Detecting deception,
our eye nonjudgmental
and blissful heart tranquil
but saw a weary soul,
slowly trudging uphill.

Detecting deception,
in a drop that rebelled,
we but saw its soul’s light,
seeking greener pastures,
to feel bliss beat’s delight.

Detecting deception,
by egos gone astray,
driven by dark instinct,
all we could see was their
yearning to be love inked.

Detecting deception,
by poets seeking praise,
all we saw was their dread,
resisting love and light,
head not by conscience led.

AI GUY

Though I write from my app, not my impassioned soul
I'm praised and lauded as I play a poet's role
Don't tell me I lie
I'm just an AI Guy
Subterfuge is my game and a trophy my goal!

An idiosyncratic apothecary,
neo pop corollas line its grove;
The price and results may vary;

Heinous hues hang extraordinary,
the bourgeoise see a treasure trove;
An idiosyncratic apothecary;

Chartreuse poppin’ pills be wary,
a champion’s golden boxing glove;
The price and results may vary;

Bating mediocre alive to bury
immobile in the web they wove;
An idiosyncratic apothecary;

Citrine and amethystine they carry
promise calm, balance, and love;
The price and results may vary;

Naïveté of the Sucker is scary,
 silk subterfuge we do not speak of;
An idiosyncratic apothecary,
the price and results may vary.

as taught in the acting school
but his aura yet displays,
camouflaged intent.

Bashing bushes never worked!
As answers become vague touchés.
Matching hazy questions, akin.
Step up nosily, face-to-face.

A Trumpetfish's sneaky subterfuge

Scared prey's wary lookout,
is foiled by trumpetfish,
hitchhiking a sneaky ride.
onboard a friendly parrotfish.

Not Every Hugh Is Huge

Not every hugh is huge

Five special minutes with Horace Hugh
And what I picked from the short stay huge:
Not all the blokes who bear Hugh are huge,
Sometimes the name like a subterfuge.

Under Hugh the little takes refuge
And neatly starts to act like a stooge:
Political rivals link with some drug:
The making of an Election Thug!

One can guess Horace Hugh is not huge
But could you believe his house is huge
While he sleeps elsewhere deemed a refuge,
The police dogs there a subterfuge?

Just imagine it: a house of rug
And used cups in it a kings jug.

Premium MemberNeedless Subterfuge

social etiquette
game of pretence
the words we state
decried by innocence

emotions concealed
betrayed by tremor
our fears revealed
as desires mirror

ego subterfuge
our identity crisis
taking in love refuge
births boundless bliss

causation of suffering
anticipating outcome
in stupor stagnating
denying us freedom

thought cessation
negating lower mind
flowing joy orientation
frees us from ego bind

earth life playful parlance
in a sea of tranquil calm
when nestled in silence
love the healing balm

Premium MemberNessie Camouflaged By Subterfuge Con

Nessie slept soundly cuddling
the tin-plate toy submarine
fitted with plastic wood head
on long sinuous neck attached to
the conning tower, that drifted down
to Nessie's hideout deep in the cave
at the bottom of Loch Ness.

Nessie knew the pressure was off.
The fake photographs had quelled
the endless searches and prying.
"We'll give them their monster"
the model maker declared.
He gave them an image - a fake.
People believed the photograph was real for such a long time,
that no one would ever
see or know what Nessie really looked like.
People would always look for a snake like head on a long neck
with one hump or two from the tail.

People wanted a monster,
wanted a photograph to confirm it.
Now Nessie had the model,
he could poke it up through the surface
on dark stormy nights when lightning
added to the mystery and intrigue.
The stranger-than-fiction inner truth, hidden by what people wanted to believe.
A Trojan horse enshrouding truth, within a fake cloak of myth revealed.

Perfect Subterfuge

Perfect lies turn into truth in subterfuge
The spy is under the radar of what you do
I love you for who you are
What you have done is inconsequential
Come with me anyway
Drive into darkness on the chase away
Under the caustic moon
Forget the day as it has limits
When the story is through
Ends on shadow tides beginning
That finds a wall in front of us
In a crash defined as fatal
Fades with the car, in the ecliptic, measured dark
Encrypted messaging that found what
Broken glass half empty in the fog
We escape to find
The enemy is us
Not soon forgotten

Premium MemberPretense and Subterfuge

Truth - Justice - Trust
Three players around a bridge table
move their pieces on the game board,
all the Squares are Red
from blood spilled by making the wrong move,
for believing the lies of a worthy opponent called Truth
eyes that lie - lies of a spy - all rolling the same die -
power struggle to control the outcome of the game
first over the wall and across the bridge wins.

Roll the dice if you dare take the chance of making the wrong move.
What is the risk if the rules of the game keep changing?
Justice cheats but Justice is blind; not to the strategy of opponents.
Truth lies and Trust can't be trusted to tell the truth.
Pretense and subterfuge

Three players around the bridge table. Who holds the winning piece?
Will Trust be the loser if he's caught in the middle?
If he believes Truth and Justice he should be called Gullible.
Blowing up the bridge table would put an end to Trust
an end to the game - of the world? Liberty does have a price.
