Premium Member Finding your Joy in Life

Sheila says life is a joy
she has a plethora of hobbies
surrounded by family and two loving dogs
she cooks and bakes to an imaginary piper
her neighbors congregate at her party house

Janice does not understand Sheila
her life ceased to exist six years ago
when her Roy died
She crawled into the grave with him
life has no meaning for Janice

we do not have to be Sheila or Janice
but we do have to figure out life
until the day we don’t
so, let’s focus on the positive things that happen
we don’t have to ignore the negatives

We have to bury them
deep in the ground
or throw them into the river
or burn them
they do us no good
life is for the living
and dwelling on negatives is not that

so, skip to work and sing a little song
wave to strangers on the highway and wish them well
say your prayers, expressing gratitude for your triumphs
focus on the best parts of you and yours
and you will be surrounded by love and light
and you will show others how to live and find their joy

When God Is Satisfied

Do you see this home I made,
as well, the streets, houses and moon?
You are just a game I play,
  ceasing to exist very soon.

Once out of sight, out of mind;
  mere puppets dancing on my strings;
Life is illusion, you'll find
no magic with what freedom brings.

I will create the rainbows
  or thunder as my mood dictates;
My rules, nobody knows,
along with all your future fates.

If you deign to interfere
  I'll fill you full of distraction;
Better say your prayers right here
  and give us both satisfaction.

Who Is Your Issue With

You think weakness admits its flaws
that’s why you don’t correct yours
attempting progress stuck on pause
back towards the done befores

Destined by the lack of vision
superstition on a mission
when the intellect is missing
say your prayers keep on wishing

But you don’t hit your enemy
never where they’re meant to be
frustrated repeatedly
mirror mirror can you see?

Game Over

Do you think I run scared from you?
Do you think that you stand above me in those big boots?
Do you think I cower, trembling beneath a table,
With my tail tucked between my legs,
While you search for me atop that high horse you like to ride?
Do you think in this childish game of cat and mouse,
You so deviously started,
That you are the cat with the sharpened claws
And I am the weak, defenceless mouse—
Fulfilling my only purpose as prey to you?
And in this game that you planned out so perfectly,
You sit and torment me day after day:
Until, in the end, the tiny, petrified mouse
Acts out and bites the paw that swipes at it—
Only for you to reverse the roles and pretend that, all along,
You were the poor, poor mouse; hunted mercilessly
By me: the unruly predator.
So, now, you say the mobs will appear to chase the beast away—
You think I hide with my tail tucked between my legs;
Ready to beg for your mercy—
But I will not bow down to the words you say.
If I am the monster, then let this be known:
My teeth are bared and I am waiting to attack;
Say your prayers and kiss your family goodbye
Because trust me, friend,
My bark is not worse than my bite.

Candles

Light a candle, the past has passed,
Say your prayers, a life is gone,
A moment of silence, free at last,
The wick burns out, into a new dawn.
What was once is no more,
Was to be, a memory,
Could have been, broken on the floor,
A decade that felt like a century.
The darkness breaks, filled with light,
The monster, heavy, and gripping,
Releases, doesnt put up a fight,
As the sun shines on a new beginning,
The light of life burns anew,
Fire re-lit, Phoenix wings embrace,
Stand tall and proud, take in the view,
You are blessed, go forward with grace.
Light a candle, the past has passed,
Say your prayers, a life is gone,
A moment of silence, free at last,
The wick burns out, into a new dawn.

Faith Without Works

It is easy to say your prayers
Exactly on point
Prayers maybe answered
the time we put our hands to work
Prayers maybe answered
when we engage our hands into work
So that we may gain resources for our daily needs
Idleness can make us doubt our faith in Christ
Miracles locate the hand that is not idle
Taking action after prayers is a great way
to stay blessed
Only when you take action is when the universe
Will pour the blessings and open the doors for you
Faith without works is dead

Speak Your Truth

Speak your truth when you can, while you can. The time is now. If we speak up with good intentions, from the heart, we will be honouring ourselves and others.

Speak your truth

When the day is at an end
And you say your prayers at night
Are there moments you regret
When the words weren't said out loud?

Are there thoughts that worry you
About the choices that you made?
Are you worried that there will be
Too much unfinished when you're in your grave?

