Confirmations

As I sit in the silence, by my choice,
I wait to hear, my favorite voice.
That gentle whisper, in the midst, you see,
as He begins speaking to me, in poetry.
I have my paper and my pen,
for I never know, when He will begin.
I write down, what He speaks to me,
and in each one, are truths you see.
Truths that makes life better, all the way around,
these truths were sought for, before they could be found.
They all may seem so simple, till you try to do,
but as you work through them, they become a part of you.
Things are not always, as they seem to be,
so I write about them, in my poetry.
He took the foolish things, to confound the wise,
as the truths they twist, just to make them lies.
He takes the smallest things, to overpower the strong,
as He makes right, where we once were so wrong.
He wants us to see Him, as a Father, because He cares,
and in words of poetry, His love He shares.
If you believe in God, then you know my words are true,
for the words in my poetry, is a confirmation, to you.
You know exactly, what I mean you see,
because He is a Father, to both you and me!

True love is rare

Love you
Love me
I do
We'll see
How much
Whole lot
missed touch
Love sought
It's been
Many years
We seen
Joy,tears
Still there
Me too
I care
About you
We communicate
That's key
Don't hate
I'm sorry
We can
Work through
Can't stand
Fighting you
Love true
Will persevere
Me,you
Still here
Love true
rare find
You do
Hold bind

Premium Member Standdown Day

Standdown Day
USS Coral Sea—Spring 1979
standdown day
no flights
alone I stand upon flight deck
three football fields long
thousands of tons of solid steel

an insignificant gray speck
upon the bounding main
below decks five thousand sailors
and marines on a mission
some scramble, others grind on
some sleep
fourteen-hour days
seven days straight
now standdown day
dusk

gulf water mirror still
a vivid rainbow spans in
a high, full, majestic arc
horizon to horizon

night

below decks I pass berthing
areas crowded with
bed racks stacked three high
eerily quiet for a crammed
metal city

I must work through the
Night and into the morning

Looking forward always to
The next port

a spring of melted snow

This existence, a marvel of the creative mind, is to find ourselves living in a world of possibilities. The dualism of yin and yang creates a vast arena for personal growth. The viable stage of real-life experiences colors our time here and in the depths of Shakespearean melodrama that make up the days of our lives, dictating the value of a life that ends in death. Other entities that we share the details of this existence with, the life, love, and the path best taken to reach that perfect place, not an easy affair to work through the trials that make it all worthwhile. To break on through to the other side, where the finish line and loved ones patiently await our triumphant return!

The Tutu and the Gown: A Fairy's Dilemma

Roaming in the corridor,
The fairy chuckled,
Mesmerized by the beauty of her own dress,
She grew self-assured in her little fairy school.

The multi-colored tutu,
inlaid with wild flowers;
Rivaled her silver sandals,
Which gleamed like her sparkling wings behind.

Then came the final day,
Bidding farewell to her tiny realm,
She moved ahead.

With sadness and excitement intertwined,
She decided to work through,
Until she became the best.

The moment she stepped into the real world,
She realized,
The tutu she wore was nowhere near the fairy gowns.
The praise and love she once received had faded into lies.
Maybe the tutu she wore was the best tutu, but not the best gown.

Carrying the weight of sudden change,
She still chose to enhance her tutu’s grace.
She rushed to the fashion store and cheerfully exclaimed:
"Get me the Cancan underskirt, fabric and shimmery pearls packed!"

The seller shot her an irksome look,
and Demanded fifty golden bricks.

The helpless fairy turned hopeless,
For she could have earned those bricks—
Only if she had a fluffy gown dress.

Premium Member Save Our Marriage

My love, my heart
You're my shining star,
It's In your eyes,
That my soul goes far.

Our marriage, a flame
that's burning bright,
I want to save our marriage
Make it last through the night.

We've shared laughter,
And all of our fears,
Through every storm,
we've dried each other's tears.

Our bond is strong,
And our love is true,
I want to hold on to it,
This me and you.

These ups and downs,
We've had them all
But with you, my love,
Is where my heart does fall

I want to work through
Our troubles and strife,
And rebuild our love
So it will last for life.

You're my life partner,
My friend and soulmate too,
Forever with you is what
I'm dreaming of, it's true.

Let's save our marriage,
And let's make it new,
You and I Together,
Forever, me and you.

I love you more
with each passing day,
In your arms is where
I long to always stay.

Let's hold on tight
And never let go,
And make our love one
That will forever grow.

Plumbers Monologue

I am a plumber,
CDM is my companies name,
The initials belong to my sons,
They may work with me one day.

I had a LARGE WHITE van,
Before Covid made all of the
Prices lower.

Later I tried to get different work, a variety,
But I partnered with a no- good man,
And I lost it all again.

I had insurance so I kept the house, the family home,
I said to the no-good man-
DON’T WORRY ‘BOUT ME!
Like the words in a song,
You just carry on and I’ll get along.

So here I am now,
I’m working again,
I managed to keep my head up,
And to work through the pain!

