Lady in repose
drifting to horizons
pink and psychedelic
where dream dimensions
uncoil like ribbons
vibrant rainbow iridescence
circling moon spotlight
hidden fairy places
angel spun filigree
festooning domed citadels
of fantasy tales.
Step back,
curious world
unfolds, mysterious
details beckon, shine, fathomless
anchor.
A peacock who is grounded as he flies,
will freely psychedelicize.
Take notice as you stare.
Slowly become aware.
His tail is a hundred eyes.
bride introduced her fretful groom
psychedelic séance shook the room
spirits arrived in tens and twos
influence of drugs or maybe booze?
husband came around quite fast
recognizing good friend from his past
ghosts are now his go-to-friends
broken hearts fixed, he makes amends
The Psychedelic Veil
Shoulders stuck windows of silence in the flesh of embedded eyes,
the scales breathed with lungs of blue fog in everyone
we were overturners of worlds sifted in dreams that floated.
Silence floated in them like lavender smoke on burned lips,
the tallest woman sat on her chair looking toward me,
her gaze was a gentle sadness like a sleeping water,
our recognition tore the seen into fine silk cloths.
Under the veil my whispers slid on my forgotten cheeks,
distance settled with each moment between us like an ocean,
the veil was a curtain of wax melted in lunar transparencies,
my sadness slept on nobody's grass forgotten in eternity.
The scales breathed with souls of steam and with bodies of fog,
we were those who overturned light in mirrors of liquid mercury,
one fine day something floated like a white petal on heavy waters,
and my silence spoke in the lost languages of living oblivion.
Windows with shoulders of gazes nested us in strange eyes,
recognition was a deep trace in every gesture of loss,
the veil whispered with my voice on her cheeks far away on the horizon,
and we all lived in the sweet burden of existence that floated in us.
welcome to Pink Floyd and welcome to the machine
behold the temple of light, and don’t be mean
A psychedelic group, so readily enjoyed and seen
Philosophical lyrics, a rival of Freddie and Queen
Comfortably numb, sit back and enjoy the show
Goodbye blue sky, this concert is the way to go
Pigs on the wing are traveling down the aisle
Another brick in the wall, to make me smile
Coming back to life, on the turning away
Shine on your crazy diamond, you make my day
Sonic experiments are enjoying a revival here
eyes to the pearls, come sit over here.
On a pink cloud
Smoking a watermelon cigar
Fields of skateboard wood and rainbow flowers
Children digging blue holes in purple sand
Skeletons carving bone into dust
Sun like a sweetened lemon
Sky like orange wax melting on a sheet of blue paper
Seagulls dive down into shallow pools
Starfish sing
Blood red coral calls
Golden birch wood fires
Sacred eagles
Sea shells full of fish
Mushrooms sprout like hair
Play drums of animal skin
Eat meat of fish heart
Smoke clouds of green
Glory to The Frog and The Loon
Their crest on the horizon
Glory to The Frog and The Loon and Man
With my eyes half closed I looked in the mirror to see
that worry and anxiety have painted a psychedelic me.
My face is contorted, and I seem to be quite unraveled,
reflected in colors showing where my mind has traveled.
It appears I've become distorted, in a state of psychosis.
"Your behavior is bizarre." That was a doctor's diagnosis.
I feel like an abstract work of art on a canvas torn apart
as if hallucinogens have found their way into my heart.
I fear I've fallen into an abyss of weird mental perceptions
where my mind sees things that are merely misconceptions.
I need saving from this state in which everything is surreal.
Twisted and delusional are not emotions I choose to feel.
I've lost my patience while waiting for this journey to end.
Help is what I need to untether me. Is there one kind friend
among you who will help me find a way out? Just one fellow
who will set my world aright until once again I am mellow?
Passion purple poppies now the world spins
Smokey Sativa surrounds the air breathed within
Yellows, blues, and reds are popping everywhere
Color changing cosmos are colliding in mid-air
Hullicinations of happiness on a pscyhedelic trip
Encased in ecstasy floating, sailing without a ship
DMT mathematically the genius you can't avoid
Energized emotions build up like on steroids
LSD pictures so artfully displayed everywhere
Isotropics help to be alert for on a trip you must beware
Color perfect, orgasmic, psychedelic beauty in the air
The colors of the flowers are vibrantly swaying
The wind caresses them it seems with kisses,
whispering sweet nothings inside cheery cores
Daisy’s white pearly petals are speaking
Yellow sepals smiling, too yellow! Spiky discs
spinning peeking at me as I subtly study them
Dance little flower dance so alive,
I just want to hug and squeeze you
until you feel all this love as well
colors so vibrant
turned on, tuned in, so alive ~
I feel so much love
There are colors that please the eyes:
Rainbows, sunsets, and a sunrise
On psychedelic, I can't gaze
Without recalling careless days.
Ponytails, psychedelic shirts
Flower girls in long, faded skirts
Hippies searching in mushroom clouds
Anti-war protests drawing crowds
Talk of love is everywhere
Psychic wisdom floats in the air
Peace and love in every song
Thinking all the world can be one
While in the flower fields afar
Youths die fighting another war.
POTW!
The light show erupts with a fulgent blast.
Fractals zooming out clash fast, aghast!
Ears pulsating frog-marching to be in tune,
with lights blinding, flashing a sonic boom.
It's a psychedelic reverie, a kaleidoscope of screams!
My head hurts, my brain implodes with dreams
spued up from explosions in surround-sound streams.
I want it to stop, but I love the extraordinary
Way I'm stretched, spaced-out, ablaze and glary.
Reflecting the chaos on my face and body
that's contorted to a gaudy, bawdy, disemboweled anti-body.
PSYCHEDELIC
There was a decade, it was the 60’s I’m sure
When everyday things were just a little bit off
As if there were rumblings in the earth’s core
And when scripted lines gave way to improv
There were plans afoot, some quite nefarious
A Hippy time, with weedy substances to share
And was the dawning of the Age of Aquarius
Minds set free and wearing flowers in the hair
Rainbow colours swirled to the sound of sitars
Free love, at least it may have been for some
And a coming of age of good electric guitars
Whilst others just sat crosslegged acting dumb
Psychedelia was a mind state and the fashion
Radical changes working through the system
And all things anti-establishment, the passion
Rules got lost and older people missed them
The time when all free expression took a lift
We may look back at it with little veneration
Not only tectonic plates that began to shift
We still hear echoes of that Beat generation
WRITTEN IN PSYCHEDELIC INK
Wrongly chosen words convey naught
Creating impressions of the wrong sort
Even when inspiring lines deny empathy
Especially showing contempt for simile
Causing bloody battles to be hard fought
It’s errors despite what has been taught
As some confusion can still be wrought
An innocent mistake rather than villainy
And ink is the black blood of metaphor
Such a psychedelic tone can’t be bought
When the brain is ordered hard to port
Bad interpretation is the hidden enemy
Betrayed in the garden of Gethsemane
Sometimes a poetic drift is never caught
And ink is the black blood of metaphor
Line 4
Metaphors written in psychedelic ink
inside my mind like a projector slide show
of insanity.
The flying pig in the boiling sea chastises me,
I must uncover the cosmic key or the bull
will smash all the inventory.
I refuse to be a diamond in a sea of glass
or Alice through the looking glass,
or stare to long into the abyss
and see it staring back at me.
The golden heart has turned to red
the grapes of wrath are pressing out
the blood of innocence
and I must sound retreat in psychedelic ink
or become lost in illusions,
delusions of peace.
