David Pekrul was born in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada and raised and educated in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada.
He spent most of his adult life working in the travel industry, first as a Travel Consultant, then with a major Canadian airline and retired in October 14, 2005.
Prior to his career in travel, David attended Bible College, played trumpet, both solo and in amateur groups, and preached whenever asked.
Since retirement he has tried a few different jobs, just trying to find out what he wants to really do. He has worked in a funeral home and crematorium, front desk at a hotel, dispatcher for a moving company and projectionist at a theatre. In 2007 he went back to working in a funeral home again, as a Funeral Attendant, Cremationist and Funeral Celebrant, and knows that is the job he was always meant to do.
David wrote his first poem in February, 2004, as an Anniversary card for his wife, Linda. What started as a small act of love turned into a love-affair with words, and he soon realized that if used properly, they can paint a picture as well as any artist.
The pictures that his words paint may not always be pretty, but they are pictures worth viewing, for he writes about the world around him, whether they be things good, bad or otherwise. He also writes about family, nature, God and faith.
