I Believe In Man

Upon a hill, he looked around,
And said, "There is no God",
He said there wasn't any proof,
And it was just a fraud.

He pointed to a world in strife,
With hunger, pain and war,
As nations fought their fellow-men,
And discontentment soared.

He saw much sickness and disease,
As many people died,
He saw corrupted government,
As other people lied.

He shook his fist and cursed the sky,
"You're not the great I AM",
And God looked down with love and said,
"Yet I believe in Man."

I made him to be just like Me,
To know the right from wrong,
And free expression he was given,
To make him proud and strong.

I've shown Myself in what I've made,
The Sun, the Stars, the Moon,
And over all this wonderous Earth,
My Presence I have strewn.

It wasn't Me who made disease,
Or hunger, pain and war,
For Satan is your nemesis,
His actions I deplore.

And man's free-will has jeopardized
The many things I planned,
Instead of building on the rock,
He built upon the sand.

Yet I am always looking out,
For those who praise My name,
For those who show their gratitude,
Instead of pointing blame.

For you can always call on Me,
And I will hear your prayer,
Just trust in Me with all your heart,
And you will know I care.

Great piece that tells it like it and hopefully puts blame where it should be yet offers great hope if we chose to grasp it. Sorry I have not checked your work out for a while. Best regards David in NZ

A wonderful testament to your faith, David. Although I may not like the outcome, it will be good to see Him one day:)
