Some folks are defeated before they game of life begins each day. :(
Doomed from the moment the sun came up,
My black cloud rolled down from the hill.
The cliff in my mind didn’t care for this cloud,
This cloud that wanted to kill.
I tried to defend, to attack, to think clear,
To shoot down the blur of this smoke.
But my mind wasn’t strong, wasn’t able to cope,
And so slowly it began to choke.
First was the plans I had for the day,
Clean up, buy food from down town.
But my mind didn’t want to play fair today,
Deciding it’d rather just drown.
I tried to remember what I’d done yesterday,
Before my mind washed up on the shore.
Yesterday didn’t return, to oblivion it went,
And today’s mind didn’t care anymore.
As today wore on I did some small things,
Lead myself right back to that old shopping mall.
Finally standing proud, remembering stuff,
Like to buy more of my friend, alcohol.
