It's You vs The Whole World

I build a home in people,
And people leave.
My story never matches,
With the writer of destiny.

The moment you realise,
It's you versus the whole world,
You stop explaining your tears.

I don't know why people treat me
Like I have no feelings,
When I feel everything,
A little too much.

I asked for love,
They gave me lessons.
I asked for stay,
They gave me goodbyes.

Still, I write.
Because my diary never left.

power of Economy vs Innocence

sobriety is what it means to breathe life back into the Dead
shame having filled their lungs with toxic fumes
living unalive while the sky is fifty shades of Blue
through self-indulgent deeds the devil let himself into the house without an address
squatters rights in your mind
I'm sorry no I don't get that context
this is the power of economy versus innocence
hurry hurry step right up get your tickets here
obscured unstable thoughts playing out within the furrows and crypts
reflection in the mirror
 pupils dilate as I focus
but either way you spin it I'm spun

Premium Member Hee-hawing -- City vs Country Mouse

Country mouse’s unrestrained giggles drew the attention
of city mouse, too sophisticated to mention

that his cousin’s hee-hawing had city mouse
whipsawing between guffawing and prissy pretension

Premium Member Free Will vs Determination DHR

I try to move on my free will I have prime aim to attain my goal
not allowing any interference. I'm always decisive
I believe, my life is mine. I choose own path to proceed.
Free Will’ is my priority. Any way I won't support any whims.
Each adverse comment I can ignore. I won't deviate from my motto of life.
My ‘Free Will ‘may be purposeless I stick to my decision .
I won't bother whether ‘Free Will’ harms others My steps to honour my determination.
‘ Free Will ‘ tries to dominate. ‘Determination ‘stands above ‘ Free Will.’
‘ Free Will’ fails to overcome ‘Determination’ Self confidence is focused on Determination’ I wish to live under shadow of ‘Free Will’ . Life is based on Determination’.Next comes ‘Fee Will’

Premium Member Batters Gave Up Even Tryin' vs Koufax and Ryan

The two most dominant baseball pitchers of their eras
On the mound, neither was cute or clever

              Each reared back and fired
No matter if they were dead-tired

              Sandy Koufax and Nolan Ryan
Most batters gave up even tryin’

The great Yogi Berra once said
I understand how Koufax won 25 games last year”
But how he lost five games just isn’t clear”

Koufax deemed Ryan’s lack of pinpoint control his secret weapon
He labeled Ryan a wild bombardier
Who won games because his wayward 100 mph pitches instilled fear

Wasn't the Herd Complete Without Me? (Part 1)

Part One

They say some people have more patience than others. I'm not sure that's true. People are only patient at pretending. The right word isn't patient - it's people-pleaser. That goes for you, and it goes for me.

Someone once said that to understand yourself, you must first understand others. I am aching for this season to end. I just want to understand myself - to help this poor, tired soul.

I can't compete with your definition of a "perfect moon" - because I was never even a moon. I never the chance, nor even a glance.

I doubt I ever felt at home - at home, or anywhere else. And if I did, was I playing music out loud? Was I bay holding up a smile? Or was I, just for once, unaware of my own appearance - finally, quietly, at ease?

Sometimes you think if we remove this actor from the stage, all eyes will finally be on you. But those eyes were only ever on you because of that actor.

Premium Member England vs Argentina

The grass is the same in Buenos Aires and London
Argentina presses as Messi runs
National feelings, reduced to action
millions of fans with opposite reactions
England breathless as Kane goes to score
Argentina or England? Who will win one more?
One team will lose, and the other reach for glory
We're nearing the end of the World Cup story

INTJ vs ESFP

I chart her moves and tides,
Probability’s my only guide.
Every glance, her every sigh—
The script I know
Before she even tries.

She walks on chaos in heels,
A hurricane wrapped
In fake emotional feels.
She winks—I calculate—
She laughs—I hesitate—

She says "yes" and means "no,"
Points left when she oughta go.
Logic cracked like broken glass—
Built walls while she kicks my ass.

I wrote rules and drew the lines,
She paints outside them every time.
"Let’s talk"—I try to dissect—
She says nothing –So what’s next?"—

Tried chess moves every night,
She ate the pawns
And said "They tasted alright."
I’m stranded in her storm,
Out maneuvered
By her stupid form

She says "yes" and means "no,"
Points left when she oughta go.
Logic cracked like broken glass—
Built walls while she kicks my ass.

I solved for X but she’s a Y,
A question mark with laughing eyes.
She burns graphs, breaks my code—
Leaves me lost on this lonely road.

LOVE VS LIE

Love - so fragile and yet so strong
Limitless ways expressed in poetry or song
To describe such a word as powerful as "love"
Words fall short - even in heaven above -
To remotely begin to condense the intensity
Of such emotion with such profound density.
A swirling whirlpool of descriptive adjectives
In agreement and subjective additives,
Cannot ever describe the strongest element
As fragile as porcelain and as sheer relevant
As the keen-eye of a cuckoo bird.
Unlmited artists and lovers at a loss for words
To describe the essence of "love" - it's absurd!
Yet, they all fall short and at a loss
As their minds boggle and toss
Back and forth - to and fro

Is such a search necessary or should we just let go?
Just saying, "I love you," is it suffice to set it free
Or demonstrate love with our mere actions and let it be?
So strong, so brave, so tall, so elegant
So fragile, so sensitive, so kind, so relevant!
So tender, so gentle, and still yet so humble
That love's only blackhole stumble
Is when it is placed in the presence of a single lie...
Because love is 100% true reality
A lie is definitely love's fatality!

Premium Member ownership vs slavery

(a series of Senryu poems)

We no longer own
our music or software, we
we rent them - subscribe

Think streaming music,
productivity software,
like 365.

A company can
make one product and never
innovate again.

Once, you’d buy software
and they’d have to win your bucks
with something improved

But now you fee pay
monthly, forever - or you
lose that whatever.

Homes are out of reach
so people rent apartments,
Ubers replace cars

Think of subscriptions
as techo slavery, we
need alternatives

None of us can change
the housing situation
unless we team up

And elect people
who aren’t total thieves and fools
enriching themselves

It’s a crazy thought,
I know - are we capable
of it anymore?

Premium Member Swagger vs Surf

Beach bum in August felt wild in the breeze,
strutted 'round trying to appease the seas.
He posed with his beach flip-flops,
   did daring loops and hip-hops~
‘till waves proved his swagger was just a tease.

Want vs Right

There once was a man

He was birthed with bad defects

He could not feel from the waist down, nor did he have much of his legs

His skin was thin and stretched, making even the air feel like piercing needles

Moonlight feeling like an inferno

And he never knew what sunlight felt like

As he lived in a basement

A basement containing the cage he was binded with

He was cared for by his mother and father

She bathed and cleaned him, while his father worked for money

They were very kind souls, who he loved dearly

Through speech, pictures and videos, he lived a life he could never have

He was shown all that he envied for

This frustrated him, leaving him simmering in malice for the reason he was born corrupted

One day, the man was approached with a deal by a wizard

If he sold out his parents' life savings, he'd heal his body

Conflicted, stuck between his Want for a normal body and the Right of protecting his parents

He told the wizard his answer
