Picturesque Sands

Always hop on a chance to jet-set,
travel as far and as often as you can.
I never want to have postcard regret.

Stay mindful you don't need a plan,
This is not always the easiest task. 
Spontaneous adventures? I'm a fan. 

Wearing a sunscreen lotion's mask
I'm ready to indulge in far off lands. 
Under foreign sunshine I long

In the desert of silence, where thoughts are born from extinguished sands

A creature without garments, with eyes burning like fallen stars,
Holds its pulsating heart in dry hands, like a poisoned gift,
And bites into it, eagerly, like a forbidden fruit of knowledge.

As the sun continues to rise,
As the moon continues to wane and wax,
Here I am, continuing to wave on
The wrinkling sea of life, streaming to its shores,
To froth and seep deep into the waiting sands of time;
Here to canvas clanging conch-like echoing footprints:-

Shuffling Souls in Shifting Sands

Shifting standards in drifting sands,
where forgiveness is a sundae treat,
spins the wheel of fortune
to shuffle-card mode. 
Where truth is discounted, 
by dealing cards face-up, 
and uncounted.

When Love Leaves Home

Once upon a time on the sands she thought she found true love
then one day he went his way what was she dreaming of
now she walks the shoreline alone along the low water mark
searching for seashells on her own from sunrise until dark
at the end of the tunnel there's always a light
a ray of hope

you let love slip through your fingers
where you once held the key
now you're haunted with regret
and have nowhere else to flee

Sifting through the sands of time
Ephemeral it fades away
As water flows down the river
It's constantly on the move
Time and tide waits for no one
Instead of lamenting the past
We should seize every moment
Fulfil our dreams and wishes
Till our time on this earth is over
And death knocks at our door.
