garden gnome Jim loved the marigolds especially
And the sunflowers of course, and petunias, luckily
He tended the garden, every day, admiring each berry
Occasionally sneaking a radish, rose, or a strawberry.

Sassy and Genghis they now get along
Sassy liked Kublai but he is now gone
Old Genghis still a little grouch
he growls at Sassy if she joins him on the couch
Sassy will at times kiss him and sniff his little face
when he is behind her sneaking a sniff takes place
Under the desk Genghis loves to hide and stay
when she crawls to greet him he growls her away
If on the bed Genghis cautious for Sassy rolls
he will yap at her and even hide behind pillows
Treat time Sassy gobbles hers right away
Genghis takes his time teasing her all day
Sassy lies down in front of him whimpering and whines
Genghis growls and wags his tail taking his sweet time
Though Genghis is little and Sassy twice as big
she never angers toward him is playful instead
She will steal his treat right under his nose
when playing keep away stay on your toes
They love barking together at anything in sight
they are more amusing than causing a fright.
Sometimes Sassy will sleep beside him
and Genghis is okay.
Without our sweet Sassy
Genghis would be lonely every day.

Jealous Jillian meets zealous Philip at Arby’s.
With ONE green eye she spies his double-order curly fries,
No FUN when his French dip starts to drip on her Barbies.
She cleans them off and leans close in to his plate
SNEAKING a meager handful while eager Phil tries
to confess for the FREAKING mess he’s made of their date.
She orders Smokehouse Brisket; he GETS a gravy/biscuit.
PLUS as a “to go” surprise, IT’S two apple pies.
THUS Phil walks Jill home. A goodnight kiss? will he risk it?

We sang a rendition of
the Lovers fight song
where two lovers
asked the world what
they were doing wrong
her cursings tongue spoke
until all her frustration
was gone
She soothed me
She calmed me till
I couldn't ignore
her want for me
her need for me
to hard to miss
something
one couldn't ignore
Make time for Love
that's what Lovers do
When it's really love
it comes natural too
Get all handsomed up
She'll get dolled up too
Night on the town
Baby that's what
Lovers do
She has ah man home
he don't wanna let her go
My woman just tag's along
if she really Loves me
is someting I don't know
Depending on
her point of view
when she turns me off
I go to spend time with you
Pointless to resend
ah man you can't reach
only ah foolish man
takes sand to the beach
tryna prevent him
from sneaking a hround
you'll make ah fool of yourself
in front of the damn whole town

I crawled and stayed low as I could,
Wanted to be punished for being anything but good. No boundaries in place before I took a walk around the world complete in a block,
Never knew that being human meant being entitled to make mistakes and being a Christian meant worthy of asking forgiveness and sneaking a peak at the people you pass when you are walking isn't too much pride. I deserved everything I got that made me feel like , being a pathetic introvert just gave me the excuse to allow for my eccentricities. Flawed in more ways then one yet unable to pin point the most debilitating one, I chose being trapped in the body of some fat, frumpy whiter then white ill proportioned gal with an akward pigeon toed walk, unsure stare and a damaged heart left to stew in misery. I truly love harder then anyone I've seen...but I never say a w ok rd about it...just hope that someone feels it.

Chicago skyscrapers are peeking into their lake mirror
Autumn leaves floating around the land so clear
Concrete bridge where people are low voice talking
Squirrels running out in front of joggers who are walking
Leaves of every color on the ground – showing red and gold.
People in the park are finding things to do, both young and old.
Mirrored building is sneaking a peek at herself in nature’s mirror
When we are here, none of us feel much fear.
This is a safe place if you grew up in the windy city.
We are loving it as much as we can; our knowledge is pretty
We have culture and the Bears and fancy pizza too.
Best of all, when you are here, you are close to the zoo.

Oftentimes,
And it happens so often lately,
I catch myself staring
at the walls and the ceiling
lost somewhere in reverie,
furtively sneaking a peek at the door.
Death–
Where does it come from?
Does it need a door to come through?
Does it knock?
Or, it just appears from nowhere
like an apparition,
Does the sight of death
takes one’s breath away?
Or death comes when you’re
no longer able to breathe?
How long must I keep
my eyes glued to the door?
Has death ever tried and
failed to find the door?
O Lord, don’t let death turn away
It might only create sorrow,
It will be alright
if I don’t see tomorrow.
Whenever this mortal journey ends
and death comes smiling to the fatal door,
Let my soul contain fortitude
enough that it can so endure.

As I drew closer to the bedroom door,
through keyhole I peeked as I knelt on the floor.
And there she lay on a bed soft as clouds,
with barely a shadow to act as a shroud.
Quietly I crept while she peacefully slept,
a picture of beauty, I took and I kept.
I was sure not to wake her, I would not dare,
from her wonderful dreams, never to tear.
I wondered what dream she would choose to keep,
a token taken from a sleep so deep.
To interrupt my heart would not allow,
just nearing and peering like circling fowl.
Suddenly I touched her, I could not resist,
she awoke startled, clawed me and hissed.
Then Fluffy the cat scurried under the bed
and I had to snuggle with a pillow instead.

