Premium Member A BABY'S SMILE

When we see a baby’s smile…what is it we actually see?
Is it their beauty, their trust in us…their innocence, their joy, their purity?

Do we see happiness, satisfaction, peace and serenity?
Do we see comfort, virtue, delight…do we see love and harmony?

Or, perhaps that baby’s sunny smile… is a little more than what it seems…
Perhaps we see the shadow of our hopes…a reflection our dreams.

Perhaps their smile is there to remind us who we were…
when life was comfortable…when we were trusting, innocent and pure.

Perhaps that smile is a touchstone…a chance for us to see
who we have become…and wonder…is this the person I want to be.

A chance to revel in the moment…happy we’ve come so far….
satisfied with our life, our loves, our choices…and exactly who we are…

And if we’re not…a chance to do something about it….a time to rearrange…
A baby’s smile is an innocent way of showing is…it’s not to late to change.

A reminder it is our job…our duty…as members of the human race….
to do our very best…to put a smile on every baby’s face.

Sunny smile, beanie baby
Drunk and fuzzy, oh so gone
Binge on uppers, feeling hazy
Won’t even answer your phone

When you take them you feel better
Like a bird or star, so free
If we cut open your center
There’ll be jewels for eyes to see

Milk turned sour, by the hour
Numbers stamped into your skin
Bloom and whither like a flower
Limbs in needles and in pins

Sucking on it like a candy
It stopped feeling like it’s fun
Some cheap , nothing too fancy
Makes all of your fingers numb

Choke a girl out, what a cop out
Cops on your ass, flying heels
Crawl back to him, ask for bailout
You don’t practice your ideals

You were youthful when you knew me
In our house you were the child
Now your body’s all mildewy
Didn’t know you’d go expired

Premium Member Silence Of The Lambs At School

The school bell rang and out they came, fiddling,
all the while, a bright sunny smile bursting,
out in the playground then contemplating,
what more fun and games are there for playing,
teachers looked at the hush field, pondering,
ado of the silence of the lambs, thing,
thought their indulgence will be, obliging,
their final idea was exciting,
the playground alive till school bells ringing,
inside happy kids, with teachers, fiddling.

Premium Member Find Me

When air no longer flows in my lung
And the last of my life song is sung
Look for me in every heart beat
Of your childrens kids in everything

See me in a strangers sunny smile
Know I would want you to be so proud
Of my cheery ways and bubbly greeting
You find in time yourself repeating

Find me in a cherry corny joke
That like a fairy makes magical note
Of how laughter cures or gives hope
To disaster we deliver to holy ghost

See me in church mosque kingdom hall
Helping the lost make sense of it all
Find me in the last song we sang
In the jokes we told as we played games

Find me in your mirror gazing back
So much nearer the majestic black
Soul never fearer of your strength
Find me alive and born again.

Premium Member Spreading Happiness

Spring is here!
Planting time is too.
Replenish and revive
Embracing life anew,
And relish being alive.
Dive in with delight; plant seeds of your own.
In this way, joy can be sown.
Nourish those seeds with your special style.
Grow flowered gladness with your sunny smile.

Hate can have no place in your garden space.
A haven of sweetness you must grow.
Pleasing peonies, precious primrose and
Perky pansies
In your garden you will show
Nodding in a warming April breeze.
Everybody then who
Sees the product of your glad pursuit
Shall also feel the need to follow suit!

Premium Member A Love Song

I will always love you; I can’t help. . . it.
You came like sunshine- stunning the snow . . . my love.
You left; then snow had all melted away.
Oh, you’d fled from my sight; gone was my sweet ray.
Where have you gone? Oh, I miss you so much.
I can’t bear it.

Interlude music

I think of you and poems can blossom,
Still they need sunshine. It’s not the same . . . dear love.
Snow still can melt; flowers bloom. I don’t care.
For nothing I know takes the place of your touch.
Oh bring back your sunny smile.
Let me melt like the snow.

(I tried to match the lyrics to the piano notes that are high
and seem to carry the main melody)

From Barren To Garden

My heart was like a barren land,
deprived of being loved and loving emotions
that could quench my drought of loneliness.
Thorny bushes of doubt and despair
pricked me day and night,
leaving me helplessly to bleed pain.

It all changed when you came in my life
like heavy monsoon; raining adoration.
Light of your sunny smile, your warm embrace,
showers of your dewy kisses
tended my heart with care and kindness
into a full bloomed garden of love.

At the core of my heart is our secret arbour
where our souls take shelter to enjoy
as each blossom unfolds hidden pleasure
with fragrance of romance and nectar of love
for us to partake as much we could.
It's an ultimate jouissance - quest of every lover.