My Moments of Silence

           fly away self-will
  fly to the hindermost
       fly out of return reach

  beyond being in control.
        beyond wanting to be heard
                beyond demanding to teach

                        come Spirit of God
                   come show me your way
              come work through non-speech

  in fervent passion
     in humble attitude
        in honesty heard

                             thou my one wisdom
                      thou my one restraint
               thou my one Lord

                                 one in timely thought
                                 one in doing deeds
                                 one with or without words

That Brightest Of Mornings

Turn not your heart
from the suffering around you
Close not your eyes
to the pain that you see

Reach out to others
in love and compassion
and you shall become
all that you're meant to be

A vessel of blessing
the Almighty can work through
A conduit of hope
for the hopeless to seek

A flash of warm light
through the blackness abounding
that touches the lost
the lonely, the weak

Though long be the night
the dawn fast approaches
and with it the end
of tyranny's reign

So glorious shall be
that brightest of mornings
the darkness can nevermore
visit again

Tit for Tat

If everyone gave tit for tat,
Who knows where we would all be at
For every slight that we perceive
Bounced back to make another grieve
Would keep the cycle going ‘til
We finally would have our fill

Which would be never, for to reach
Another’s heart across the breach,
We need a willingness to bend
And then, before we reach the end,
There must be someone waiting there
To take the time and really care.

Until that day, there’ll always be
A lack of opportunity
To work through feelings that arise
When one may, cluelessly, surmise
A disregard and therefore, that
Will cause another tit for tat.

Just one more beer

Time passes slowly when the mind is clear
But when the mind gets muddled, like mint in a jar,
There never seems enough liquor by far
And you tell yourself just one more beer
To fill an lonely Saturday night
For try as One might
The thoughts and trauma nightmares
Come creeping with regret
Bringing you down a hole you wanted to forget
To the darkest days or false glimmers of hope
That you've healed inside and are able to cope
With life's ups and downs as the years float by
When your throat is so sore and your eyes want to cry but are barren and dry
Because you're twisted with anxiety
And hate to be a liar
Why can't you just be normal
Is it genes or inner turmoil
That wants to fill this never-ending glass
To drink away the past
So you empty your bottle into the drain
And decide again to work through the pain
Instead of drinking it away for another day

Premium Member A Hard Reset

The ecosystem of cyberspace;
I am left wanting to latibulate
high atop this swaying tree;

Similar to a spider who’s web
holds on to a bug for dear life;
Knowing it eventually has to eat;

An information storm capitulates
to a swarm of winged freedom fighters;
After all, they are willing to kill the power;
Force a hard reset;

A darkening cloud above warns
of a dangerous infiltrating worm;
There is no recovery from this virus;

All the droplets of water wasted
within contaminated cumulonimbus;
Sustenance won’t be found there;

An information storm capitulates
to a swarm of haloed freedom fighters;
After all, they are willing to kill the power;
Work through a hard reset.

The encouragement to be my best

We all need help, kindness and support. No one can get through life alone. Remember that you're worthy of kindness and encouragement; love and happiness. Blessings.

The encouragement to be my best
By Michelle Morris
07/03/2024

I didn't want you to save me
I just wanted a helping hand
I didn't want all the answers
Just advice and understanding

Because sometimes we just need solace
Some shelter from the storm
A friend to lean on and listen
While we work through our journey home

A reflection of honesty and support
Guidance and wisdom and perspective
When we're too close to the fray
We can get lost and it feels distressing

So, remember that there's no need to save me
I'm not a damsel in distress
But I appreciate your kindness and patience
The encouragement to be my best

Premium Member Perseverance

Competing against windy air
Doing its best to stay in flight
Wondered why it would even dare
As it wrestled with all its might

Pretty bird that was very small
A newborn of very few days
Yet the small, feathered one gave all
To make it through the turbulent maze

It perched on the lamp by my door
Worn from fighting with gravity
Thought, would my guest stay or just soar
To prove profound tenacity

My weathered friend with spirits high
Left the haven by my back door
Found its way back into the sky
Braver and stronger than before

Mother Nature’s lesson is true
The moment we become alive
Until life ends and our work through
One must persevere to survive

As A Child of God

As a child of God, I awoke one day,
The pain & fear had gone away.
With tears of joy running down my cheek,
No the devil won't win I must defeat.

I had a spiritual encounter with our God up high.
Took an oath to warn about our Lord Jesus Christ.
He's coming back for us his chosen ones.
This is the end of times yeah the devil is done.

As a child of God I'm on my way,
Around the world to preach about the God who saves.
I've been saved by grace no I cannot lie.
There's a love I feel I can't deny.

I vowed to preach the gospel everywhere I go.
Come rain or shine and seasons of snow.
Repent for your sins while you still have time.
For evil will corrupt your life and mind.

As a child of God let your will be done,
Do your work through me our precious Holy one.
Salvation comes from the Lord above.
While demons flee from the God of love.

You have to mean what you say and turn from sin.
Cause when you're half way in the devil still wins.
