck
And I don’t see how I will ever get loose

Language

We created a language in which we communicate ideas and advancements

We created a language out of abstract sounds and shapes.

The same language that can enhance us not only as people, but as a species!

Isn't that insane?

The fact that 26 little shapes have become what we refer to as the alphabet.

The face that these shapes have been categorized into our literal building blocks into words that are also abstract sounds that have carried us into this conversation and I into writing this free verse poem from late night conversation with again, abstract sounds!

Insane! The abstract sounds have created the same sentences and stanzas in which we poured our hearts out into as poets.

We create and we reiterate with these sounds.

We can even make them rhyme around the same sound called a syllable, these words could kill in their natural form provoking an emotion that creates more words poking and prodding at the next's heart strings right in their very body!
And they wouldn't even know what hit them, the abstract sounds triggering high school memories instead of their previous happy thoughts.

Words. Words can..

Words.

Interconnected, cyber psychology, we are all victims of advancement,
technological innovations pushed down our throats like harassment.
Who are they, who goes bump in the night,
metaphorical emissions, magnetic might.

Brain waves emit electrical pulses,
nano technology riding the invisible waves of caution.
The electromagnetic spectrum, neither friend nor enemy,
the infrastructure has been built, will it one day be rent free?

Dark nets, heist, scams, and piracy,
cyber wars, computer worms, electronic conspiracy.
Who dares to centralize a decentralized system,
red herrings and distributed denialism.

Your kung fu may be strong like a glass of Cognac,
but every six months a new technology is guaranteed to be hacked.
But don’t hold back, these issues creates jobs,
technological advancements, anti-pop culture mobs.

Android Pleasures

Android Pleasures

Androids take on actions of their own these days
As intellectuals of the highest order
With all the advancements in science and technology
These thinking machines remain the same in other ways
They still have no feelings and no gender
But this point makes them perfect candidates as counselors
Free to talk on politics and sex
Educating people, helping them to be friends
Help them become better partners in the bed
They are brave to talk on intimate sexual parts and sexy things
Being they have none of their own
New nude positions are their specialty
They are pure geniuses on naughty anatomy
Androids charge as much as lawyers do
In fact, much more
For services rendered in the end
Are you sure they are not human?
I feel like I’m being screwed
Does this job come with a lube?
