Disgruntled ragged geraniums
in my window

for shutting out the

The Flowers Are Winning
Gathering sweet lily of the valley
Red geraniums calling me by name.
Chrysanthemums signing in on the game.
Tulips winning if I were to tally....

Gardens Above Ground
Balconies
are decorated
with daisies.
The perfumed
geraniums
hang like plants.
Beautiful
are the gardens
above ground.
They are seen
in New Orleans,
not elsewhere.

Crop Circles
Crop circles were surely created by aliens
No question about it, beings with large craniums
Funny looking dudes
Big heads, bad moods
They also love carnations and geraniums...

Thought About Fleeting Things
How precious the November sun
that gilds the leaves with its low beam
and lights the last geraniums.
A few remaining roses gleam
and shimmer on their stems.
So for a while summer seems
to linger in the suburbs....

Like To Share a Rootbeer Float
Would you like to share a root beer float the kitty said.
She liked her own better, but kept quiet, being well-bred.
They sat at the outside café, the geraniums were red.
That is where she fell in love with her new boyfriend, Ned....

Echoes...
A night heron rises unto the dark sky
Wild geraniums overwhelm my senses
Rush fire into and through my veins...
Heart beats are set aflutter
By the toe beats of your clogs
As your clogs echo over
The pavements in dark recesses of my memories...

Red Geraniums
Red Geraniums
In the flower beds
This my choice~red
Wave petunias run
Down the sides~purple
The old sage said
When I grow old
I'll wear purple
With a red hat
I know it
Doesn't match
But again
Could be
Some fun
Laugh!! ...

A Shower of Flowers
Tulips fronting daffodils
Azaleas in pots on windowsills
Rows of rainbow chrysanthemums
Mingle with orange geraniums
Bright pink peonies ready to pop
A bird of paradise sits on top
Still ~ Red roses always make my day
Arrange them in a sweet bouquet...

The Nascent Storm
Jade scythes
of areca fronds
slice slate air;
Medusa's snakes writhe.
Pewter arrows pierce
my garden.
I sit beneath an eave
pondering
the nascent storm.
Geraniums cloister
like vestal butterflies
in darkening loam
as a multitude
of emerald tufts
bend on the fleeing lawn.

Pot Plants On White Tiles
Pot plants on white tiles
arranged in zigzags.
If I skimmed my eyes,
they made me dizzy.
In them, geraniums
from mum's shop,
and Daz arranged them
fancy style.
I loved those little pots,
and in the morning,
when Daz had taken out the flowers,
the pots still made me stare.

As If To Say,' Summer'
My geraniums are in bloom
mature, crimson, blushing beauties
as if to say, “summer smiles on.”
Maple leaves litter street gutters
falling with occasional wind
gusts with cool foreboding fortune
as if to say, “summer moves on.”
