Stumble And Rise

There was a girl in a night club,
Who tripped in that crowded pub.
She bruised her left arm,
But laughed off the harm,
And danced while a dog ate her grub.

Limerick  Syllables : 9,9,7,7,9.

Now there once was a Scotsman named Milt,
And he tripped on a stair with a tilt.
Bounced on each step single file.
He jumped up wearing a smile.
Now we all know what is under his kilt.

Gravity

Mindlessly walking with shoes untied,
but gravity could not be defied -
he tried to grab hold,
to person or pole –
crashing down hard onto his backside!

There was an old maid

There was an old maid in the square
Who tripped over her very long hair
She grabbed a street lamp
Performed a pole dance
And everyone gave her a cheer.

An old man was approaching the square
And he tripped while descending the stair
He did some cartwheels
Then tapped on his heels
Said Ginger, here’s your Fred Astaire.

STUMBLE AND RISE (Gravity and I)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A gala event, a minefield of hope and dread,
Winners announced, toward the stage were formally led.
     My name was called; I tripped, planting my face on the floor,
     Embarrassed was I, my ego damaged, my pride done for.
“Gravity and I are in a toxic relationship,” I said, my face turning red.
The Stumble and Rise
I stumbled straight down by surprise,
To laughter and widening eyes-
But I jumped to my feet,
Made the misstep a beat
and waltzed as the crowd cheered my rise.
A girl with a giggle so grand,
Tripped on her own feet and landed.
She fell with a spin,
Then let the dance begin.
And twirled with the crown close at hand.
Road bends, turns, and twists,
We stumble, then stand up tall,
New horizons wait.
That's The Way The Cookie Crumbles
Why do we do the things we do
of all the everything under the sun
why do all those crazy things can’t ever be undone
it's beyond belief if it's not one thing it's another
between you and me don't know why I bother
sometimes we slip stumble and fall
trip tumble and fumble the ball
that's the way the cookie crumbles
why do we say the things we say
when there's everything else instead
why use such stupid words can’t ever be unsaid
until you go out on a limb you’ll never know the view
it's nice from far but far from nice
true from far yet oh so far from true
when thunder rumbles here comes the rain
no umbrella soaking wet again
that's the way the cookie crumbles
why do we choose the things we do
with all the everything else to choose
why decide on pointless wrongs can't ever hope to use
it's beyond belief if it's not one thing then it's another
and sometimes it's both why do I even bother
be it ever-so humble as if that's not all
give it the gas and the car will stall
hey that's the way the cookie crumbles
Stumble
Lord knows that I'm trying,
everyone's selling and I'm still buying,
it's like my feet won't lift to prevent my stumbles,
every move forward my stature crumbles,
lean not on my own understanding,
do this and life won't be so demanding,
*For I am all too human, the trouble is with me,
subtract that factor will give the solution to be,
a Word is written to answer my question,
a Word to begin a birth and end in a resurrection,
surrender to Him to never stumble,
a joyous life which can never crumble.
*Romans 7:14
Jolted
This is the saddest day of my life,
But the day dosen't know that, the sky is so blue and the sunshine so bright.
No one looks and nobody cares as I stumble my way through the hours,
Everything just continuously drags,
I don't eat I don't drink I am just here.
I fear the coming night and the dreams it will hold,
But it's so far away as the time drags slowly on and on.
Eventually the light begins to fade, I know the time is near to the dark horrors that await,
I realise all of this as I am jolted by the twilight.
It's Okay
It's okay
It's okay Not to be Okay
It's okay to feel frozen in the midst,
To feel trapped in the storm,
It's okay to feel struck by a thunder
To feel broken and unrepairable.
It's okay
It's okay to feel misérable,
To stumble, to fall.
It's okay to feel the weight,
To force a smile in the low.
It's okay NOT to be the strongest one in the room,
To let a tear drop when you can't handle the pain.
It's okay to allow yourself to feel,
Every emotion and every feeling
That comes with humanity.
It's okay to make a few mistakes
And to learn from them.
It's okay to take a break when you feel overwhelmed
By everything and everyone around you
And blend with energy of your own.
It is okay
It is Okay NOT to havê
Everything all figured out,
Afterall we'll try again tomorrow.
Magic
I could use a little magic tonight
some sorcerer to sympathize
and with his kind arcane words
conjure a spark so I may finally
find my way to some lovely land
lucent with Panglossian light
after doleful decades stumbling
solitary and blind in the bitterly
brumal dark fearing with each
step I will fall and fail to rise
Premium Member Among the shadows of people, I stumble incessantly
Among the shadows of people, I stumble incessantly,
Invisible among their walls of noises and living shades.
My thoughts are colorful butterflies that find no understanding,
Words - echoes crashing against the altar of the misunderstood.
Yet there exists a constellation of wanderers, kin to my solitude,
Who have begun to rummage through my soul without ever touching.
Unseen companions have sprung from elongated syllables,
They bathed my blinded eyes and were pillars amidst waves.
You, whom I have never looked into the eyes, become my guides in this realm.
I cherish you like the ships carrying me over seas of oblivion.
The wind thought to break me, to silence my song,
But in the cosmos of words, this is the unwritten law - the poet does not yield.
Sorrow intertwines with my breath, the elements seem to resist me.
I read and reread, with all my stigmata and all my unhealed yearnings.
It is your blood, faceless friends,
Formless angels holding me in arms when all tears overflow.
Poems Mumble and Stumble Horn Haiku
when my poems mumble
find words around will fumble
stupid and on would stumble
are things cat enjoys
likes playing with kitty toys
and girls with boys
while idiots will bloom
for us God made room in tomb
so sins He can consume
when with love liter
God became my baby sitter
sinner am quitter
when we found some mace
cat would make a funny face
running set the pace
when my eyes were teary
outside it had been dreary
of we would be leery
when we came to terms
you could see so many worms
consuming all the germs
when being prevalent
they would be ambivalent
all the rules have bent
when we entertain
rather than being insane
we will need a brain
when we saw menu
reading we must continue
seeing sharp sinew
