Undesired

The feelings,
They hold the forte,
The feelings,
They come out of the chambers,
The feelings,
They're like a tempestuous sea,
He fights to put them under,
They sneak out and trouble him sore,
He wrestles to lock them up,
They break loose and perplex him,
Phantom beings reside in him,
Two sides in one,
Strange thoughts contest to take the wheels,
They shapeshift and metamorphose,
He seeks a way out of the jungle,
He steers his ship to come to land,
The mystery behind walls,
The human curse.

Too Much Noise

Seeing people a bit differently
Their words plans and actions
Not always good deeds
With their careless reactions

Too much noise fogging my head
Want to shield my ears
stuff em up with some bread

They talk so loudly
Building themselves up
Walk around so proudly

When ignorance was bliss
Had nothing to miss

Conscience has new being
Words have much meaning
The reassuring feeling
That calmness brings healing

GREAT PERSONS

At last I found a thief stealing my thoughts, as great persons think alike.

Out of the Mouth of Babes

Nobody’s made me out a fool
Like three year olds in Sunday School.
One day I thought I’d sound real wise
And asked, “Who here likes butterflies?”

All hands shot quickly to the sky,
“I saw a yellow butterfly!”
“They eat the nectar from the flowers.”
These kids, I swear, had super powers!

“Bees turn nectar into honey,
The bee guy sells it for his money!”
“My cousin’s mom got stung last week!”
“But honey’s good, its really sweet!”

“Chocolate’s sweet, it causes wrecks!”
“Mama says its better than sex!”
“Six is my favorite number today!
Today’s my cousin’s sixth birthday!”

Like butterflies from flower to flower
Their comments wandered for an hour
From butterflies and honey bees
To birds and squirrels in the trees.

Then Airplanes, clouds and astronauts.
“And ants live in the parking lot!”
I’ve been to college; three degrees!
Sometimes I wish that I were three.

Three Year Old Thoughts

I've worked with children all my days,
The things they say sure do amaze.

"How did the baby get in you?
Will it come out with your poo?"

"You'll need much more loo paper than me,
Your bottom is so big you see."

"Why's that man got a towel* on his head,
Has he just got out the shower?" she said.

"Granny's got a prickly chin,
When she kisses it hurts my skin."

"When I'm grown up how will I know
To talk like you." she said in woe.

In the garden she did appear,
A sanitary towel to her head adhered.

"You said they're for headaches." she said with pride.
Oh my goodness how I cried.

On a visit to the beach,
"Not that sandpit." she did beseech.

"Oh no the bridge has got a leak."
When she saw a puddle underneath.

"I banged my head." she did shout,
"All my little thoughts will come out."

Oh children, children I do decree,
That life is fun when you are three.

Good morning Mommy and Dad
Today I will try not to be bad

I don't know what I want to eat
No! Not that cereal. It's not sweet

Mommy, I don't wanna sit on the baby pot
How come you don't have what Dad I and got

I need a lot more track to play with my train
Mommy, why can't I go out and play in the rain

Why does the cat always run away from me
I didn't mean to pull out her hair, not really.

I need to fix my bike with Daddy's tool
Addy is my favorite girlfriend at school

I don't know why I got into trouble
I just poured out my bottle of bubbles

I'm NOT a baby. I'm big 'cause I'm three
I gotta go to the potty and make pee pee

No. It's not my bath time yet.
I don't know when it is. I forget

But Daddy, I don't want to go to sleep
I can only count as high as ten sheep

I want the pajamas with Lightning McQueen
He's the fastest race car I ever seen

Daddy, read me a story then leave on the light
I love you, Mommy and Daddy. Good night

Lest You Err

What world most rejoices and comforts you?
What grieves your heart and disturbs your mind most?
Does the quest for beauty bewitches you?
And yes, embraces your vanity the most?

There must be such a heaven to dwell in,
The pathway to perfect felicity,
A place of pleasure and prurient sin
Enticing a feeble heart to folly.

If you are willing to commit a fault
So you should be content to make amends
And bring this deceitful wile to a halt
Before a shadow of despair descends.

Grieve at the imperfection of the man
Quashing good judgment whenever he can!

Quote 2: "A Course in Miracles"-(You may believe that you
are responsible for what you do, but not for what you think.
The truth is that you are responsible for what you think,
because it is only at this level that you can exercise choice.
What you do comes from what you think.)

It is in the grey of icy evenings
When those dimly-lit wishes seem to fade,
A bitter nip, a woe this season brings
The chafing of hope's ardor, delayed.
Even though I grieve during the passage
Of summer’s festive and vigorous trails
How could I not ponder on this new stage;
As the quiet of misty Fall unveils
Reflective pauses where breaths gently ease
The dark and long wait of unanswered squall;
Endowing thoughts with a hymnal reprise
And, guiding stillness with poise that enthrals.

It must be the cold flakes in dusk-like stent
That restores hope with godly contentment.

A Penny For Your Thoughts

I scan the sky and wonder if
The stories can be true,
That aliens are coming here,
Encountered by a few.

My mind begins to ponder stuff,
Like vampires, ghouls and ghosts;
Do people really see those things,
Or are they idle boasts?

I think about the kiss we shared;
The way she held my hand.
I’m scared of getting hurt again,
But will she understand?

"I believe in true love. But my opinion is tainted, because I also believe in Bigfoot, aliens, and in the existence of honest politicians."

Inspired by the following quote: "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved." — Helen Keller

Why am I crying now; there must be a reason
Is there something my conscious mind’s trying to hide
Or could it simply be this humid, warm season
The torment of seeking answers can’t be denied

There are days when I wake with a smile on my face
Grateful for many blessings that have been bestowed
But after nightmares, I feel I’ve fallen from grace
Anomalies exist in my genetic code

Like my Mom, I struggle to break from depression
Never understanding why feelings overwhelm
Perhaps I pay for a forgotten transgression
Is it a smile or a frown today at the helm

Sometimes I have tendencies to internalize
But the causes of these I cannot analyze

My Light Source

The Lord's voice radiates through my thoughts and soul
Igniting joy, He shines brighter than the sun
Creation astounds me, His name I extol
Rising to celestial glory, when day's done

Falling into inner thoughts, my private place
The source of the love I share in His embrace
Walking in love through the garden of the Lord
Gently bestowed in light, splendor I implore

The Power of Our Thoughts Contest

Millions suffer everyday,
With depression anxiety addiction and compulsions
Therapy and drugs may calm the symptoms
But the root of the problems
Lie deep in one’s mind.

Suffocating each thought with torment and distress
A sick soul is what needs to be properly addressed
Take each thought captive and put it under arrest
Fill each negative thought with a positive
 learn to rewire and undress.

Start with every second and watch how your thoughts will change
Bringing about better behaviors and complete healing to one’s brain
This plagues that so many have battled with for so long
Give it to God and change those old undertones

For we were born to live in great peace
Even if the world around us has constant grief
We are victorious when we start to believe His truth
Sever the ties to any trouble from your youth

No one escapes the tests in this life
But when we learn how to conquer
We can achieve all that’s ours
So start each day with a positive view
It never hurts to try something new.
