S~ Scent of the shining, Pacific Ocean, eternally bless me!
A~ Arresting fog, may your droplets forever surround me.
N~ Nights of rainbowed streetlights, dance, engulfed by the sea!

F~ Friendships, ah,so transformative, we gave each other the space to be!
R~ Resurrecting the grand glow of our hopes and oh so shining individuality.
A~ As full, white clouds, we brought glimmering hope to humanity.
N~ Nights, we honored the stars and earth, with wonder and humility.
C~ Concerned were we, starting projects to end hunger, compassionately!
I~ I was more than blessed to participate in these fulfilling days of glory.
S~ Scents of fresh, amazing anitsef, another aromatic, scented story.
C~ Compassion not competitive these loving memories do be.
O~ Or it seemed like not a city at all, but anthologically, some divine country!

Premium MemberMarathon Running Days

10/20/2023

Those tanned, shapely legs of mine,
where have you gone?
No longer have I the ability to run!

Nor feel the glorious, salt water spray,
from my beloved, San Francisco Bay!
That kissed my sweating, dawn face.

Those foggy morns, the busy hands of
time have erased.
Some other body now, in its place?
This ghost of a runner, soulfully does state.

Who took away my youth in a dream?
If so, nobody heard a scream from me,
For now…left with joyful memories.

I am sitting here, composing soulful poetry.
Is this really how my life ends?
Stationary, on an internet device?

Prefer to be the woman on the run.
Than enduring ….no earthly fun,
Return me, please, to the “Bay to Breakers Run!”

You'll find a heart there
Somewhere

On a cable car seat
Or placed on a stair

In my careless despair
You'd think I don't care

Or my forgetfulness
But au contraire

My love was safe
In pocket deep

No chance to slip
Or deftly creep

But golden glow
Of sunshine light

Enticed a peek
Horizon bright

Inviting heart
To take a flight

No plan
Rough sketched

Heart's wings
Outstretched

I suppose I'm writing
Just to warn ya

Hold tight to love
In California

                      San Francisco Jazz Afternoons

Carries me back to those special Sunday afternoons with you.
The striped awning Jazz cafe, our very unique, ibeloved rendezvous.

The smell of the glorious, scents of the Pacific Ocean,
Those brown flirtatious huge eyes, lashes, my West Coast sensation!

My diamond engagement ring glittered like rainbow butterfly wings.
Memories of Coltrane, Davis, music that made you my heart laugh and sing.

San Francisco, always the beguiling, mystical jewel of my heart.
Everyday people who loved peace, jazz music, discourse, finest coffee and art.

You later, bought a fresh, intoxicating gardenia for my ebony bobbed hair.
Do you recall later, Union Street in The City’s, moist, foggy, sensuous air?

The spiritual City, was indeed our forever souls', sparking, galaxy prime,
We were both as daystars, walking its winding streets, so totally divine!

Premium MemberSan Francisco Wishes

If I only had one wish be granted me tonight,
To be forty-five, again, would be a blessed delight.

To be able to walk in high heeled shoes,
Not in Skechers, no, they give me the blues.

Nikes and running shoes were indeed my fate.
Dawn runs, next to the esteemed Golden Gate.

Dancing till dawn at Club Montmartre,
My life akin, to an expensive piece of art.

The clang of the cable cars rings in my ears.
Memories of those days, fill me with tears.

I can actually breathe life back into my regal past.
Ride a ferry boat, hoist high my heart’s mast!

Have you ever seen a metropolis glow at night?
Walking with your love in a hazed, foggy night?

That treasured city cast her spell on the poetess, that was to be.
San Francisco, I, no doubt will pen about you and love you, eternally!

                San Francisco Soulmates

You discovered the ever-seeking soul in me!
Looking for truth, for all of mankind to see!
Unaccepting of all common, unquestioned beliefs.
Ignorant, educated dullards brought to me,absolutely no relief.

Late, late into the foggy evening’s very last twinkling, summer star,
Plato and Aristotle, greedily we devoured, while riding on a cable car,
And, although you now are insensate and in an impenetrable grave,
See my soul, my sweet, for truth, it rants and in my poetry, madly raves.

Premium MemberPardon My Parody: What Happens In San Francisco

...and with apologies to Tony Bennett.

I smelled a fart in San Francisco,
It wafted out across the Bay.
An Oakland breeze just blew it back,
A tourist gasped, "A gas attack!"
A drag queen shrieked, "Oy vey!
That's gross!", and swooned away.
Who cut that fart in San Francisco
The CIA is keen to see.
If they find out it's from North Korea or Iran,
It could be the fart that started World War III.

Premium MemberDo It Again, Please

Roll back the joy of golden, painted years.
Hold me in that rapture, of joyful cascading tears.

