Do It Again, Please

Roll back the joy of golden, painted years.
Hold me in that rapture, of joyful cascading tears.

Place the engagement ring on my soft hand.
Allow me to hear the notes of passion’s band.

Oh, how deeply in love in the City by the Bay we were!
Then~abruptly dismissed by Cupid’s, stinging, sharp spur!

That glorious moment though, outlives the painful march of time.
When I was wholly yours, on love’s, long, enchanting, cascading vine!

Why was love abruptly dismissed? What was the pain that you endured? Certainly a story between these lines. Great write! Sincerely!

Yes, dear Roy! A story that shall never be told. Folks have enough grief in their lives, Yes? To let you know, Though that ended…we came to become friends later, with a happy ending. We respected each other and honored the time we had together. The write exactly matches the scene.))) that’s why you liked it. And compliments from me for wanting to know more. He wrote an outstanding poem about us. Better than I could ever pen. )) thank you Ray, Hugs, Pangie xx

Hello Poetess Lisa! I am just reading this now. Almost 3pm in sunny California. That engagement took place in a sweet place in Chinatown, SF. ..in those days SF was akin to being in heaven..safe, loving. The aroma of freshly ground coffee filled the air and gardenias. I don’t think I have ever been in a big city, that charming,we were going to be married on a ferry boat That is a relic! It’s so beautiful. All wooden floors and long seats. That never happened but we still are great friends…let me know which piems youlike best. Am starting a collection of those most liked! Need all the help I can get. Thank you again~ you read my heart! Hugs , Pangie xx

So revealing of a blessed time of romance and youthful enchantment. Vividly clear and as pretty as fresh fallen snow. A delight to read and marvel at its wonderful creation. A favorite. God bless.

Dearest Robert, I, too savored this one. That moment is so vivid, you said it was”vividly .ll” a nd and pretty as fallen snow and that is how I still experience it. Thank you for FAVING it. I can think of nothing better in this world than being deeply in love. It is my favorite topic. As well as truth, capturing the beauty of a moment in time is so similar to a great painting. Like looking at a Monet or Degas Bless you. Loyal friend. Panagiota. Thank you.

Those sweet moments we never forget. A crucial part of love, not a complete love we all strive for, when abruptly dismissed! (divorce) ~ Sincere and beautiful, Panagiota. Have a great day!

Like you, I liked this poem. There is so much to this story. But that.incredible moment shall never be forgotten. His eyes sparkled, like the ring did…full of love and hope. In relationships, things can change. But as Joe said, we both survived. And for the better. Pangie

Being creative with expressive words of love is what makes poetry so magnificent Pangie. “Place the engagement ring on my soft hand. Allow me to hear the notes of passion’s band.” A perfect example of what I am trying to relate. Your words let us feel we were present viewing your special moment close by. I love how you write my friend. I am Faving this beauty. Blessings xxoo

Hi Connie, your comments to many here are brimming with love and understanding! So to have you FAV this is akin to getting an Oscar!)))) I hope my writing is as you say. I am not in love with nature as much as relationships and my friends, and-family on life outside the Soup, and here. Pangie *

Very beautiful! "That glorious moment though, outlives the painful march of time. When I was wholly yours, on love’s, long, enchanting, cascading vine!" Sounds like neither of you are worse, for having shared such tender moments in often tumultuous times. Brava!

Hi Prince excuse lateness in replying. You have great insight in your response!! We both moved on. A year later, I invited him to a Seminar. He really stood up for who I really was. So, we survived as you said.I fell madly in love with another_)) who will always be the love of my life. I am so grateful you liked that line! Pangie

Very revealing. Honest to the core, as you always are... I myself have both city and farm in me. If I were a doctor, I'd be a quack! If I were a security guard, I'd be a rooster. If I were at all talkative -- SMACK! POW! BAM! ~ Batman, in the nick of time

I do wonder how my life would have been if we had married. Not good, I think! I had nightmares dreaming of living on a farm, raising chickens?! Too much Chicago and city life in me. Farming is not in my blood. City-Gal Pangie ))
