It happens to everyone/
All we want is a few/
To be called a true friend/
To show us that there's others out there/
Just like us, so we open ourselves/
To the job of finding true worthy people/
To surround ourselves with/
Only to be filled with lies and deceit/
Generation after generation/
Just keeps getting shadier/
To be blind and not see things/
So clearly, and fall for the same words/
Over and over again/
Just coming out of their mouths/
We try to be positive, shine like a star/
To attract everyone, to search and separate/
To find a few we are looking for/
Which turns into a life of struggles/
Either way we look/
We see doubt and second guessing/
Things we thought we fully understood/
To come and see the real light/
People come and go/
Some seem to use the friend word/
Easy enough, only to be proven wrong/
In the long and short run/
To be left alone/
Seeming like an.../
Outcast... Friendless/

              ~Pennsylvania Panic~

He was shot, and could have been dead.
I saw the red blood running down his head.
I only could think of his tall and handsome son of eighteen.
Whose emotions were anything but joyous nor mystically serene.

I was alive when both Kennedys were kiiled.
I saw the floor upon which RFK’s crimson
   blood had spilled.
Yes and I thought of the late Martin Luther
King, was killed but his dream, a American star that thrilled!

This is a great country and we refuse to be undone.
True Americans know it is so and was not formed for a short run.
This Judaeo- Christian Republic’s dome shines high in DC on a hill!
   To forever serve…America’s law-abiding ones!

“If you keep only healthy food in your cupboard and fridge, you will eat good food.” – Errick McAdams

“You need a steroid to fix your ills.
Now vaccination to ward off winter chills.
Take an antidepressant, to calm your woes.
Let’s try antibiotics and see how it goes.

A short run of oxycodone to ease any pain.
Eating salt and acidy food you must refrain.
We will give you antacids just in case,
And a full range of vitamins, food to replace.

Eat nothing with Gluten or carbohydrate.
We’ll give you a pill to lower your heart rate.
A bevy of sprays to help you breathe.
A mood stabilizer if you begin to seethe.

There’s nothing else before you run out of money.
Make sure you call if you begin to feel funny.
Your health will soon be at its highest peak.
Make an appointment to see me in a week.”

"How uplifting it feels to be given such care.
Knowing my specialist has it all right there.
And silly me was considering healthy living.
Fresh air, good food and exercise, such a misgiving !!"

Imagination

There is a gate in the midst of
A small garden, maybe a red or
White.

I went over and met a dwarf who
Claimed its possession of the gate,

This is my gate and area, what are
You human in this sacred forest?

What mushroom! What leaf!
What another bird!

Birds fly to the west and I am following,
Jogging turns into a short run and my feet
Find themselves on some white thing.

Fluffy and wet, in truth! This is actually
A cloud.

Crystals climb on to me, from their silky nests

And then I turn to walk north

Aw, she thought she was the perfect cat's meow!
Meaningless Poetry made her tingle.
You could even hear her bold crown jingle.
Nobocdy was as good as she, anyhow!

Here she comes now, such pietic expertise!
Kiss her skirt with divine reverence,
Although she makes absolutelly no sense.
Afterward, down on your knees.

I made her up just for fun.
Before getting dinner ready and a short run"
Shakespeare sauce on organic spaghetti.
Shades of the famed poet, Lawrence Ferlinghetti!

Premium Member The Heart of God

Sometimes it seems like God doesn’t care,
We pray and pray and nothing happens,
The pain and sorrow get worse and worse and we wonder?
Does God have any concern at all for me?
But see, God’s timing is a wondrous and complex thing,
And if we could see her heart,
We would see the Holy Spirit moving heaven and earth to prepare a joyful rest that we can’t forget,
A joyful rest that sits in our consciousness and reverberates joy through our being in an endless, eternal reckoning,
You see it is the will of the Holy Spirit as she works through Hindus, Jews, Muslims, New Agers, Christians, atheists, and agnostics to not lose one soul to despair.
An in the short run this sometimes seems like a quixotic daydream with no merit,
But in the long run the Holy Ghost always gets her way. The Queen of Heaven will not be denied,
Your soul will know peace whether it be in this lifetime or the next,
It will happen,
For Jesus’ love is truly invincible,
And even Satan will one day succumb to it,
God’s heart is to reach you and convince you of how much he loves by all means necessary.
And trust me, what God wants, God eventually gets, and that’s a fact.

Four Seasons: Part Four

The days and nights are long, hard and heavy
A blank look at my burdensome third leg
Laying at a mocking distance from me
Suppresses me down upon my spring bed
“What a nice but short run I had“, I thought
All my pointless pursuit of happyness
The quests, battles, wars I have seen and fought
Amounts to these quiet days of sadness
Once was the Sun of the East, now no more
The sun from the east now teases my sight
Which will it be? the quiet or the gore?
How futile it is to put up a fight
I will miss this world, I will miss it all
When at last my heart fights no more the call

When moving to a new location
Love to survey the land
Finding the nearest gas emporiums
A Starbucks close at hand

McDonald's which I frequent often
Food stores with all the best deals
Office supplies, lumber yards
Great restaurants for yummy meals

Soon we'll know where everything is
But exploring is half the fun
Discovering stores once far away
Now are just a very short run

It helps to eliminate those illegal u-turns
Which are really hard on the wallet
Soon we'll know where everything is
Reducing our petrol wallop

Moved quite a number of times in life
Find it exciting and fun
You'd think at the age of seventy-eight
My wander lust would all be done

Thwarted

They say that it’s smart, and ultimately wise,
for many passwords a person to devise,
to protect access and block meddling hands,
stopping those e-thieves and other brigands.

So I make up code words, a vast array,
I must use one hundred during the day,
mostly at work and definitely home,
and with the laptop wherever I roam.

I use variations from all seven children,
brothers and sisters, nicknames and given,
combinations of numerals important to me,
one that included a grand forty-three.

In the game rooms I’m studlymanone,
Though used awesomelovr for a short run.
Employed every pet name I’ve ever had,
Buttons, and Curly, and Slobberdogbad.

Some are so secret, I can’t tell you here,
and I change them, three times a year.
So now I’m safe and online protected,
any intrusion quickly detected.

But now I’m stalled like a morning commuter,
cause I forgot the code to unlock my computer!

Cold Spring Street

Cold Spring Street

When I was young
I could walk far on sidewalks
For it was a different time then.
Corner to corner
Across the busy avenue
Up Prospect Hill and down the long street.
But when I was late to return
The walk seemed longer
The street was longer and
Shadows were pasted on the houses I passed.
The Hill became a mountain that
Made me skip down, maybe run
And the Avenue was lined with endless cars
Blaring headlights
Going fast
The sidewalks now had big trees
With darkness around the sides
That caused my eyes to jump
As I walked faster with beating heart
Sweating
With a short run
I reached my corner,
Now my door.

Shifts

Earth’s here quaking,
while I’ve been thinking
of shifts.
Like the shift in love,
the shift in economy:
the dollar-fat trolls
who play tricks.
The many wounded and
the sick.
I see a haze of gray
smoke, it seems
I’ve been hiding in
my dreams,
waiting for the moment
to pretend my
words will mean a damn.
It’s melting away,
they’re going
extinct,
forever isn’t eternity.
We need the land,
the oil, the soil, the spoil,
the life, the ecosystem
means nothing in the
short run...
Grab your gun,
your knife,
you pride,
your flag,
wave them to one another: you’re American.

And when the ocean comes
ashore forevermore,
let the beauty somehow survive
the fittest.