Place the engagement ring on my soft hand.
Allow me to hear the notes of passion’s band.

Oh, how deeply in love in the City by the Bay we were!
Then~abruptly dismissed by Cupid’s, stinging, sharp spur!

That glorious moment though, outlives the painful march of time.
When I was wholly yours, on love’s, long, enchanting, cascading vine!

Premium MemberFor My Late Husband

Along the coolness of the oaks we walked.
Honeymooners dreams, was our secret talk!
Eucalyptus trees smiled, scenting our way.
Twas “our” San Francisco first come what may.

I never thought, you would die so very young.
But you taught me independence and deep love.
That gift you gave me, to not follow nor a groupie be.
Was the biggest gift ever, till we conjoin in eternity .

Your wisdom, laughter, love so sorely missed.
But a wife never forgets the magic of your kiss.
Nor the great Bohemian days when we married.
When death comes,to you, I shall run and not tarry!

All my love,
Panagiota

Premium MemberIf You’re Going to San Francisco

Verse 1
If you’re going to San Francisco
be sure to let the junkies puke in your hair
If you’re going to San Francisco
you’re gonna meet some homeless people there

Verse 2
For those who come to San Francisco
you’ll see a violent carjackin’ there
In the streets of San Francisco
you’ll see liberal criminals everywhere

Bridge
All across the nation such a strange violation
people in commotion
There’s a whole generation with a new indoctrination
people in commotion, people in commotion

Verse 3
For those who come to San Francisco
be sure to fear some perp pullin’ your hair
If you come to San Francisco
there will be a smash and grab there

Outro
If you come to San Francisco
you might wanna say a prayer

      Written: June 2024

This is my version of Scott McKenzie’s
classic song. A once great city destroyed
by lunatic woke liberal progressivism.

The Fog April 8

The Fog Local Gems

Note: one of my oldest poems was written in 1972 when I was 16. Revised as a cherita.

The Fog
The Fog

The Fog
Rolls in and in.

And on forever
Till the end of time
Past where once stood proud San-San.

Now there is nothing

But bones rolling in
Forever and ever

Rotting in the blue sunlight
Turning in the yellow clouds
filling the air

With the stench

The fear
The feel

Of a people forever dead
Merging with the fog
Filling the air

The fog rolls in and in

Laughing as the Sun
Sinks into the purple coated sky

Above the encrusted sky of time
With the people of the earth
Just another dead civilization.

Day 8: A Layer Of Fog
................................
................
Re-write the fog if I can find it I should be able to either re-write or use a couple of my horror haiku poems or combine into a longer piece perhaps a cherita? Or a Haiku sonnet? That would be the funniest one to do

Beautiful San Francisco

Beautiful San Francisco

						In Northern California,
						By the Bay,
						There it is,
						That beautiful city,
						It’s the city Tony Bennett
						Sings of
“I Left My Heart in San Francisco”
						Those lovely trolley cars,
						Make it so unique,
Nob Hill, a street we all know,
						Fisherman’s Wharf, an interesting
						Array of shops,
						That famous Golden Gate Bridge,
My Dad told us he sailed by it
						On his way to Korea,
						During the Korean War,
My whole family got to see
						San Francisco,
For my Dad, it was special,
Home to the 49ers football team,
						Beautiful San Francisco,
						In Northern California,
						By the Bay,
						There it is,
						That Beautiful City,
						It’s the city Tony Bennett
						Sings of
“I Left My Heart in San Francisco”.

Premium MemberMarina Green, San Francisco

Ah, my Marina Queen!
You, who reigns over the Marina with grass
so tantalizing, so verdantly green.
Holding costly homes that gaze over the
San Francisco Bay,

I adored the music of fog horns, and
could listen to them hight and day.
We all blessed by a mystical, silent drops of fog!
Embracing the Marina and we, your most serene
residents ......all night long!

No tourists on the huge lawns, run!
They. unknowingly believe Pier 39 and souvenirs
are far more fun?
San Franciscans know the city far better than a
sleazy tourist attraction.

They love the unknown jazz and coffee haunts.
Smiling at one another in delightful satisfaction.
The overpowering scent of Eucalyptus trees,
The Japanese tea garden.
Souls that are totally free!

Premium MemberA Romance With Electrons

How could hands touch with
such tender velocity!
Eyes, with bolts of lightning,
electric.
Yet have the softest, velvet
synchronicity?
That WestCoast night, hearts
bound and eclectic

Your arms about my waist,
in the windows, fog-glossed
reflection.
A moment’s, Monet’ sacred
masterpiece!
That cried out for human creation.
Of you, of me, to bring to life,
a being in God’s own time and divination.
