Flesh and Bone

Listen to poem:
Flesh And Bone David J Walker What is the weight of this flesh and bone Night wind calling home the souls of those long gone slow until the coming dawn who still tread the trails of youth tell me did you sin did you say your prayers under the stars or stairs did you finally win the blue ribbon he wears as if it were the truth what is the weight of this flesh and bone abandoned dreams when the day is done a rusted sun in muted streams a mournful drone imperfect clone of a bygone day undone free me from this flesh and bone call me home let me walk with those long gone all alone into the coming dawn
