Pirates

I’ll speak of me past of stories once told.
Of men that rode waves out in the cold.
Tales of the strong, the courageous, the bold.
Most of them died young, a few were quite old.

The things that they done sent chills up my spine.
They’d eat mush and swill and drink rum and wine.
When they were happy, they

The lighthouse hums beneath a ghostly sky,
fog bruises the restless sea's breath,
no ships will come tonight.

To The Moon Above

To the moon above
On mission of grand conquest
Men in  lunar launch

Defining moment
In “One giant leap for mankind”
Prints in lunar dust

Stars and Stripes planted
The flag flies but does not wave
In moon’s atmosphere

In that adventure
Proud men and women served
I was among them

Soon many giant steps
Were made on terra firma 
To visit again 

Time has written much
Since

What Menace

I saw ten ships departing north,
From out the grand Canal.
They each were armed with cannons four,
With mighty rationale.
Atop them flew my country's flag,
A phoenix white in pride,
It struck about the side of crag,
The first ship sank and died.

I saw nine ships all leave the docks,
to meet our mortal foes.
The men unlocked the musket-box,
To autocrats depose!

TWO SHIPS

On many a morning walk I’ve seen this lady up ahead…walking in the streetlight’s glow
but she’s always been too far away…for me to say hello.

Besides walking in the dark the last thing I want to do is give someone a fright!
So…for the longest time we’ve passed each other…like two ships in the night.

My Ship sails on a stormy sea
thrown by the winds of anger
I was dumped on the yellow sand
I am the lonely one
Ships of foolishness
you were a pique of a dream 
Chevron skies
gives way to understanding
in the last light
to devine a course of freedom

A PIRATE'S SHIP

The pirate’s ship
Was about to be roasted
When it came to close
To Florida’s coast
An attack had been planned
The reaper was close
It was one blast from a cannon
And they were toast

Two ships crossed

eyes met
faces lit up
in expectancy 
but the distance
between head and heart
could not be bridged
innocence wept
gifted moment lost
for now ethereal vibrations 
recognising oneness
remain barren
denied the caress
of love sublime by touch

Jeu, the Living Craftsman

Jumped down to save the battle hardened pearl made from heaven's dazzling greatness 

Evenly spread and crucified the serpent of ocean's darkness 

Uplifted the ships of dazzling light he crafted to be heaven's brightness

Redefining what you think is courtesy 
This sinking ship we've found
Remains the perfect metaphor 
In all the worst ways 

You're already in my head
You're the antithesis of life advice I give myself 

But I could be sinking deeper
I could be hurting more with your knife in my back 
And my back against the wall
