In Justice Served

A baseball player, name of Kyle Tucker
Ever hear of him? – Neither had I

Just inked a $240 million contract
~ setting off quite the hue and cry

There was a time when most baseball players had to find off-season jobs to make ends meet. It was common to meet a Brooklyn Dodger like Duke Snyder riding on a subway More power to those making fortunes in sports, but they're no longer "one of us" unless you're Elon Musk or Mark Z.

I remember when players who today wol command tens of millions of dollars ran insurance agencies on the north side of Chicago in the 'off-season.' Bill 'Moose' Skowron and Walt Moryn come to mind. As for basketball players, I don't know how they made ends meet at all. Same for NFL. Those fellows played for the love of the game.** Solely. Ah, those were the days. **Except for the ones too slow to do anything else. Boxers come to mind there too. ~ gw

Heard his name just this week. It's outrageous to me how much money is spent on sports, actors, etc. I've noticed the rich no longer live in mansions but castles, who lives in the mansions, I don't know, but I know it trickles down to regular people struggling to eat & buy homes. I looked online at some stars castles & I wouldn't want one, sterile cold, not homey. Check out Mark Walberg's new castle, outrageous. I need to stop; seems I've stepped up on a box. What a world, glad you're in it.

Please 'step on a box' anytime, my friend. Really enjoy your muses on whatever topic. Go for it. Thanks, Gershon