……...…Here’s One Sunny Smiley-
…….In these times as we need to be
….How can you be grim intense grumpy
.I mean look at any grinning monkey Oops-
In good spirit; I do not mean to be offending
In this era, humans express themselves happy
Cheers! You’re on screen: Spread happiness
It’s your digital responsibility: Thy social footprint
Spread Light n Joy; You just returned from dentist
Buddha smiled; at least once; Jesus was dead pan!
Sorry about Jesus, but Barabbas wears- A big smile
I checked Wiki, there is A portrait- Of Barabbas
Seems as the photo was taken with A selfie stick
Shankara-CharyA; ever placid None saw him grin
Ok Gandhi: Was caught guffawing; How about-
Mozart, Plato, Aristotle,Van Gogh; Stoic looks
Didn’t they smile? Do you notice OurTagore
And that weirdo Einstein: so unfit so unsocial
.These guys had no idea of upcoming future
…Silly. They just did not know how to selfie.

Premium Member Spring Dances O'Er the Fields

Spring Dances O’er The Fields

All dressed in her yellow gown,
     Petalled cape and duckling down,
     Spring dances o’er the fields
     And dances through the town.

Then she whispers to the honey bees,
That Summer’s stirring through the trees
Who tell the birds in budding leaves,
Who sing it to the woodland breeze.

Now Summer dressed in petalled gown,
With sunny smile and golden crown
     Dances o’er the fields
     And dances though the town

Premium Member Atmospheric Pressure

We all have our highs and lows
That make us happy or sad
We are like the weather I suppose
Which is sometimes good and sometimes bad
The lows bring rains to make the flowers grow
The highs bring sunshine and summer's glow

Our anger can whip up like a hurricane
with the fury of its wind
Your own blood pressure may rise again
  Much to your own chagrin

So it pays to keep a sunny smile
And let the weather have its highs and lows
And you'll find that after a while
 Your happiness will flow

The Reason

You are the reason
I wake up at dawn
With a smile on my face
Like all my sorrow's gone.

You are the reason
I prepare for the coming day
My cheeks full with anticipation
No matter what may come my way

You are the reason
I get back up each time I fall
'Cause the sun, peeking from within your smile
Gives me a million reasons to stand tall

So I wake up, every single morning
Singing thanks from out of unspoken words
Calming the lingering desire to see your face
And that sunny smile, like none in the world.

'Cause you give me strength
By your mere existence
By merely being you, perfectly you
Blessed with beauty, in perfect consistence.

You are the reason
I pray each night the sun to make haste
And bring dawn to my door again
So once more, I may see your face...

A Perfect Gentleman Friend At Forty

Never did I meet a man so warm
Full of live and a sunny smile
Sweet like the Scottish cream
The perfect gentleman

Never did I meet a man so warm
With simple gestures and classy acts
Humble yet suave and full of charm
The perfect gentleman

Never did I meet a man so warm
Who at forty has a heart younger than twenty
Elegant, soft yet firm
A perfect gentleman

Never did I meet a man so warm
Who has a kind word for every soul
And a heart so large, so warm
I could go on…

…But as you turn forty my friend
Remember life is just beginning
Laugh to your heart delights
Drink the freshest of wines
Spend time with your kids and wife
Be merry, passionate and never stop loving…

A prayer for you…
May you last long like the Iroko Tree
Bringing warmth, love and happiness to-
Your Family and friends
Happy Fortieth Birthday Babafemi
My perfect gentleman friend and brother!

(This poem is dedicated to my colleague, friend and brother- Babafemi Aina on the Occassion of his 40th Birthday. I wish you many more years of success friend)

Premium Member Split Personality

Most times she wakes with radiant, full smile
and eyes of blue that sparkle neath the sun.
To be around her lifts our spirits while
her upbeat nature spreads to everyone.

For days, this personality can last,
and spending time with her brings happy cheers.
But then one morning she can turn so fast
and wakes up sad and dark with flowing tears.

Those days create glum weariness with fears
her sunny smile, now gone, brings us malaise.
We now must deal with bouts of falling tears
and modify our life through stormy days.

Her name is 'Weather' and she's such a tease-
   with come-and-go split personalities.

Dawn comes again with sunny smile,
Seek cheery strains where music styles.

A gift of time to take a trip,
Work beat and rhyme as passion grips.

Bright moments here speak sublime truth,
Intent streams cheer in wonder's proof.

Words that I cite spur fond refrain,
Seize then fine writes to anchor plain.

The gist of thoughts move feeling bright,
See simple plots that sculpts fine sights.

Feel the normal ebb and flow here,
Heed the aural sounds that come near.

Montage sparks clear the happy moods,
Purge then the fear and live fond good.
