Notes About The Poem

San Francisco Wishes

If I only had one wish be granted me tonight, To be forty-five, again, would be a blessed delight. To be able to walk in high heeled shoes, Not in Skechers, no, they give me the blues. Nikes and running shoes were indeed my fate. Dawn runs, next to the esteemed Golden Gate. Dancing till dawn at Club Montmartre, My life akin, to an expensive piece of art. The clang of the cable cars rings in my ears. Memories of those days, fill me with tears. I can actually breathe life back into my regal past. Ride a ferry boat, hoist high my heart’s mast! Have you ever seen a metropolis glow at night? Walking with your love in a hazed, foggy night? That treasured city cast her spell on the poetess, that was to be. San Francisco, I, no doubt will pen about you and love you, eternally! 3/8/2023

I haven't been here in years but I remember the first and last times vividly. A fascinating and fun city back then Pangie. :)

Living there is magic! Not anymore. You can see videos on you tube of how it is now. It is a tragedy indeed.Tony Bennett. Son about it was quite accurate and lovely, Pangie,

Your poem sketches a powerful image of a woman in love with a city -- and a city in love with a woman. FAVE time, P! Thanks, G

Hi Paige, Why, thank you.under no circumstances would I advise it now. It’s turned out to be crime and drug ridden. How sad. Chicago is 10x worse. Anyway.,,,I was blessed to be there. Kindness , friendship and warmth ruled each sunrise and sunset. I live in wine country now, very scenic, nice families and non violent. Panagiota xo

Darlene they also make ooo the streets?? Then call the city to come pick it up. There are poo maps online. So people cam avoid those streets. Stealing anthing is OK in SF. Nuts,..Pangie, businesses cannot afford to stay open.it’s like a rat’s nest. Hugs Pangie.

Hello Panagiota, If you do not give the poor enough money they urinate on you! How awful!! It should not be that way. They should accept whatever money is given to them. Hugs. /Darlene/xxx

Yes cities change. Not into bumtown, or people lying on the street, nor are cars broken into. Forgot to add teams of kids with masks raid and steal from the best stores in downtown SF. If you give the poor money and it’s not enough they urinate on you? That’s change! No. That’s insanity…..Pangie xo.

Hello Darlene, it sure was for-me! In those years it was wonderfully safe, anytime of night. People dressed well and respected each other.I am sorry we did not know each other then.one morning, I stepped outside and found a drunk asleep. I had a sixth sense at that moment, it was time to leave SF. I did not want to, but the city is a hell hole know. My friends avoid SF at all costs! Robberies, drugs,homeless.. everywhere. But I see it as it was,,,beautiful! And quite international. Thank you much…Panagiota xo
