Shoot Down Poems | Examples

April 13 Signal First Contact

In the movie, the” signal”
An Astronaut receives

A signal from an alien spaceship
Heading to earth

The alien repeats the word
Hello in multiple languages
While heading to Earth.

The discovery electrifies
And terrifies the world.

All the world’s governments
Decide In secret.

To shoot down the spaceship
Before it could land
As it could be either a probe
Of the beginning of an invasion.

When they enter the ship
They find the original
Voyager data discs.

Which the aliens
Were returning to earth
As an opening gambit
To establish communication.

Premium Member the immigration bill 3-2-1 shoot down

Gun funds fought latin commies
And launched immigrant tsunamis
Trump's wall at the border
Now reads out of order
And can't stop the kids and their mommies

Don't forget gang deportation
That affected some latin nation
What we sent down there
Gave many a scare
Being bullied is no vacation

Republicans caught in a lie
We do know why they won't vote aye
They'd the polls ruffle
With border kerfuffle
Designed to make Biden the bad guy

Premium Member It's Carl Denham's Fault

Carl Denham, you have done a dirty deed.
You brought that big gorilla to New York out of greed.
That "eighth wonder of the world" would make you money.
However, what he did certainly was not funny.
Kong broke loose from his chains during the show.
He fled the theater, and off he would go.
With him, he carried pretty Ann Darrow.
Kong quickly headed for the Empire State Building.
Along the way, that huge ape did his thing.
He wrecked a train, and plenty of people he was killing.
As he climbed that building, he caused trouble to say the least.
It took a lot of airplanes to shoot down that beast.
There was a lot of relief after that gorilla was dead.
Denham, get this into your incredibly dense head:
Having that ape in this city was not considered fun.
Don't you dare go back to Africa to get another one!

I Was Burned By My Burrito

I was burned by my burrito
Just a simple snack for me yo
I was burned by my burrito, my burrito

My hunger pangs were panging
My tummy it was aching
I figured a quick snack
Would end my crave attack

I was burned by my burrito
Just a simple snack for me yo
I was burned by my burrito, my burrito

I found the coolest snack with meat
A simple twisted treat
A 60 second nuke away
From a happy snacking craze

I was burned by my burrito
Just a simple snack for me yo
I was burned by my burrito, my burrito

As soon as the ding went off
I grabbed it up so fast
I didn’t let it cool a minute to keep my hand from harm
To make it worse I also felt the red hot sauce and pain shoot down my arm

I was burned by my burrito
Just a simple snack for me yo
No it wasn’t a mosquito
I was burned by my burrito, my burrito

Oh that hurts *
Ow ow girl, what’s wrong with you girl *
(Shake your head)
And all I wanted was a simple tasty treat*

*these lines are spoken and not sung

COWARDS, NOT HEROESv

Cowards, not heroes, Call them what they are
Not Martyrs, killers of babies, children, people both near and far
Cowards not heroes, not terrorists, Call them what they are

How much courage does it take to mow down children and people in trucks
How much courage does it take to be armed with all kinds of ammunition
like a sniper and shoot down cops like sitting ducks

How much courage does it take to shoot unsuspecting people in a store, a show a school
To kill and brutalize black, brown, white folks going about their day
To fly into buildings, blow up people having fun running in races is beyond cruel

Oh you say, it is for what I believe in, I have courage to risk my own life
Or they deserve it, poor me, I have been hurt, I am angry
They will pay with a gun, bomb, or knife

Cowards not heroes, that is what terrorists are
Even an old woman could drive a truck through a crowd of people, shoot cops
Plant bombs, shoot into crowds and kill people near and far

COWARDS, killers ,not terrorists, not heroes, not Martyrs
COWARDS willing to kill babies, children, mothers and fathers
COWARDS let us call them what they are
COWARDS

The Maze

Walking through the room, everything seems strange.
Mysterious thoughts, scratching my head like a dog with mange.
Try to shoot down uneasy thoughts like targets in a gun range.
Imagine the future of music, Calvo doing lyrical rap on the grandest stage.
But these political cretens shoot down my dreams with a loaded 12 gauge.
Hoping this darkness is only just a rough phase.
I stand in the room and pause, I give a stern gaze.
Trying to leave this depression is like a half-dead rat trying to leave a maze.