I can see you Bobby sneaking a look
No, your mother did not buy you a book
Tony and Jimmie have come to see
Bobby gazing at me
My lights are bright so Santa can see
Where to put the presents under me
It is Christmas Eve and I can hear the Boys
Laughing and giggling about their toys
I can hear a thunder upon the roof
It’s Rudolph and his reindeer hoofs
A laughter so loud from Santa himself
It would gather a crowd all by itself
All of a sudden the fireplace went out
And all I saw were Santa’s feet sticking out
He whispered so low and I could barely hear
There are my cookies and carrots for my reindeer
He took a bite the next thing I knew
He was gone like a bullet into the night
For his next delivery that night
The boys woke up screaming with glee,
What did Santa bring me?
Their faces were filled joy
As they opened their Christmas toys
I sat there laughing but next thing I knew
A Christmas carol came out of the blue
I Wish you a marry Christmas
And have a wonderful New Year!

Wear no long face
When storms rage in your space
Flying and crying you out of place
If you do
Like a cow you’ll moo
Shooting and hooting at the crew
You claim to train
With foibles you can’t restrain
With lower standards you strain
In muscles, corpuscles and bustles
Indulging in hustles
Egging you to tussles
You hardly believe worthwhile
Embracing a foppish lifestyle
As you claim to care for the poor for a while
Sneaking a surprise or a dose of gloom
When for the sake of the lake of doom
You elevate and fete misfortune in the room
That denies you peace of mind
When pride drives you blind
To become and grow unkind
Until an invisible hand
Teaches you to take an accommodating stand
In circumstances denying your pride the grandstand
That sinks the last nail
To administer a master class manicure the fingernail
Shining and gliding far better than the snail
You’d rather blessed and caressed humility
Stretching and fetching from your life adaptability
As you strive to promote amiability and its agility.

Winnie the witch was seeking romance
So headed off to the Halloween dance
She went with her old school friend Mary
Who is cute and pretty but incredibly hairy!
Pumpkin lanterns light up the darkened room
Casting eerie shadows in the gloom
Winnie had her eye on a wizard called Arty -
She’d met him at a ghost and ghouls party
Arty asked Winnie to take to the floor
Scary costumes caused such a furore
Zombies and ghosts were sneaking a kiss
Arty kissed Winnie … his lips didn’t miss!!!
The music changed and they started to bop
Arty kicked Winnie’s leg - she began to hop
She burst into tears in the middle of the room
Arty helped her to the seat with the aid of her broom
Winnie’s ankle was broken – it was clear to see
They had to fly on his broomstick to casualty!

I started this poem with the ending
That way I figure just in case
I get half way through and don't have a clue
Of what next I wanted to say
Plus it'll save me all that time
Of trying to come up with the perfect end for the ending
Since this idea came around and I've written it down
At the start of the very beginning
Though it does take away all the mystery
Of what this poem is about
Like sneaking a look at the last page of a book
No more need to try and figure it out
I could throw a surprise twist in the middle
Just to try and liven things up
But you already know what's coming so
I'm not sure a twist would be enough
I now find myself deep in dilemma
Since I started the beginning with the end
I clear my throat with a cough as I finish it off
With where it was I should have began

He's lost the best of me
and what's left still wants him.
I find parts of me everywhere,
finding them gleaming in dusty corners
and I gather the fragments
in my hand, a fine sand of feelings,
and hoard them under the bed, staring
at them when he's not there.
Like a child sneaking a peek at the shadows
from beneath the blanket, I treasure them.
He's turned me into a puzzle that I'm scared to complete;
I'm his toy and he's my restless toy maker.
Now he's gone so far, what's left to do but wait?
But I won't. I force myself down my throat
to see if I still fit. I won't.
If you treat yourself like food, you become it.
I gnawed off a finger yesterday and swallowed it.
He can't have that, an edible delicary for myself.
The cause has eaten the effect, I'm useless now anyway.
He's left me in parts and bones that aren't mine,
and I don't recognise the pieces left anymore.
I'm an illusion to myself- am I real anymore?
He's lost the best of me and I'm forced to feed on the rest.

What does it mean to you
When I think of Christmas
I think of family
Moments spent round the Christmas tree
Stockings filled with presents
Carols heard throughout the household
I think of anxious children
Creeping along the hallway
Sneaking a peep of Santa
Coming down the chimney hole
I imagine colours bright and radiant like a pot of gold
I see the joy of Christmas in every store I go
I stop for a moment only to observe
Houses lit with lights red, yellow green and gold
Laughter heard from home to home
Love shared far and wide through out the world
Christmas the magic word.