For many souls who linger on
Are stuck here confused or sad
They so desperately want to reach out
And have those conversations they never had

So, when you want to speak your truth
It's best to do it while you can
Because the sands of time pass on
And there's no going back for mortal man

The farmer cocked his rifle and glared down upon the turkey
It wasn’t mist that made the farmyard and the turkey murky
His muddy specs and ageing eyes had made his vision blurred
And as he wiped his grimy specs he said this to the bird…

“Some folk say I ought to starve; my eyesight ain’t so hot,
But I ensured I heard the voice of everything I shot.
I bagged myself some lovely pork, you should’ve heard him oink
He hit the deck with quite a thud… his oink became a BOINK.

“My beef is fresh, as fresh as you, oh boy did that cow moo,
The racket he kicked up was like a knees-up at the zoo.
That tasty cow is gonna make a cupboard full of jerky,
But all their oinks and all their moos ain’t gonna give me turkey.”

The farmer aimed his rifle at the poor old turkey’s head
He squinted as he muttered, “You’re my dinner so you’re dead.
So say your prayers because my shot you never will inhibit.”
But then the turkey hopped around while yelling, “Ribbit, Ribbit!”

Time Enough For You

Time enough for you

Don't give up
Things don't always happen when you plan them
Don't give up
Remember even nature needs good timing

Bow your head
Say your prayers
Get in touch with your heart
And what's in your head

There'll be time enough for you
Don't despair at the wait
You can still have your dreams come true
You just have to have patience

There'll be time enough for you
Don't forget about Heaven's timing
You can still experience every happiness
There'll be time enough to shine

Whatever you believe
Know that you can make it true
With commitment and effort
Make your wishes work for you

Don't look back with regret
At all the opportunities you missed
Grab your happiness and embrace it
Like a lover's spectacular kiss

There'll be time enough for you
Don't despair at the wait
You can still have your dreams come true
You just have to have patience

There'll be time enough for you
Don't forget about Heaven's timing
You can still experience every happiness
There'll be time enough to shine

Sunday Funday

Whenever you are feeling bored
Just grab a knife and carve a gourd
A creepy face
Lights up the place
So say your prayers and praise the Lord

Flesh And Bone
David J Walker

What is the weight of
this flesh and bone
Night wind
calling home
the souls of those
long gone
slow until the coming dawn
who still tread the trails of youth

tell me
	did you sin
did you say your prayers
under the stars or stairs
did you finally win
the blue ribbon
he wears
as if it were the truth

what is the weight of this
		flesh and bone
abandoned dreams
when the day is done
a rusted sun
in muted streams
a mournful drone
imperfect clone
of a bygone day undone

free me from this flesh and bone
call me home
let me walk with
	those long gone
	all alone
into the coming dawn

Soon be time for Halloween,
So wear your mask to make them scream.

Pumpkin pie and pumpkin juice,
Trick and treaters on the loose.

Carve your pumpkin big and bright,
To scare away the ghosts tonight.

Be prepared on all saints Eve,
Lock your doors before you leave.

If you scare the ghosts away,
You can celebrate samhain day.

But if you fail your task ahead,
Say your prayers before you go to bed.

When More Than One Rooster Is Outside At Dawn

When there is no rooster waking you up at dawn,
You can go back to sleep, just as long
As you haven't left too many of the lights on.
Just relax, wake up, and have fun!

When one rooster wakes you up at dawn
Say your prayers, the work day's begun
Make sure you're clean, get your hard shoes on,
And get a straw hat to protect from the sun.

When two roosters wake you up at dawn,
Get outside, to the north and pray.
An ancient beast is on the run,
Pray for safety, before the day is done.

When five roosters stand silently at dawn.
The sky is red with a Holy One
Corrupted Angel's trumpets sound
Do not fight. They've already won.

When 7 silhouettes of any creatureat the window,
Draw sigils and pray.
The Rapture has been corrupted
The three worlds are collapsing and melting together.

When 11 roosters wake you up at dawn,
That's normal.
That's normal.
That's normal.
That's normal.
That's normal.
That's normal.
That's normal.5
That's normal.011
That's normal.20
That's normal.
That's normal.

Premium Member Sweet Dreams Lullaby

The sun has set and gone to sleep,
And so now you must too.
Day is done, it's time to rest,
Your bed is waiting for you.

Lay down your golden head, my child,
Upon your pillow soft.
Say your prayers and close your eyes,
As your dreams carry you aloft.

Dream a dream of rainbow skies,
Swing on the stars so bright.
Catch a ride on a unicorn,
As you soar through this magical night.

Dream sweet dreams and never fear,
The angels are watching you.
They'll keep you safe from all harm,
Until this night is through!
