Plain Poems

Now you must have God’s insurance
So no more illnesses and pain
You are my everyday occurrence
You live in the Elysian plain
I dream you standing by the door
Although I’m blinded by the sun
The sunny zigzags on the floor
Form the same patterns outrun
That special day may come if only
We stop to think about it
Too often, as it

Premium MemberOde to Petunia

Petunia is the plain little sister
who gets overlooked and passed over.

She’s not the pretty one,
always quiet and reserved,
not classy, fancy or graceful.
She takes backstage at every turn.

No games, no false pretenses.
She’s frumpy, floppy and flimsy.
Her scent is unrefined,
not confused with real perfumes.

She’s somewhat of an ugly duckling
but when the going gets tough,
we can’t help but

Coal-brown smoke smudged lightly
with hesitant fingers
into the wet grey sky at the edges,
a yellowing of dried grass
scattered with copper berries
fallen from their vines,
a leaf spinning crazily on a breeze,
a tentative parting of fingertips
and a face turned slightly from mine –
a profile obscured by dark hair –
and eyes scan and count the pylons
for something to do.

The

Plain Girl

“Why are you friends with someone like her when you could be friends with popular people?”

Someone like her.
Someone who doesn’t stand out
Not with looks
Not with personality

Plain girl doesn’t talk to boys
She doesn’t wear makeup or buy the right clothes
She spends her free time doing homework or writing poetry

If she's beautiful, it’s the kind nobody sees
At

On the plain of oblivion, where dreams lose their color under the leaden sky,
Our country stretches like a canvas of memories unraveling in the wind,
Here, where politicians are the shadows of extinguished times, without echo,
We have witnessed a theater of the absurd, with thieves dressed as saints,
Minds bright only in the selling of illusions, while

the first object we see is space
holding us close in warm embrace
a truth we fail to recognise
since mind would weigh, measure and size
thus self-blocking influx of grace

Though we reveal deep truths, they remain concealed,
for we speak of how bliss pheromones mingle,
brought about by power God Himself does wield,
known only to those souls, whose eye is single.
Our delineation offers not the taste,
of rapture ineffable upon us graced
and so though we willingly share, few can pair,
being those select souls who are self-aware.

What the Ether is Really Like

I walked into the shimmering air,
Where stars are woven soft and thin,
And silence hums its secret prayer,
Where all beginnings once begin.

No weight of earth, no song of rain,
Just silver webs that never break,
A sigh that holds no grief, no pain,
With hearts that beat, but never wake.

The moon’s pale breath caressed my cheek,
As love danced with

The first thing we see,
before beholding objects,
is the boundless womb of space.

Do we dare to leap,
in this enigmatic void,
omnipresent yet detached?

Bird Cage - Hidden In Plain Sight

Autumn colored shackles
palpitations make the metal growl
Xanthic forewings and discal cells
grace my mucosa, the ripples feel foul
Eternal suffering in a blissful steel
I like to spend my days believing my delusions are real
Love is just chemicals
that we tend to confuse
But good lord, honey, these confusing chemicals have me addicted to you
May these Lepidopteras lay

The
throb of
bliss hums on
by day and night,
just like our heartbeat
as gift of God wondrous
but there’s no way to transmit
the sublime fragrance we imbibe,
thus we can at best portray in words,
love’s transcendental rapture felt within.

Such secrets divine, are veiled in plain sight,
thus as that both revealed and concealed,
needs mind of soul’s heart to cognise,
that

The seemingly motionless vastness of space,
at times teases, revealing pores in its skin,
through which we see flickers of light as God’s grace,
thus piercing the veil, God-search we may begin.
Such are divine secrets, hidden in plain sight,
cognised by our inner eye, as bright light white,
signalling we’re the light we set out to seek,
recognised when space offers
