Served with Love

Delicate heart of mine I served silver plattered,
As I watched it get sundered and shattered,
I thought it swayed your palate gladder,
But you said it could flavor a little better.

    A meal is served
       quiet descends
    Taste buds sample
       opinions form

    Some heads nod approvingly
       others to-and-fro oppose
     Words are not superfluous ~
       They’re just too scary

Frog legs are reputed to be
      quite a tasty delicacy

I must confess, though, as for me

Premium MemberJustice Is Served

That guy with a head like an orange melon
is once and for all a convicted felon.
The verdict, beyond a shadow of a doubt,
was guilty on not one but thirty-four counts.

Judging from that chump's expression,
he might go into a deep depression.
We certainly won't hear any confession.
He'll claim that he's a victim of oppression.

For him, it's all about deniability.
Never has he taken responsibility.
His lawyers, we know, were clearly outsmarted,
while he just sat and dozed and farted.

And as America and the world clearly saw,
in a democracy NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW.

Premium MemberMy Dresser Served Me Tea

I live in a magical house with my cats, He and She.
They love me to pieces and give me some glee.
Yesterday at a quarter before ten until three
My dresser gave a bow and served me some tea.

The windows of the house are crisp, clean, and free.
Of cobwebs and dust, they truly do not reflect me.
I am grimy and dirty, said my pal, Sally Anne Lee.
But delighted of course that my dresser served me.

We can’t undo one thing we have done,
at best, we can try to make amends.
Things once seen can’t be unseen, not one.
once filed in our past that’s where it ends.

We never forget the stench of war,
or why we were selected to go.
Forced to do things that we still abhor,
we can't forget, we'll always know.

Binary

A world once served by gods and heroes
Now gets by with ones and zeros.

Wife Material

Wife material

"We are looking for wife material right now," he says
I laugh a little
"Yeah, wife material," he seconds
I laugh bemused and look at them both ironically
He pulls me by my jersey
He makes me stand in front him
And starts pinning my buttons from up to bottom
"What wife material?" I ask
"Somebody who can do the dishes," he says
"Somebody who does not need to be told things," he seconds
"Somebody who doesn't wait around all day to be served," he says.
I laugh, "it's not like you are going to marry soon."
"Well he is all grown up," I am told
"I think he needs 5 years plus," I retort
"No I don't," he tells me
"By end of this year I will be married," he says
I laugh
"Who knows, I might impregnate you," he says
"Excuse me; impregnate who?" I retort
"Doctor, doctor she refuses to be impregnated by you," someone says whilst laughing
We all laugh
I get served lunch
As we start cleaning up,
I can't help but keep laughing,
'Wife material'
What the hell does that mean

Lord Served Us Our Pi

Seen wisely through love's eyes
Wisdom from the divine realm
Jesus Christ is at the helm
I love you more than you know
The Lord did show
All fear disappeared
We felt in here
Remembrance
Dance of your extravageance
Proclamation
Salvation

Justice Served

When is justice done you say
As arguments considered don’t go away
Is it a lawyer’s picnic that we see
Or is it something that was meant to be

So we are left to ponder now
What do we believe within our know how
Does it become a race for the best experts
With no thought of who is left to hurt

Do we say never mind they were sick
As the courts rule what is left of it
And what of our opinions you may say
When the hurt is left and justice seems washed away.

Premium MemberHe Served He Fed His Fellow Man-

Early 1940s
 13 years before my birth
On the seas
during World War II
My father served as a Navy chef
That's when the waves
Did wave
And the banners windley gauge
Sailor at sea served his country and his seamen
Alas!
13 years later
As a husband and father he served
Sailor chef my father he fed me

Justice Was Served

Jim vowed to love me until his last breath
But left when he met a transgender, Seth
Justice was rightly served
Jim got what he deserved

SERVED ON SUNDAY

Buttery ham spicy-sweet.
Juices coalesce
greens - okra, collard, turnip
with splash of hot sauce.
A plate of cornbread
and sweet tea,
y’all!