Chills Once Again

And yet again I have you,
Storming through my head,
Your always on my mind,
Even when I'm laying in bed,
I see that unbelievable picture,
The one where its just you,
I pray and hope that this time,
The love I feel is so true,
Yes I said the big L word,
I never thought I'd feel it again,
But now that I have you here,
I hate when my day has to end,
I enjoy being near your beauty,
Holding you as chills shoot down my back,
Guess your butterflies found my heart,
Keeping it safe and not letting it crack,
You mean the world to me,
And I know this isn't just a hunch,
Its God finally allowing me to tell you,
I Love You So Damn Much!!!

Ruminating
The wheels of my mind
Turning and churning
Trying as hard as I can
To come up with that topic
You might possibly be interested in

You don’t seem to care about
Anything that interests me
You like to shoot down ideas
Find something to judge and laugh at

You’re half deaf or half listening
And love to laugh hysterically
At what you thought you heard
Because that’s so much more interesting
Than anything I might have said

Finally bored and tired of it all
Till it finally dawns on me
That one topic that will be of interest
Of course, we can talk about you

Voices

angry voices saying words that could doom the people,
playing with the hint of an apocalypse like name calling at school.

I will shoot down your planes if you say that about me again.
You know you can’t do anything without the annihilation of everyone.

a cacophony of phrases causing a growing hysteria
like a virus spreading throughout the world

thunderous bellows, nasty tweets, slanderous remarks, hollow threats
a kaleidoscope of insults bringing the end closer

how can only two mortal men have that much power, or do they?
where is the voice of the generation from the mushroom clouds?

stopping fast at the brink of disaster by words
from the mouths of such that must be controlled

the desire to push the panic button has spiraled skyward
bringing us nearer to the neck of the nuke than ever before

using devices, anywhere, would be too chaotic to imagine
Hiroshima 12 kilotons, today, megatons

pray for the leaders
angry voices need to be silenced so that peace is perpetual

Mister President It's Rumored
By Franklin Price
3/8/2017

Mister President it's rumored
That you always say what's what
At times sounds like the words you speak
Are coming from your butt

You must be believable
With all the words we hear
Always speak them from the mouth
And never from the rear

We know you're not political
It's not why you're President
To make this country great again
Is the reason you were sent

If you sound ridiculous
When you tweet or when you speak
We will not be behind you
In anything you seek

The establishment, guns blazing,
Shoot down everything you say
Don't need more ammunition
From what you speak today

Stop, think, and be the President,
The one that you can be,
And we will get behind you
Think before you speak and see

Crucified By the Press

Donald oh Donald you've met the press.
You hold to your guns in self defense.
You haven't a sin for sharing with
and follow a code that makes more sense.

We all know you're rich and get the girls.
It's true that the money's attractive.
We hope that one day we'll be more like you.
Self-made and little more active.

Don't worry for not being politically correct.
Or income for tax paid zero.
The truth is we want a regular guy
to shoot down the Press like a hero.

Premium Member Addicted To Doom

Doomed from the moment the sun came up,
My black cloud rolled down from the hill.
The cliff in my mind didn’t care for this cloud,
This cloud that wanted to kill.

I tried to defend, to attack, to think clear,
To shoot down the blur of this smoke.
But my mind wasn’t strong, wasn’t able to cope,
And so slowly it began to choke.

First was the plans I had for the day,
Clean up, buy food from down town.
But my mind didn’t want to play fair today,
Deciding it’d rather just drown.

I tried to remember what I’d done yesterday,
Before my mind washed up on the shore.
Yesterday didn’t return, to oblivion it went,
And today’s mind didn’t care anymore.

As today wore on I did some small things,
Lead myself right back to that old shopping mall.
Finally standing proud, remembering stuff,
Like to buy more of my friend, alcohol.

Frustration

Frustration
By
Lionel Derbyshire

Convinced this is the poem
I dont want found
When a had been life
Is like a selection
Of random carrion.
At first by birth
I heard echo's
Of sweet expectations
A rose grows everyday
Impatience can make it unwilling
And frustration discolours the tone
When hope cheats .. it creates a fuse
But oceans always remain the same
And I fuss when I should be eager
My soul calls for determination
I say life lie's under oath
Yet it formed another blue sky
Let me shoot down the damm moon
And away with the sweet tune of the bird
I am offended and caged
When in my convenience
I blame everything ..
Frustration..
You are a boo.
I can't change the weather
Even if I wanted too.
